Now You Can Take Your Princess Cruises Bed Home With You
Frequently heard upon the end of a cruise holiday are murmurings and exclamations from travellers that they wish it didnt have to end. Well, now Princess Cruises has found a way, albeit an expensive way, for a pretty big tangible component of a cruise to go home with you.
Just buy the bed from your stateroom. Or if not the very one, another just like it.
The line is well underway with its project of installing nearly 50,000 units of its recently developed Princess Luxury Bed across its global fleet a task which it said will take three years. Much of the fleet has been fitted already, including ships sailing in Australia including Sun Princess among others.
At this stage, the ensemble is able to be shipped throughout the United States, however the possibility of it being made available for buyers in Australia either individually or via a locally based importer and wholesale distributor hasnt been ruled out. The mattress retails for US$999 or a complete bed can be ordered for US$1,799.
According to its designers, The Sleep Doctor Dr Michael Breus and Candice Olsen, the bed was made especially for Princess Cruises via a collaboration from some of the most luxurious bed manufacturers in the world. The bed blends the science of sleep with the pinnacle of design, its makers say.

Princess Cruise Bed Size
My hubby and I are planning a cruise to Alaska on Princess in July 2019. At home we sleep in a king bed, and dong generally sleep well in a Queen. We are likely to book an ocean view cabin, which I am reading comes with either a queen bed or twins that can be pushed together to make a queen bed. I generally thought two twins pushed together make a king bed. Are the twins smaller on. Cruise ship? Whats a girl got to do to get a king bed on a princess cruise ship? The first thing to keep in mind is that different cruise lines will have different bedding available, so exactly what you sleep on may differ from whats shown here. If youre expecting the sort of mattress and bed that youd find at a five-star hotel, then you should temper your expectations. Cruise ship beds are designed more for utility than comfort. With thousands of passengers coming in and out each week, beds see a lot of turnover.
That means cruise line beds need to be able to be configured as one king-sized bed or two smaller beds. They also need to be able to be moved quickly by a single room steward instead of being a heavy mattress that requires multiple people to move.
Beds are thinner and lighter than what you might find in a traditional hotel. For instance, the bed frame is a simple metal frame with a wire mesh to support the bed. The mattress simply sits right on top of the metal.

How Often Does My Cabin Steward Change The Sheets On My Bed
Generally, your cabin steward will change your sheets every three days — unless you request a different schedule or your sheets are obviously dirty . Some high-end suites receive new sheets daily.
Most stewards will make your bed every morning and remake it for turndown service every evening, so you never have to worry about having a neat bed to sit, nap or sleep on.

Princess Cruises 2019 Relaxation Survey
The commissioned Princess Cruises 2019 Relaxation Survey was conducted by Wakefield Research among 1,000 nationally representative adults aged 18+ in the UK between July 19 and July 30, 2019.
As you can see from the infographic above, the most popular reason given was being too hot or cold, which affects over half of us .
However 45% of us find that an uncomfortable bed is the main culprit, and although this is common across all age groups, it is particularly true for the over 55s .
Irregular bedtimes contribute to sleep deprivation
27% recognised that having an irregular bedtime wasn’t helping and neither was having an afternoon siesta or nap . Jet lag was the reason given by just 15%.Surprisingly, the findings also reveal that – despite holidays being the perfect time to unwind, sleep in and relax – almost 1 in 4 employees take at least a week off per year just to catch up on sleep. This equates to around a quarter of their paid leave. Also only 1 in 5 of employees appear to be taking their full annual leave entitlement, contributing this to heavy workloads and lack of time .

Pillows are a nice medium when it comes to comfort. They are not paper thin, nor are they extremely fluffy. Stomach sleepers will appreciate that they offer plenty of support without being too suffocating.
Sheets are a blend of 60% polyester and 40% cotton. They certainly arent the softest, but the repeated washings do soften them somewhat.
Pulling back the top sheet, cruise ship beds have a bottom sheet along with mattress covers. That means there are at least two layers between the mattress and your body as you sleep. Our bed recently had three layers.
Pillow are similar. The pillow itself is encased in a fitted cloth pillowcase, which is all then wrapped in a regular pillowcase. There are two layers between your head and the actual pillow.
