My hubby and I are planning a cruise to Alaska on Princess in July 2019. At home we sleep in a king bed, and dong generally sleep well in a Queen. We are likely to book an ocean view cabin, which I am reading comes with either a queen bed or twins that can be pushed together to make a queen bed. I generally thought two twins pushed together make a king bed. Are the twins smaller on. Cruise ship? Whats a girl got to do to get a king bed on a princess cruise ship? If youre expecting the sort of mattress and bed that youd find at a five-star hotel, then you should temper your expectations. Cruise ship beds are designed more for utility than comfort. With thousands of passengers coming in and out each week, beds see a lot of turnover.
That means cruise line beds need to be able to be configured as one king-sized bed or two smaller beds. They also need to be able to be moved quickly by a single room steward instead of being a heavy mattress that requires multiple people to move.
Beds are thinner and lighter than what you might find in a traditional hotel. For instance, the bed frame is a simple metal frame with a wire mesh to support the bed. The mattress simply sits right on top of the metal.

Delivery Issues And Concerns
The charge for delivery includes removal. What if I do not need removal? May I pay less?
No. The delivery fee is in the cost of the mattress. We offer the removal of the old mattresses at no additional cost as an added service to our customers.
The delivery agent would not take my old mattress away.
Agents will not haul away an old mattress if it is determined to be overly soiled. It is at the agents discretion.

Agents are only in certain areas on certain days and not all provide delivery service on weekends. Requests are honored whenever possible.
I live close to a Sherwood plant. May I pick up the mattress myself?
No plant pickups are permitted to protect the safety of our customers.
Are the bedding items/package and mattress shipped together?
No, any bedding items ordered with a mattress will ship out within 24-48 hours via FedEx. FedEx does not require a signature, so if you are not available the packages will be left.The mattress will be delivered through a 3rd party delivery company at a later date, since the mattresses are made to order.

The commissioned Princess Cruises 2019 Relaxation Survey was conducted by Wakefield Research among 1,000 nationally representative adults aged 18+ in the UK between July 19 and July 30, 2019.

Bedding On The Cruise
Like the mattress and frame, expect the bedding, sheets, and pillows to be commercial grade. Here, Carnivals supplier is Harbor Linen. The company is known as a a leading manufacturer and distributor of institutional linens, case goods and apparel to the hospitality, healthcare, cruise line and food service industries according to their website.
Pillows are a nice medium when it comes to comfort. They are not paper thin, nor are they extremely fluffy. Stomach sleepers will appreciate that they offer plenty of support without being too suffocating.
Sheets are a blend of 60% polyester and 40% cotton. They certainly arent the softest, but the repeated washings do soften them somewhat.
Pulling back the top sheet, cruise ship beds have a bottom sheet along with mattress covers. That means there are at least two layers between the mattress and your body as you sleep. Our bed recently had three layers.
Pillow are similar. The pillow itself is encased in a fitted cloth pillowcase, which is all then wrapped in a regular pillowcase. There are two layers between your head and the actual pillow.
