Helen M & Charlotte Lady
The Helen M and Charlotte Lady are twin sister tour boats used for King Fisher Fleets sightseeing cruises. They were custom built for King Fisher Fleet by Scarano Shipbuilding in Albany, New York at a boatyard on the Hudson River. Their maiden voyages were a doozy: their delivery from Albany to Punta Gorda, Florida was via the Atlantic intracoastal waterway and the Okeechobee Waterway. They were designed specifically for running excursions on Charlotte Harbor and the Peace River and their construction was overseen by the U.S. Coast Guard to ensure that they are safe, stable and suited for this service. Their hull and superstructure is aluminum and they are powered by two environmentally friendly and fuel efficient John Deere diesel engines which meet the latest EPA Tier Three emissions standards. These quiet, reliable engines are rated at 250 Hp each. Helen M entered service in August 2019. Charlotte Lady entered service in 2016. These stately vessels will be seen on Charlotte Harbor for many years to come.

We picked a great night to take the sunset cruise into Charlotte Harbor. This very affordable 1 1/2 hr. Cruise was loaded with local history and a friendly crew. Highly recommend!

Relocated to the area April, 2014 and still love to stroll through Fisherman’s Village. Love the Pressed Olive with their fantastic oils and vinegars, it should be a must on everyone’s visit. Booked a fishing charter with Captain Mitch and was NOT disappointed. We caught enough for two dinners. I booked another charter for the following week and again, he produced the fish. Captain Mitch knows where to find them even when they aren’t biting!! And although they are part and parcel of what some might consider a “tourist trap”, the price is lower than some of the independents I looked into. This place offers something for everyone. Docked there the other weekend and had a memorable time with friends from out of town. The prices may be higher than some lesser venues, but definitely in line with comparable establishments. Great candy, great yogurt, great seafood, great shops.
We spent a half day at Fisherman’s Village in and out of the quaint shops and then enjoying a nice lunch in one of the nice ocean view restaurants there. The wharf was clean and well maintained. It was very touristy but what the heck, we were tourists that day. A nice change of pace in a pretty area.

Military Heritage Museum
A state-of-the-art Military Heritage Museum is located just minutes from Fishermens Village at 900 W. Marion Avenue, Punta Gorda. The Museum promotes understanding and respect for the rich military heritage of the United States and the sacrifices made by our countrys veterans, living and dead.
Military Heritage Museum Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. The Museum is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Believed to be the inspiration behind Jimmy Buffets song, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Cabbage Key is a classic old Florida hide-a-way. The island has an Inn and Restaurant, built in 1938 by American playwright Mary Roberts Rinehart. The restaurant, which sits on top of a Calusa Indian shell mound, offers panoramic views of the island and Pine Island Sound as well as delicious seafood, steaks, cheeseburgers and desserts. The walls are lined with signed dollar bills Ask your captain how the tradition got started! There is also a short nature trail and water tower to climb. Pine Island Sound is rich in fishing culture and history. As you cruise Pine Island Sound you will get an up-close look at the historic fish houses and learn about the Calusa and Spanish-Cuban Ranchos of the past, as well as Tarpon sport fishing, which has been popular for generations.
Once on Pine Island, enjoy lunch at the charming and historic Tarpon Lodge.
