Can Cruise Lines Meet The Demands

Ruby Princess Embarkation Pacific Northwest Cruise Back To Back September 17th 2022

The cruise industry is no stranger to staffing issues. According to the Cruise Lines International Association, cruise-related jobs dropped by 51% from 2019 to 2020. While cruises have rebounded somewhat, you still may experience issues related to reduced staffing while at sea.

One region particularly affected is Alaska, where the shoreside personnel staffing levels have impacted excursion availability and staffing, Gray Faust says. The state has not seen the same seasonal workforce it enjoyed before the pandemic, and more jobs in Alaska rely on highly skilled workers with specific licenses for small planes, boats and buses.

Even if there are minor staffing issues in select destinations, passenger feedback on Cruise Critic is positive. The reviews from recent cruisers show that onboard service is still stellarratings for crew service remain incredibly high, she says. We recently surveyed travelers who cruised within the past six months, and 89% of those surveyed said they would sail again under the same circumstances. So the cruise lines are delivering an experience that is meeting or exceeding expectations.

Travelers, it seems, are simply happy to be sailing once again. Since returning to service a year ago, we have seen record guest satisfaction scores. Our team members and guests are thrilled to be on board again, Bodensteiner says.

If I Change Cabins How Does My Luggage Move

This is a bit of gray area, but usually your stateroom attendant will assist in the moving of luggage from one cabin to another.

Talk to your stateroom attendant towards the end of the first sailing about how to best move your belongings. Some attendants will offer to move everything for you, and some will instruct you to leave your bags outside the room to be moved.

To be perfectly honest, I always tip the stateroom attendant first for a job well done, and then ask about how to best move my luggage for the next sailing.

Learn More About Atlanta Rhythm Section

ATLANTA RHYTHM SECTION Formed from the cream of Atlantas studio musicians, the Atlanta Rhythm Section came together in 1970 after working on a Roy Orbison recording session. Keyboardist Dean Daughtry and drummer Robert Nix had been members of Orbisons backing group, the Candymen, and Daughtry and guitarist J.R. Cobb had been members of the Top 40 hitmakers Classics IV . Rounding out the original ARS lineup were vocalist Rodney Justo , guitarist Barry Bailey, and bassist Paul Goddard.

The group recorded two albums for Decca Records in 1972, neither of which made an impact, before signing to Polydor Records in 1974. Their first album for that company, Third Annual Pipe Dream, only reached number 74 in the U.S. The next two albums fared worse. Finally, in 1977, So In To You became the bands breakthrough single, reaching the U.S. Top 10, and the album from which it came, A Rock And Roll Alternative, went gold. Their platinum follow up album, Champagne Jam, broke into the Top 10 in 1978, together with the blockbuster single Imaginary Lover . Nix left after that, replaced on drums by Roy Yeager. During this magical timeframe, ARS performed at the White House for President Jimmy Carter, another notable Georgia product.

Carnival Cruise Line Provides Update On Back

Carnival Cruise Line provides an update on back-to-back cruises to make it more clear for guests.

Carnival Cruise Line has provided an update on the procedures that back-to-back and side-to-side guests will need to follow under the current health regulations and those that go into effect on August 28.

There has been considerable confusion about what requirements guests need to follow if they stay on board for two or more cruises, embark on another Carnival ship when their previous cruise ends, or embark on a cruise within 2-7 days after disembarking their last cruise. Carnival Cruise Lines Brand Ambassador provided clarification.

Ahead of the 2022 college football season, recruiting is taking center stage from coast to coast. For Mario Cristobal and his new staff at Miami, things are expected to be quite busy in Coral Gables relative to the top talent expected to travel to campus.

In the class of 2023 and beyond, UM’s recruiting momentum is hitting full force, and as a result, the Hurricanes are in the mix for some of the top names around the country. As the talent descends upon south Florida, drops top schools, commitment dates and more, this recruiting tracker will serve as a one-stop-shop for Canes fans looking for the very latest.

Stick with All Hurricanes for all of the latest updates in recruiting below:

The future of the Miami Hurricanes football program remains bright, especially in recruiting, under Mario Cristobal.

UM is one of just a few programs to have two future signal-callers in the class of 2023 currently verbally committed, and the latest sample Emory Williams put on tape was a gem. In arguably his best performance as a varsity starter, the Milton High School quarterback threw for 362 yards and six touchdowns in his latest outing. It paced the Elite 11 field.

Williams wrapped up his regular season, and prep career, with the dominant win over Godby High School, 56-32. He completed 27 of his 33 pass attempts in the rout, adding another 31 yards on the ground as a rusher to boot.

The Milton Panthers finished the 2022 campaign 3-7.

Do I Have To Go Through The Check

It’s unlikely you’ll have to go through the whole thing a second time. As mentioned above, clearing immigration is generally quick and painless, and you won’t have to go back to the terminal desks to check in, get your keycard and fill out health forms.

However, since back-to-back sailings are considered two separate cruises — even if you’re sailing on the same ship — you’ll have to settle your onboard account from the first sailing and open a new onboard account for the second. That means you’ll also have to obtain a new keycard some cruise lines send them to your cabin on the last night of the first sailing, while others will require you to visit the front desk. Often, when you leave the ship for the first time after obtaining your new keycard, you’ll be required to have a new security photo taken at the kiosk near the gangway.

Are There Any Restrictions On Back

Royal Caribbean welcomes guests to do as many back-to-back cruises as they as they wish, including kids of any vaccination status.

There was a restriction on unvaccinated kids doing back-to-back cruises on the first sailings to return in 2021, but that has since changed.

The travel requirements and health protocols are the same as a single cruise, and back-to-back cruisers will need to meet all those requirements.

All guests 2 years of age and older, regardless of vaccination status, are required to take a COVID-19 test producing negative results between each sailing. This test will be arranged by Royal Caribbean at no expense to the guest, as long as your consecutive cruises are less than 3 days apart.

Will I Be Able To Stay In The Same Cabin For Both Sailings

Related:Emerald Cruises vs. Vantage Deluxe World Travel

It depends on how the sailing is booked. If you choose the same cabin for both sailings, then, yes, you’ll be able to stay. If, however, you decide you’d like to be on one side of the ship for one sailing and on the other side for the second sailing, that’s also possible. We recommend finding a travel agent to help you make the arrangements you prefer. Keep in mind that you’re more likely to be able to book the same cabin for both parts of your trip if you book early.

If you stay in the same stateroom for both legs of your vacation, you will be able to leave your belongings in your cabin during the changeover between sailings. If you’ll be in a different cabin for each cruise, you’ll be required to relocate your luggage. Sometimes your room steward can offer assistance.

Both Cruise Fanatics And Newbies Are Increasingly Taking To The Water This Winter As Energy Bills At Home Escalate

Our First BACK to BACK CRUISE on Odyssey of the Seas

Taking off on a world or long cruise has long been a popular way to flee from the cold of winter, but with rocketing energy and food prices at home, the prospect of saving money while shutting off the gas and electricity for a month, two or even longer and getting a great holiday to boot is gaining traction.

Those who join these cruises cite the pleasure of sunnier skies, as well as having someone else to cook and clean, as motivating factors and with three meals a day included in the fare, passengers are insulated from soaring food prices. On the more-inclusive cruise lines, drinks, both soft and alcoholic, are also included.

These voyages are no longer the preserve of retired folk with time on their hands. Good internet means digital nomads can work as they cruise the world, so they can keep earning while saving on big bills at home.

Rich and Helen went on their first cruise in 2010, became addicted to life at sea and gave up their full-time jobs as an accountant and teacher in 2020 to become cruise content creators.

Until now, their trips have been a week or so long, but next March they are taking off on a 28-night voyage around Australia on the cruise ship Coral Princess.

How Do I Plan A Back To Back Cruise

To plan a series of back to back cruises you should make sure to research certain criteria:

Check the itineraries

It is important to make sure the itinerary dates match up between the back to back cruises that is, the date of the end of one segment is the date of the beginning of the next segment.

There have been many instances of cruise ships spending a few days in port to either restock, refuel, or work on the ship, so checking the dates is vital to preparing for the back to back cruises.

Check the ship

Once you determine if the dates line up, double-check that the cruise segments are in fact, on the same ship. This is especially important for larger cruise lines as they may have multiple itineraries going out of the same port.

If you do not care if you have to change ships, you may have more options for your second segment! Like I said earlier, you may have multiple ships leaving a port on any given day, so the odds of you finding your dream back to back cruises is high.

Choosing staterooms

Using a travel agent to guarantee that you will be in the same stateroom for all the cruise segments can save you both money and a massive headache. Otherwise, make sure to book through popular cruise sites like Cruise Direct where you can choose the exact staterooms you will be staying in.

If you are in different staterooms for the segments, you will have to pack and unpack your luggage each time you start a new cruise segment.

Is There A Discount For Back

Royal Caribbean

Generally there is no discount for doing multiple cruises in a row.

Royal Caribbean does not recognize a back-to-back cruise as anything but two separate reservations that just happen to be right after each other.

In some situations, there has been a discount offered for passengers to stay onboard for another sailing by booking the next sailing at the NextCruise office. This tends to be rare, and not something to count on being offered.

What Is A Back

When someone says they are doing a back-to-back cruise, it means they are doing multiple cruises in a row on the same ship.

Rather than get off the ship at the end of the cruise, they are remaining onboard for another sailing.

Royal Caribbean refers to such guests “Consecutive Cruisers”.

A similar concept is when someone goes on a sailing on one ship and then disembarks to board a different ship right after. That is known as a “side-to-side” cruise.

What Are Back To Back Cruises As Discount Rates Deals

The definition says it’s a combined voyage consisting of two interlinked sailings on the same ship or on different ships . It simply means taking 2 or more voyages – one right after the other. In most cases, back to back cruise deals are specials boasting cheapest-cheap discounted fares combined with last-minute discount rates. As an example, you can enjoy the following “back to back cruises Princess” ship rates with this promotion : Interior cabin , OceanView , Balcony and Mini-Suite . Back to Back cruises on Royal Caribbean, Carnival or HAL ships will cost you less than $40 PP PD for a Balcony stateroom. To be eligible for such indecently low prices you simply must postpone your booking thrill and wait until you’re ready to book two cruises, one right after the other. Again, that second sailing has to be on the same ship and also during the following week.

What Happens When One Cruise Ends And The Other Begins

Generally speaking, when one voyage ends, those passengers on back-to-back cruises will receive instructions on where to go and what to do from the ship’s guest relations team. Usually, this involves first meeting in a designated public room set aside for in-transit passengers.

Typically, back-to-back passengers also have to clear customs and complete some formalities, which can include being seen by Customs and Border Patrol officers, and might include a trip to the cruise terminal.

Back-to-back passengers who do have to make the trek to the cruise terminal are typically allowed back onboard fairly quickly, long before the other passengers on the voyage start embarking.

These days, passengers traveling on back-to-back sailings will also need to complete a negative COVID-19 test between cruises, but these are done onboard the ship before arrival into port. There’s no need to run to Walgreens or CVS on turnaround day to be retested.
