Are Ambassador A Good Choice For A British Isles Cruise

Jewel of the Seas-British Isles Cruise

Ambassador Cruise Line is a new British cruise line, sailing out of Tilbury, near London. Ambassador Cruise Lines first ship, Ambience, set sail from Tilbury in April 2022, and a second ship, Ambition will join her in 2023.

Ambassadors Ships are older, small to mid-sized classic cruise ships and say they offer a higher space to guest ratio.

Ambassador Cruise Line says it is primarily aimed at the 50-plus market. However, it will run a number of multi-generation cruises over the summer holidays. It offers a more traditional cruising experience and offers very good value for money

Peter Knego Runs & Swims With The Small Guys

Peters most memorable 2022 small-ship cruise moments

My most memorable quirky small-ship-cruise moment in 2022 were running along the Seine before attending the gala Viking Longship naming ceremony visiting the archaeological site of Petra for the first time on an excursion with Emerald Cruises Emerald Azzurra and swimming alongside Star Clippers anchored Star Clipperat Calvi, Corsica on a swelteringly hot day.

Judi Cohens Epic Year Of Small

And here are Judis most memorable quirky small-ship-cruise moments in 2022

My 2022 has been an epic year for small-ship cruising including nine cruises to Hawaii, Tahiti, the Caribbean, Great Lakes, Rideau Canal, Antarctica, New York, Halifax and Laos.

The highlights included sailing with Windstar Cruises aboard the 148-pax Wind Spiritin Tahiti and the Tuamotu Islands. It was my first Mothers Day without my mom. She passed away on January 16, 2022. I collected heart-shapes stones on shore and brought them home to place on her headstone, which is a custom in our religion.

The other highlight was returning to Antarctica for a third time on board Swan Hellenics 152-pax SH Vega. We had many laughs during our landings as it was penguin mating season! No words can adequately describe the majesty and silence of Antarctica. I can say it is one of my happiest places in the world.

Robin Mckelvie Plans More Scottish Adventures

Scotland-based Robin shares his most memorable quirky small-ship-cruise moments in 2022

2022 brought more cruises for me at home and abroad as COVID restrictions finally came to an end and cruising became more normal again.

From the Elizabeth Gand a Le Boat in Scottish waters, to a lovely canal barge cruise in Burgundy, I was grateful to be out and about on several small-ship cruises in 2022.

Quirky Cruises Robin is planning in 2023

I plan to savour a number of adventures in 2023, including checking out the new Lord of the Highlands on a remarkable journey that navigates the epic Caledonian Canal, as well as some of the Hebrides.

Ill be back aboard an old fishing vessel now converted into a very intimate small-ship cruise, for Argyll Cruising. Its under new ownership, so Im looking forward to seeing if they keep its magic as they sail the finest sailing waters in the world the Scottish islands.

Dublin Ireland Disney British Isles Cruise Port Adventures

The Disney Magic first sailed to Dublin in 2016 and its been a highly popular port stop since then. Dublin Port is located just about a mile from the vibrant city centre of Dublin, so it is possible to tour the city by yourself.

Unfortunately, Dublin is not a port stop on the Disney British Isles Cruise in 2022. It has been replaced with a port stop in Belfast.

However, there were also some excellent Disney cruise port adventures available from Dublin. I am leaving these in this article for the sake of completeness as I am confident there will be a return to Dublin in 2023.

Are Norwegian A Good Choice For A British Isles Cruise

Ive been cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line since I was a child, the thing that really keeps me coming back time and time again is the flexible approach to dining.

I love the lack of dress codes and the variety of food available.

    Entertainment And Shore Excursions

    Cruise from Dublin to Reykjavik

You can never run out of things to do on a cruise ship and onshore!

    On-Board Entertainment

Royal Princess has a wide variety of onboard entertainment that will surely keep you engaged and entertained, whatever your interests or age might be!

At first, I was a bit sceptical about the activities onboard. The silly naïve me thought that cruising can be boring and not for an outgoing type. Well, I was wrong!

The ship is massive and still cant believe that I can manage to clock in around 10,000 steps just by walking around the ship and checking out different venues of activities and entertainment.

I honestly cant fathom how many events and activities were going on onboard, especially on a Sea Day where everyone is on board!

In Royal Princess, the majority of the entertainment and activities can be found in the midship atrium area from Decks 5 to 7.

And if you fancy just staying in the comfort of your own cabin, the entertainment can be your great selection of films on your tv. Wi-Fi is also available onboard, but it can be pricey, so use it wisely.

    Shore Excursions

Everyone is looking forward to some great shore excursions when the cruise ship docks at a new port. It is one of the main activities when you go cruising unless you are a DIY person who prefers to do everything at your own pace and arrange it yourself.
