Review Of Carnival Magic
The 2011-built Carnival Magic cruise ship is one the biggest and Carnival’s second Dream-class liner, together with Breeze, Dream and Vista. With max passenger capacity 4724, Magic was the largest built for Carnival Cruise Line vessel, surpassing the 2008-built Carnival Dream. Carnival Magic was last refurbished in February 2021.
The vessel is currently Panama-flagged and registered in Colon.
IMPORTANT: Due to scheduled drydock refurbishment projects, in September 2020 CCL canceled all planned for 2020 and 2021-Q1 itineraries for 4 ships.
- Carnival Magic itineraries from Miami Florida were canceled from November 7, 2020, through March 13, 2021 .
- Carnival Paradise itineraries from Tampa Florida were canceled from November 2, 2020, through March 19, 2021 .
- Carnival Valor itineraries from NOLA New Orleans were canceled from November 2, 2020, through April 29, 2021 , including two Transatlantic crossings – from NOLA and from Barcelona .
- Carnival Spirit itineraries from Brisbane Australia were canceled from December 6, 2020, through May 16, 2021 .

The Carnival Magic is a Dream-Class ship, and is the second in the line. Her sister ships are the Carnival Dream and the Carnival Breeze, which are both currently in operation also. Like most Carnival ships, the Magic is an excellent place to have an exciting, party-filled time. Because of this, youll find that, like the other Dream-Class Ships, therere plenty of awesome amenities aboard the Carnival Magic.
One thing that many may not realize is that the Carnival Magic was the first to introduce several things to cruising world. It was the first ship to feature a Cherry on Top candy shop now a staple for Carnivals newer ships and it was actually the first cruise ship in the world to feature a ropes course. Aside from all of the aquatic fun you can have on deck, whether in the Beach Pool or the Tides Pool, theres also an awesome Sports Square, where there are plenty of activities to keep you fit and entertained.
So come take a tour of the Carnival Magic, one of the finest ships in Carnivals fleet. And just in case you were thinking this ship was mostly for adults, wait until you see what this ship has in store for your teenaged children. Youll find that at #23.
Carnival Magic Refurbishment 2016 Review
The list of changes after the ship’s 2016 drydock refurbishment includes:
was added the Alchemy Bar . Also here, the Lanai Oceanside Barbeque was replaced by the new fast-food bar named Guys Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse. The bar is complimentary and via a partnership with Guy Fieri . Guys Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse is an open-air restaurant for a variety of BBQ favorites. The menu features pork butt, blue ribbon chicken, sliced smoked beef, Guy Fieri’s traditional sides, and gourmet burgers, a variety of BBQ sauces, hot sauce bar. Signature menu items are named Mac Daddy Mac’n Cheese, Old Skool Potato Salad, Scratch-Made Slaw, Collard Greens with Smoked Turkey, Molasses Baked Beans with Bacon and Burnt Ends.
were added 2 new poolside eateries Guys Burger Joint and Bluelguana Cantina . Other new venues on Lido deck are BlueIguana Tequila Bar and the Pizzeria del Capitano .

Among the various technical enhancements implemented were shoreside power capabilities and new hull coating.
In 2021-Q1 Carnival Magic was drydocked at Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport Bahamas, mainly for general maintenance works.

Carnival Magic Drydock 2021
In 2021 Carnival Magic was drydocked at Chantier Naval de Marseille , mainly for general maintenance works.
Curiously, Magic became Carnival’s first liner to change the old hull design with the new trademarked livery introduced on Mardi Gras.
During drydock 2021, the ship’s Casino was expanded , also were refreshed the WaterWorks aquapark and Lido Deck’s swimming pools.

Carnival Magic Outdoor Spaces And Lido Deck
The outdoor spaces on the Carnival Magic are one of my favorite parts of the ship. There is a perfect spot for everyone to relax and soak up the cruise atmosphere. From the Serenity Deck for adults only to the Waterworks area perfect for kids of all ages. Make sure and stop by for a hot dog on sea days! You can even find places in the shade to relax with a good book and just watch the world go by.
Want to get active to burn off a few calories from the amazing food onboard? Not a problem! Check out the walking/jogging track or try the obstacle course hanging high in the sky!
Need a break from the sunshine? Try your hand at Bingo, take in a show, or play a game in the casino.
The atrium and lobby bar is the perfect place to relax before dinner. Catch some live music from one of the cruise bands and enjoy a frosty cocktail while waiting to enjoy dinner.
Indulge your sweet tooth at Cherry on Top! Try the gummy funnels! They are amazing.
