Getting There From The Airport
Most cruise lines offer shuttle service from Orlando International Airport and Sanford International Airport it often comes with luggage service as well, transporting your bags directly to your cabin. Some cruise lines include the service with cruise packages others charge a fee, so check with your cruise line.
There are also multiple private shuttle options available. Mears Transportation is the preferred provider at Orlando International Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport. It offers transfers by sedan, SUV or van, but multiple companies offer the service. In all cases, reservations need to be made in advance, and rates shift depending on how many people are in the party. Expect to pay more for shuttles from Sanford International Airport, as it is 15 or so miles farther from the port.

Port Canaveral Hotels With Cruise Port Shuttles
While only a few hotels offer packages with shuttles from the Orlando airport to Port Canaveral, many more offer shuttles to the cruise terminal. If you like, you can arrange your own transportation from the airport to the hotel and then hop on one of these shuttles to and from the cruise port.
Since most people book parking packages with free transportation included, you might have to pay a small fee to take the shuttle without the package. Uber/Lyft are also available and cost about $10-15 to get to the port.
Note: If you dont plan to park a car during your cruise, dont book a parking package just for shuttle access. Its much more expensive. Simply pay for the shuttle separate or book an Uber/Lyft.
Courtyard by Marriott Cocoa BeachShuttle: $7 per personThis hotel offers a great location between the main road through Cocoa Beach and the beach itself. Guests are only an easy 10 minutes from the port and a short distance away from restaurants and things to do.
The Courtyard offers a ride to the cruise terminal at a price of $7 one way or $12 round trip. Departures are at 10:15, 11:15, and 12:15.
Note that the Econo Lodge is on Merritt Island between the mainland and the beach and about 20 minutes from the cruise port.

Getting Acquainted With The Cruise Port
Starting out, it helps to have an overview of the port before you get there. The port is located about 45 minutes due east of Orlando, on Cape Canaveral. Dont worry about not being able to find it. There is only one road from Orlando to Cape Canaveral Florida 528 .
The Beachline take you directly to Port Canaveral. Weve highlighted it below:
Assuming you are coming from Orlando, once you reach Cape Canaveral , you will see a roadsign giving you two options. You can either stay on the Beachline to head toward the B cruise terminals or you can exit to your right to go to the A cruise terminals.
The A terminal is where the large cruise ships Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival make their home. You will take this exit to your right and make a large loop around. Once you make the loop, you will see the cruise ships almost directly ahead of you.
Continue down this road and you will head straight until you are almost past all the cruise terminals. Eventually you will see a large blue sign listing all the cruise lines with an arrow that tells you to veer to the right. Just past that, you will see a single lane exiting to the right. This exit will lead you to the cruise terminals.
To know where to go next, you need an overview of the cruise terminals at Port Canaveral. While the port is large, each of the major cruise line has its own dedicated terminals.
Carnival uses terminals 5& 6. Disney uses terminal 8. Royal Caribbean uses terminal 10.

When Will Florida Cruise Ship Ports Reopen In The Wake Of Hurricane Ian
A day after Hurricane Ian slammed into the Florida coast as a Category 4 storm, three home ports for cruise ships in the state Port Tampa Bay, Jacksonvilles JAXPort and Port Canaveral remain closed to marine traffic.
The closures have forced five cruise lines to cancel voyages out of the three ports scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
At the same time, two of Floridas three largest ports PortMiami and Fort Lauderdales Port Everglades are back open with cruise departures scheduled to take place as normal over the next few days.

The three ports that are closed were the closest cruise ports to the track of Hurricane Ian, which swept across Florida from west to east on Wednesday and Thursday.
The storm made landfall Wednesday more than 100 miles south of Port Tampa Bay, which was the cruise port closest to where the storm came ashore with winds of around 150 mph. The storm weakened considerably as it moved across the state to the vicinity of Port Canaveral.
Now much diminished, its currently moving northward over the Atlantic on a course that will take it to the east of Jacksonville.
None of the three ports that are closed were directly in the path of Hurricane Ian, which has caused devastating destruction and loss of life in parts of Southwest Florida.

Port Canaveral Hotel Cruise Parking
If youre staying in Cocoa Beach, there are some locations that offer Port Canaveral cruise parking. The Holiday Inn Express, Country Inn, Radisson Resort, and other hotels will let you leave your vehicle during your vacation.
However, these packages are often much more expensive than leaving your car at a cruisetime parking facility. If youre cruising on a budget or want to save up for some souvenirs, hotel parking is NOT the way to go.
