Pretty much everybody knows that one of the biggest draws on any cruise ship is the food. The Disney Wish is no exception, with three outstanding main dining restaurants, two elegant adult-only dining options, and plenty of places to grab a quick meal or a snack on the go.

One of the things I look forward to on every cruise is my daily breakfast thats because in addition to the usual bacon and eggs, I can enjoy things I cant normally get stateside like a hearty bowl of European muesli with dried fruits and nuts, or even an Asian-inspired breakfast fried rice and miso porridge.
At dinner, Ill eagerly try something new and maybe even a little scary because it doesnt cost anything extra to try! Occasionally my suspicions that I wont like something are confirmed in no uncertain terms, but most of the time I find myself pleasantly surprised. Turns out I absolutely love escargot who knew?!
Either way, Ive tried something new and the worst possible outcome is one unpleasant bite that didnt lighten my wallet by a single penny. So go ahead order the pâté and broaden those cultural and culinary horizons! You might just surprise yourself with how sophisticated your palate can be!

Mickey & Friends Festival Of Foods
Located right in the middle of the fun on the upper decks, Mickey and Friends Festival of Foods is the perfect place for families to grab a quick bite for lunch, dinner, or anytime in between. Avid Disney cruisers will be particularly pleased by the mix of fan-favorite treats, like Disney Cruise Lines signature soft-serve ice cream, with two brand-new selections: The Disney Wish features the fleets first dedicated quick-service venues for barbeque and Mexican-inspired fare.
Also offering delectable American classics and other snackable delights, this open-air eatery comprises five uniquely themed food stalls: Mickeys Smokestack Barbecue, Donalds Cantina, Daisys Pizza Pies, Goofys Grill, and Sweet Minnies Ice Cream.
The whimsical design is inspired by the seaside boardwalk setting featured in popular Mickey Mouse animated shorts, a fitting addition to the Mickey and Friends-themed family district on the upper decks. A sizable, shaded seating area provides convenient and comfortable accommodations for families to relax and enjoy their meals.
Disney Halloween On The High Seas Cruise Review
We just returned from a 3-day trip on Disney Wish and share it all with you in our signature Disney Halloween on the High Seas Cruise Review.
Disney Wish is Disney Cruise Lines 5th ship. This 144K gross ton vessel is DCLs first new ship in over a decade and now the largest ship in the fleet. This new vessel features a number of new dining concepts, onboard amenities, and one-of-a-kind features that kids and adults alike will enjoy.
We first sailed on Disney Wish a few months ago for a 3-day Bahamas cruise. As our first Disney cruise, we couldnt wait to get back onboard this ship. So, we booked another cruise for my birthday. Now, we have returned from our second sailing and share it all with you in our signature day-by-day Disney Halloween on the High Seas Cruise Review.
Halloween on the High Seas is available on select cruises in September and October across the Disney Cruise Line fleet. Similar to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party in the Disney parks, Halloween on the High Seas includes holiday themed activities and character meet and greets along with all the cruise staples.
From the pumpkin tree in the Grand Hall to Mickeys Mouse-querade party and Disney characters donned in their Halloween costumes, Halloween on the High Seas is fun for all ages. Additionally, there are other activities held in the kids and teens areas throughout the cruise.

Reimagined Kids Clubs On The Disney Wish For Each Age Group
Each Disney Cruise has four kids clubs:
- Its a Small World Nursery for ages 6 months to 3 years
- Oceaneer Club ages 3 -12
- Edge for ages 11 14
- Vibe for ages 14 17
The kids clubs on the Disney Wish are redesigned and have new features. The Oceaneer Club is especially unique on the Disney Wish, with a clear slide that goes from deck 3 to deck 2.
Parents can check-in their kids on deck 3 and let them slide down to the reception desk at Oceaneer Club on deck 2. The slide is one curve, going from one deck to the other, so it is nothing too intense. Still, if your kiddo prefers to use the stairs, that is an option as well.
Once inside the Disney Wish Oceaneer Club there are five themed rooms, including a Star Wars room, a Marvel room, and Princess room, and more!
And for older kids, the Edge space and Vibe space are an ingenious balance of places to hang out with new friends or relax on their own. There are card games, board games, TVs, and other entertainment. Plus some pretty cool ocean views.

Our Review Of Disney Wish Staterooms
Our reviewers felt that the Disney Wish staterooms were generally a welcome evolution to the staterooms found onboard the Disney Dream and Fantasy.
The rooms struck a nice balance between being a simple refresh of the existing stateroom plans versus a more-radical reimagining of everything. There was innovation to be found, but there was not necessarily any change just for the sake of changing.
With the same general features but updated, fresher decor they offered a bright retreat that never felt dark or enclosed. Theres still plenty of room to stow luggage and belongings so you can truly move in for the length of your cruise. Split bathrooms, which are crucial to the morning getting ready routing, remain as a standard feature in almost every category.
Some innovations came with slight drawbacks. Compared to staterooms on earlier ships, we were happy to notice larger televisions but with less of an ability to articulate them to face toward where you are sitting. And theres a new drawer-style refrigerator, which is perfectly fine for cans of soda, but may or may not be convenient for other items youre chilling.

Halloween On The High Seas On Disney Wish
Back onboard the ship, we took some time to relax and cool off.
Tonight was when all the Halloween on the High Seas fun was occurring. Since we didnt want to miss any of it, we decided to just grab a casual dinner prior to our 6 PM showing of Aladdin in the main theater.
Showered up and ready for our last night on Disney Wish, we made a return trip to the Festival of Foods. A miss on this ship is that the Marceline Market is not open for dinner.
This time, we grabbed selections from Goofys Grill and Daisys Pizza Pies. At the Grill, I went with chicken tenders and Don with the grilled bratwurst. These selections are definitely on par with quick service in Disney parks and better than most cruise ship buffet selections. Although, the pizza is not among our favorites at sea. That award still goes to Princess Cruises and Virgin Voyages.
After dinner, we grabbed some popcorn in our refillable popcorn bucket and headed to the final show in the Walt Disney Theater. TIP: If you bring your popcorn bucket from the Disney parks, it is only $1.50 for refills.
Disneys Aladdin A Musical Spectacular was not ready for our last sailing on Disney Wish back in July, so we were excited to see this show. This adaptation of Aladdin was very entertaining with plenty of Disney humor courtesy of the Genie. It was certainly our favorite of the three main theater shows.

Wonderland And Never Land Cinemas
The Disney Wish will elevate the onboard cinematic experience with two intimate screening rooms steeped in Disney storytelling. These boutique cinemas will be the first in the cruise industry to offer Dolby Atmos 3D audio technology for the most immersive movie-going experience on the high seas.
At 84 and 86 seats respectively, the Wonderland and Never Land cinemas offer guests more options than ever before to watch classic and first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and more.
- Wonderland Cinema is inspired by the fantastical world of Alice in Wonderland, with nods to the otherworldly creatures and distinctive characters who inhabit the ever-curiouser Tulgey Wood. The woodland motif will continue into the ceiling to create the feeling that guests are peering up through the enchanted tree canopy above.
- Never Land Cinema is inspired by Peter Pans flight from London to Never Land, sweeping guests up in their own flight of fantasy, past the second star to the right and straight into the magical world of movies. As guests revisit iconic scenes such as Skull Rock and Mermaid Lagoon, the venues night-sky color palette will light up with the flutter of Tinker Bells wings.
Disney Wish Casting Call Searching For Multiple Musician Roles
This week Disney Auditions put out a casting call for musicians interested in performing in various roles onboard date Disney Wish. Roles include musicians for Arendelle dinner show, Pirates Rockin Parlay Party, Nightingales pianist, musical entertainment in The Bayou, and other smaller sets. Rehearsals are expected to begin mid-April 2023 with onboard contracts are expected to span from mid-May 2023 to mid-December 2023.

Pirates Rockin Parlay Party And Fireworks At Sea
Pirate Night holds a place of honor on many Disney Cruise itineraries, and the Disney Wish is no exception. And once again, Disney Wishs version seems to add just a little extra to the experience you find onboard the other ships.
The Disney Wishs version of the pirate party features a rollicking rock-and-roll soundtrack of live music, remarkable stunts, special effects, and plenty of surprises. The show is heralded by Captain Redd, descendant of the famous red-headed icon from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. She and a band of head-banging buccaneers provide the soundtrack for an unforgettable night that includes Captain Jack Sparrow and the industry-first fireworks display at sea.

The Waterslide Is More Than Just A Waterslide
If youve sailed on Disney Dream or Disney Fantasy, youve likely experienced the AquaDuck waterslide.
Disney is calling the AquaMouse the first-ever Disney attraction at sea, which is a big statement for a company that knows attractions.
The AquaMouse, which any cruiser who is at least 42 inches tall can ride, features show scenes, lighting effects, a dark tunnel, an original soundtrack and more than 60 water effects for a two-minute ride that spans 760 feet of tubing above the upper decks .
The waterslide had a few issues on our preview cruise, so not all the effects were working, but my understanding is that the two storylines will be available on a schedule of alternating days.
These shows are done in the same style as the newer Mickey shorts and what is featured at Hollywood Studios Mickey & Minnies Runaway Railway. The cartoon scenes take place across multiple 85-inch screens during the 75 seconds you are traveling up the tunnel while you get soaked in a raft built for two.
At the height of the show, you blast out of the tunnel and embark on a water ride around the upper decks. This ride also includes a series of speed blasters before its grand finale: a soaring loop over the edge of the ship. As an added bonus, you won’t have to carry your own raft to the start of the ride.
I’m not sure the experience was so different than AquaDuck to label it a full-on attraction like you’d find in the theme parks, but it is certainly a waterslide worth checking out.
Fun In The Sun For The Whole Family
In addition to AquaMouse, families will have more pools, more deck space, and more dining than ever before in an expansive pool district themed to Mickey and friends.
Located on decks 11 and 12 midship, this area includes six pools of various sizes and depths, spaciously staggered among tiered decks and surrounded by lounge chairs to provide families with space to stretch out and soak up the sunshine. Throughout the day, guests can enjoy a variety of poolside entertainment on Funnel Vision, a jumbo LED display that screens Disney movies, TV shows, live sporting events, and more. Another family pool is available on deck 14 forward for guests seeking a more laid-back environment.

Shows And Entertainment On The Disney Cruise Liner
The Luna theater on the Disney Wish.
Disney will have a wide range of entertainment offerings on its fifth cruise liner. Here’s what we know:
- The Walt Disney Theater: The main theater will showcase an Aladdin musical that includes a new song for Jasmine an original production of The Little Mermaid including projections and puppetry and an embarkation day show with Captain Minnie, Goofy, Tiana, Elsa, Merida, Moana, Hercules, Nemo, Crush, Squirt and more Disney and Pixar characters.
- Luna: Described by Disney as day-to-night entertainment, this area will resemble an “enchanted fairytale village” with decor based on Pixar short La Luna. It’ll be used to host Villains Game Night, a trivia night featuring Disney’s favorite villains Disney Songbook, a karaoke-style event and Disney Uncharted Adventure, an interactive experience using phones with augmented reality to battle a villain.
- A game show called Who’s Behind the Curtain.
- Disney Princess meet and greets.
- Fireworks at sea.
- Pirate deck party hosted by Captain Redd from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, with an appearance by Captain Jack Sparrow.
Mickey And Minnie Captains Deck
Mickey and Minnie Captains Deck features a nautical-themed playground filled with sensory games and activities. Kids are able to visit with Mickey and Minnie!

During Minnies Captain Academy, little ones can get their wiggles out through a training session filled with games, dancing, and drills tied to STEAM concepts. Captain Minnie will even proclaim the graduates to be honorary captains!

Disney Wish Cruise Canceled Due To Hurricane Ian Port Closure
Disney Wish will not sail the planned September 30 cruise, and instead will extend its current sailing to stay away from Hurricane Ian.
As Hurricane Ian continues to impact Floridas cruise ports and is forecast to have a stronger impact on central Florida, including Orlando and Port Canaveral, Disney Cruise Line has canceled the September 30 sailing of their newest ship, Disney Wish.
