Further Changes Are Possible

The situation worldwide is changing weekly, and cruise lines are working with the relevant authorities for a safe return. Its all very fluid, and the restart dates may change even further. The CDC has been making some adjustments recently with relaxing masks and social distancing rules for vaccinated guests.

Norwegian Cruise Line still plans to restart in August from Florida but parent company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings recently filed a lawsuit against Florida on the states vaccine passport ban. The result of this could have an impact on any protocols the line implements.

The ongoing saga between the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Florida has still not been resolved. In fact, just recently, the CDC successfully got a hold on Florida being allowed to overrule its Conditional Sailing Order. On July 19, the Florida Governor said it will come out on top and could take its lawsuit against the CDC as far as the supreme court.

Cruise Hive will continue to monitor any new developments, so keep checking this detailed page for when cruises resume, not just this year but in 2022.

Crafted is a marketspecializing in handmade goods from local artisans. They also offer classesfrom those artisans. Its best feature, though, is its free parking. Youllhave to walk a bit to get from the parking lot here to the cruise terminal, butthe payoff is that you wont be paying for parking at all.

If you prefer not to walk, youcould simply park here and take an Uber, Lyft, or taxi up to the Cruise Center.Itll still be cheaper than paying for parking.

Royal Caribbeans Navigator Of The Seas First Of A Flotilla Of Cruise Ships Returning To Port Of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES The Royal Caribbean is returning to the Port of Los Angeles for the first time in 10 years.

The Navigator of the Seas arrived Friday to much fanfare for its first passenger sailing out of Los Angeles. The massive cruise ship will leave the Port of Los Angeles with passengers Friday night, not just for the first time since the pandemic but for the first time in a decade.

The arrival of the Navigator of the Seas which boasts the largest waterslide at sea, a renovated pool deck, and new nightlife venues heralds a new phase of cruise travel for the Port of Los Angeles.

We will have more than 200 sailings on schedule for 2022, and thats the most weve had since pre-recessionary days, said Gene Seroka, executive director of the Port of LA.

Royal Caribbean pulled out of Los Angeles years ago due to low demand for its sailings. But when the pandemic shut down the cruise industry entirely, Royal Caribbean reassessed their itineraries and found opportunity in Los Angeles again.

Its obvious to recognize that people are excited to be traveling again, Royal Caribbean Vice President Russell Benford said. And cruising has proven to be one of the safest options out there.

The influx of cruise ships is expected to be an economic boon for the Los Angeles waterfront. Port officials say a busy cruise weekend with three or four ships in port can bring as many as 20,000 travelers, generating more than $1 million in economic activity.

Royal Caribbean in 2023 will mark the 25th anniversary of the cruise lines loyalty program with a years worth of festivities and new amenity rollouts. The announcement follows on the heels of the lines decision to end popular frequent-cruiser perks on several ships.

After more than a decade, Royal Caribbean International is resuming homeport operations in Los Angeles.

Setting sail on its first post-pandemic cruise today, the Navigator of the Seas is marking the companys return to the West Coast with a seven-night cruise from LAs World Cruise Center.

Sailing to three ports in Mexico, the first voyage includes calls in Mazatlán, Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.

With departures currently scheduled through April 2023, the year-round program also features a variety of short three-, four- and five-night cruises to additional destinations, including Catalina Island, California, and Ensenada, Mexico.

A Voyager-class vessel, the Navigator of the Seas originally entered service in 2002. Extensively refurbished in the past, it drydocked in Cádizs Navantia shipyard this summer for maintenance work and cosmetic enhancements.

One of the vessels most iconic features, the Royal Promenade, was also reimagined, with the creation of new restaurants, retail and nightlife.

Where Do Cruise Ships Dock In San Diego

San Diego has two cruise ship piers located on the Embarcadero just minutes from the San Diego International Airport and the downtown Gaslamp Quarter entertainment district.

Depending on the date and cruise line, different piers are used for different cruises. Luckily, both the B Street Pier & Cruise Ship Terminal and Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier. B Street Pier is the larger of the two and is where the majority of cruise ships dock, this is especially true of the larger vessels like those from Holland America Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises, and Carnival.
