Concierge On An Alaskan Cruise Is One Of The Best Experiences
Unfortunately, this incredible experience comes at a price. However, you can witness breathtaking views in the heated lounge as you navigate through the straits of Alaska.
Plus, most excursions only last a few hours so you still have time to return to the port and shop/eat, as well as hang out on the boat before the ship needs to leave. It definitely didnt feel as rushed.

Is Concierge Worth It Or Not
A lot of people tend to think that the Disney Cruise Line Concierge is a waste of money.
After all, youre already paying a pretty penny for your cruise, so why spend even more on an add-on like this?
Well, quite a few benefits come with being a member of the Concierge Level.
For starters, youll have access to an exclusive lounge where you can enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages. Youll also be able to book private dining experiences and shore excursions.
Perhaps best of all, youll have a dedicated concierge at your service who can help you plan every detail of your cruise. So if youre looking for a truly magical experience, the Disney Cruise Line Concierge is worth considering.
However, my personal opinion is that experiencing the concierge level once has been more than enough. I can do without it on my Disney Cruise.

Happy Hour And Beverage Trolley
A wonderful new addition to Concierge Level is the Concierge Beverage Trolley. Every evening a bartender prepares drinks at the guests stateroom door. On the first night of our cruise, our doorbell rang. When I answered it, Andy the bartender was standing at our door way with his fancy beverage trolley. I was so excited that I had to take a picture!
Each night of our cruise at 8 pm on the dot, we eagerly awaited for Andy to arrive to our stateroom as he would present us with two different specialty drinks.
We were informed that the beverage trolley was recently implemented because of Covid. They feel that it alleviates traffic during Happy Hour in the Lounge each evening.
Happy Hour at the lounge occurs each night from 5-10pm. Complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available before both dinner seatings every night.

A Cruise Ship Adorned With Disney Details
I was awestruck as we stepped into Disney Wishs lavish 3-deck-high Grand Hall, equipped with an elegant staircase and a sparkling chandelier inspired by Cinderellas story. Memories of beloved Disney tales filled my head as it became clear we were in a floating fantasyland. Deep down, I was still the little girl enthralled by Disney princesses.
Nearly every space on the ship tells a story from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, or Marvel movies, and characters from each interact with and entertain passengers, from seniors to toddlers.
He was delighted whenever costumed characters appeared but preferred to view them from afar. Once, when Cinderella waved from a lobby balcony, I suggested that George call her name to get her attention. Grandmom, she has a right to wave at who she wants to, he replied. I was properly chastised.

My sister, our two friends and I left Walt Disney World after 8 days in the parks and drove down to Port Canaveral. Being concierge meant that we did not have a specific boarding time and we could check in at the concierge desk . After checking in, we were able to relax in the lounge area in the terminal reserved for concierge guests. Once the ship was cleared we were led on board and up to the lounge on deck 12.
Disney Wonder Concierge 1 Bedroom Suite With Verandah
These Category T staterooms sleep up to 5 guests and have 614 square feet of space.
These suites have a separate bedroom with a Queen size bed and a separate living room with a double sofa bed.
All the suites also have a pull-down twin bed. Some are in the living area, others in the bedroom.
The suites with the pull-down bed in the living area are priced higher than the ones where the bed is in the Queen bedroom.
A very desirable feature of the suite is that it has 2 bathrooms. The verandah is a very spacious double the width of standard verandahs on the ship.

Access To The Disney Concierge Lounge
This is located on Deck 10 of the Disney Wonder. You must use your Key to the World to access it and non-concierge guests are not allowed to enter.
Your Disney Concierge staff are located in the Lounge and will help you in any way that they can to secure reservations, help with questions and just generally do anything possible to make your cruise even more magical.
The Disney Wonder Concierge Lounge has a large seating area with fabulous views of the outside.
Light snacks are available throughout the day and there is a refrigerator with help-your-self soft beverages which is kept stocked all day.
The legendary coffee maker is also available for guests.
In the evening there are complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages served by the very knowledgeable and always helpful bar staff. They will know your favorite tipple by the second day.
There is also an outside seating area which is great for soaking up the sun or just taking in the views.
A relatively new feature is that Concierge Guests are also seated in the Walt Disney Theatre before the doors open so you can grab the best seats. They also give you complimentary popcorn to enjoy in the show.
Concierge status also gives you priority boarding on embarkation and priority disembarkation.
What Is Disney Concierge Level
Disney Cruise Line’s concierge level is similar in some ways to a club level room at a Disney World or Disneyland resort hotel. You’re going to pay more in exchange for access to a lounge and extra services. However, the extras for concierge service on a Disney ship actually go much further than a club room at the Disney parks.

To access Disney Concierge Level on a Disney Cruise, you have to book at least a verandah-level room, and even then, not all verandah rooms come with the concierge-level option. The cheapest concierge rooms I’ve seen start in the mid-$3,000s for a short sailing for two people. Prices go up to tens of thousands of dollars for concierge level in larger staterooms or on longer sailings.
Those who decide to spend the extra cash will be spoiled with earlier booking dates for excursions, activities, special onboard meals and offerings, the ability to lock-in cabanas at Disney private island Castaway Cay, etc. Concierge guests also have a private lounge to utilize on the ship and special access to some extras that make sailing with Disney even more comfortable.

Stateroom Dining And Extra Amenities
Once you arrive in your Concierge stateroom, you will notice a fresh fruit basket as well as a fully stocked refrigerator, which includes soft drinks and Evian bottled water. For non-concierge guests, bottled water is never free, and sodas are only complimentary in the restaurants or at the self-serve drink station by the pool.
Also, in addition to the standard room service menu, you can order any of the food being offered in the main dining rooms directly to your stateroom. Just coordinate your order with your Concierge host the day before .
On disembarkation day, only Concierge guests are allowed to order room service for breakfast. All other guests must dine in Cabanas or in one of the main dining rooms. Again, just provide your order to a Concierge host the night before.
Another fantastic amenity offered to Concierge guests is free 100MB to use on Disney Cruise Lines Connect@Sea WiFi network. This 100MB is in addition to the free 50MB that any guest can get by logging in to Connect@Sea on the first day of the cruise. Side note: 150MB was plenty for my husband and I to share during our five-night cruise on the Disney Magic. We made sure to have our phones in airplane mode throughout the day and to only check emails and log into social media accounts once in the evening. We did not send or upload any large attachments because that quickly would have used up our free allotment.
All Concierge guests are provided with plush robes and slippers in their staterooms.
Whats Included In Concierge Level Disney Cruise
When Disney Cruise Line added the Dream and Fantasy to their fleet they focused on making their Concierge product even more compelling. After recent refurbishments, there are now a Disney Wonder and Disney Magic Concierge Lounge, too.
The experience starts before your vacation begins with pre-arrival services that enable priority on reserving onboard activities, the port adventures , dining reservations, and beach cabanas on Disneys private island, Castaway Cay.
On embarkation day, you get priority boarding and are among the first guests to board the ship. Non-Concierge guests are given an arrival window to avoid everybody slamming into the terminal at the same time.
Adjacent to Concierge staterooms is a Concierge Lounge with light snacks and beverages throughout the day and complimentary beer, wine and cocktails in the evening.
The Lounge is where youll interact with your Concierge Hosts, probably the single best thing about the Concierge experience, who can help with just about any request you might have onboard.
Above the Lounge is a Concierge sundeck, an uncrowded space to relax outdoors with hot tubs, cooling misters, and beverages.
On their face, Concierge benefits might not seem like much. But during the cruise at every turn I felt like some invisible hand was guiding us to have the time of our lives. So many little things were just subtle, andwell better.

Tipping At The End Of A Disney Cruise
On the last day of your Disney cruise, you can see all your stateroom charges on your account. This will include the automatic gratuities unless you have already prepaid them.
Your Stateroom Steward will leave some envelopes in your room. These are for your Server, Assistant Server, Head Server, and Room Steward.
Along with the envelopes, you will have a sheet of card which shows how much is going to each person. You can use these to put them in the envelopes to give to each person.
You can also use the envelopes to put additional cash in to give to your team as well.
You do not have to use the envelopes at all unless you want to.

All of the automatic gratuities will be charged to your onboard account. Always double-check that you agree with your final charges.
Ideally, dont wait until the final evening of your cruise to do this. Everyone else will be doing this, so the lines for Guest Services will be longer than at any other time on the cruise!

Concierge Services still accepts requests at midnight 125 days prior to your cruise date, ahead of all other cruisers including Platinum Castaway Club members who can begin reserving activities 120 days prior to sail.

I will start off this blog post with a warning! Once you have sailed concierge on a Disney Cruise, it is very. Very. Hard to go back! So, tread cautiously
Concierge is amazing! And its expensive. Prices will vary greatly based on destination, cruise length, and the number of people in a stateroom. As much as I love concierge, I most definitely cannot afford it every time I sail. There are times when you could take multiple cruises for the same price as an upgrade. The price for a 12-night European sailing in concierge will probably make you lose your breath. Its hard to believe there are people that pay that, but pay it they do. Concierge sells out all the time. And for some people, its worth it.
Im much more likely to do it when Im splitting the cost with a friend than I am when its my family and Im paying for the whole room. But when it works with my budget, Im all in, and I dont ever regret it. Here are 10 reasons why.
2. Early Onboard Concierge guests are the first guests onboard. If you like being first concierge is for you! Theres a special check-in area, and in most terminals, Disney has a special reserved seating area or lounge for concierge guests. Before any other numbers are called, someone comes to get those concierge guests first. First! Winner winner chicken dinner!
