The tallest slide at sea, the Ultimate Abyss isn’t a water slide, but rather a dry-mat one. Riding down the 10-story drop was one of the most fun things I did on board.
Walking up through the giant fish head with a see-through floor was actually scarier than going down but the ocean views from the top were pretty epic.
There were also so many sounds and lights during the ride that I felt like I was transported to another universe.

The ship was built in Finland and is owned by Royal Caribbean International. Its maiden voyage is scheduled for early December 2009. The ship is stationed in Fort Lauderdale Florida, from where it will go on week-long cruises of the Caribbean Sea.
The Oasis of the Seas has virtually everything a tourist can dream of. Biggest attraction is a giant open-air theatre for 750 passengers that is a swimming pool by day and an entertainment arena at night. Passengers can wander through a park full of real trees and exotic plants, eat and drink in 24 restaurants or travel up and down between decks in a movable bar. There is something for everyone: a small golf course, a basketball court, an ice rink and two rock-climbing walls for those looking for athletic activities. The worlds biggest-ever cruise ship, the 120,000-tonne Harmony of the Seas, has opened its doors to reveal a vast floating town as it was handed over by a French shipyard to its American owners.
At 66 metres , it is the widest cruise ship ever built, while its 362m length makes it 50 metres longer than the height of the Eiffel Tower.
The huge vessel, which cost close to $1bn to build, has 16 decks and will be able to carry 6,360 passengers and 2,100 crew members.
The ship was built for the US-based Royal Caribbean Cruises Limited by the STX France yard in Saint-Nazaire on the Atlantic coast, where a ceremony marked the handover on Thursday.
Its not only the biggest cruise ship in the world, its also the most expensive ever built, said Richard Fain, head of RCCL, during a ceremony which featured blaring music and tightrope walkers performing splits over the aquatheatre at the back of the ship.
Among the onboard attractions are The Ultimate Abyss, a 10-storey slide from the top deck to the main deck which RCCL bills as the worlds biggest ship-mounted waterslide.
A giant climbing wall, a rope slide, mini-golf, surf simulator, floating jacuzzis, casino and 1,400-seat theatre playing Broadway musicals are among the other attractions.
Two robot barmen will serve passengers in the Bionic Bar.
Msc Grandiosa & Msc Virtuosa
MSC Grandiosa and MSC Virtuosa are both part of the huge Meraviglia-class making them jointly the ninth biggest cruise ships in the world.
MSC Virtuosa was delivered on February 1, 2021, and is set to begin cruising in the Mediterranean in April 2021. She features the worlds first Humanoid Robotic Bartender at Sea!
The ship is the first Meraviglia-Plus class and was built at the Chantiers de lAtlantique shipyard in France and delivered at the end of October 2019. She was christened in Hamburg, Germany and has been sailings since November 10, 2019, excluding the 2020 industry shutdown.

Harmony of the Seas is an Oasis-class cruise ship that was built by STX France for the Royal Caribbean International which is one of the biggest and best cruise lines in the world. It has a gross tonnage of 226,963 and was built after the success of her older sisters Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. Until 2018, it was the largest cruise ship in the world.
It was ordered on 12 December 2012 and was completed nearly four years later. On March 10, 2016, it began its first sea trials and was delivered to Royal Caribbean on May 12 of the same year. The construction took a solid 32 months. 70,000 people attended its first sail that took place three days later from STX France docks in Saint-Nazaire.
It has a length of 362.12 m or 1,188 ft and a depth of 74 ft.
Harmony of the Seas has various types of staterooms totaling to 2,747 and can accommodate 5,479 guests. Some of these rooms and suites have 80-inch screens that cover almost the entire floor and ceiling and act as virtual balconies as they show the surroundings of the ship as if through a massive window.
As expected, the Harmony of the seas has various amenities, the most notable of which are a dry slide by the name Ultimate Abyss and a water slide called Perfect Storm.

Royal Caribbeans Wonder Of The Seas The Worlds Largest Cruise Ship Is Ideal For A Nervous First
Iâve always been a go-big-or-go-home type of person, so taking the maiden voyage on Royal Caribbeanâs Wonder of the Seas, the worldâs largest cruise ship, in April was an absolute must. Funny thing is, Iâd never been a cruise person, despite having never been on one that is, until this Caribbean sailing.
The trip was scheduled for late March 2020, so needless to say, it was put on ice as the COVID-19 pandemic halted the industry. But fast-forward almost exactly two years later, I decided to give it a go again on Royal Caribbeanâs new 1,188-foot-long ship.
It turns out, the things I initially thought I disliked about cruising are what I enjoyed most during the seven-day journey that sailed from Fort Lauderdale to Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas.
Perhaps the result of my travel being paused for nearly two years, but coordinating a trip itinerary felt overwhelming. On Wonder of the Seas, however, all of that was taken care of to an extent.
Before embarkation everyone was encouraged to download the Royal Caribbean app, which essentially became my social lifeline. It had everything laid out, from activities to the calendar to a breakdown of the dining roomâs rotating menus.
I have a notoriously horrible sense of direction, so navigating not just a ship, but the worldâs largest, was challenging on the first day. That said, the spaciousness meant I didnât have to feel overwhelmed.

While both ships were built to the exact same specifications, technically the Allure of the Seas is 2.0 inches longer than the Oasis of the Seas. But, were including both as our Second Biggest Cruise Ship in 2019.
The Oasis was the first of the Oasis Class ships built in 2009 and truly broke the mold for huge vessels. Before the Oasis, nothing close to that size had been seen in passenger vessels.
Innovations never before seen were introduced with this class. Included was the Rising Tide bar, which spans three decks and the Flowrider surfing simulator. The ship offers unique neighborhoods that vary drastically, like Central Park, the Boardwalk, and the Royal Promenade.
