Norwegian wants both the ship and the onboard experience to be at a level higher than its current cruises offer on Prima and, later, on the five other ships in the Prima Class.

“Norwegian Prima will offer the highest staffing levels and space ratio of any new cruise ship in the contemporary and premium cruise category, delivering an unrivaled guest experience,” the company said.

The cruise line has also taken some steps to make its newest ships even more comfortable for passengers, in an area where cruise lines have traditionally valued function over form.

Prima-class ships will offer Norwegian’s largest-ever bathrooms for standard rooms and more “outdoor deck space of any new cruise ship, including more total pool-deck space than any other ship in NCL’s fleet.”

Norwegian also plans to offer an updated take on a buffet — one that seems quite similar to what Virgin Voyages offers on its ships:

“As part of the multifaceted experiences offered on Ocean Boulevard, NCL introduced the Brand’s first-ever upscale open-air marketplace with Indulge Food Hall. Created to elevate the guest-sensory experience on Norwegian Prima, Indulge Food Hall offers visitors diverse menu items from 11 culinary venues featuring indoor and outdoor seating”

Prima will also offer an outdoor sculpture garden featuring seven installations that change as the sun sets, and Infinity Beach, which offers two infinity pools, one located on each side of the ship and close to the water line.

I have a next cruise deposit extended by Dec 31, 2022 because of the plandemic. I would like to book a cruise to use the next cruise deposit. But, Norweigian still requests a vaccine pass. I cannot use the deposit since I and my wife did not get vaccinated.I purchased the next cruise deposit when there was no vaccine pass restrictions. If Norweigian was going to impose a vaccine pass on the next cruise deposit, I would never buy it. You changed the policy and I cannot use it. It is not my fault. Norweigian changed the policy and the contract. I did not change anything. If you let me use the next cruise deposit without the vaccine pass, I will be happy to use it.But, Norwegian keeps asking me to use it with a vaccine pass until Dec 2022. Or, the deposit will be expired.I requested the deadline removed. But, NCL insist to steal my money.Please never buy the next cruise deposits from NCL.

Norwegian Cruise Line Embraces Luxury

With its first new class in more than a decade, Norwegian has decided not to enter an arms race with Royal Caribbean and Carnival. Its new Prima Class will sail with 3,215 passengers at full capacity. That’s around half the passenger load on an Oasis or Excel-Class ship sailing with a full passenger load.

Norwegian intentionally went smaller because it will enable Prima Class ships — six are being built — to dock in more places. Some cruise ports simply don’t want ships carrying 6,000 passengers and others lack docks big enough to accommodate them.

By building midsize ships, Norwegian has given itself more port options, and that will enable it to embrace longer voyages, which Norwegian Senior Vice President of Sales Todd Hamilton spoke about to Travel Weekly.

“Time is ‘not a constraint anymore. People are willing to put in the time to do it and really get the best experience they can possibly get,'” he said. “When we put long itineraries on sale, they sell like hotcakes.”

    I am going on a NCL vacation in August to Alaska with my entire Family . This will be my first cruise. I must say I havent even gone one the cruise and I am going to say I WILL NEVER GO ON NCL. The Customer Services is HORRIBLE and I am not even on the boat yet!!!!!! Now, after reading some of these reviews I wish we would have used a different cruise line.No one gets back to you, so DO NOT leave your number. When you FINALLY get someone, they dont help, they transfer or say, Sorry cant help you with that!!!!Someone says one thing that can be done and when you speak to someone else, they say NO, that cannot be done and Im not doing it.AHHHHHHHHHHHH! So stressful, vacation planning should be fun, NCL makes it a NIGHTMARE!!!!!

    Purchased all of my excursions through Norwegian Cruise Line, called repeatedly to ensure that the last day of the cruise, the excursion to explore Athens that is setup by Norwegian would give me time to explore the city. Instead, the air fare reservations do not allow for time to participate in the excursion that i purchased and should have been allotted more time for. Wait times to speak to a representative is over three hours and chat bots dont even work.I havent even gone on the cruise and I am dreading what else I will experienceI wish I would have read these reviews before I booked my first cruise with NCL.

    Don’t Trust Their Reservation Staff

    I made the mistake of booking with these crooks after calling their reservations line to confirm that my pregnant wife would be able to cruise. They informed me that there were no restrictions on pregnant women so we checked with her OB, got the okay, and booked. Come to find out two days later that they did have restrictions and if we hadn’t found out in advance, they would have denied us boarding at the pier. We attempted to get a refund since there is nothing in the booking process indicating restrictions on pregnant women and specifically told by their reservations staff that there were no restrictions. In fact, we were told once again when we called into reservations to cancel that there were no restrictions what so ever. I had to point NCL’s reservations agent to their own policy before he would believe me. After being given the run around I was told that despite the issue being caused by the misinformation provided by NCL’s reservations agent, they would not allow her to cruise and would not provide a refund of any kind. Ive cruised NCL twice before but obviously wont be doing so in future as a result of their attempt to mislead and rip us off. How does a 6 billon $ company need to steal a couple of grand from my family? They’ll do whatever it takes to get our money in their coffers and keep it there I guess. Fortunately American Express will refund us and take it back from these crooks.

    I Will Never Go With Ncl Again

    Although I cant fault cruise epic or staff I got home to find theyd taken room bill daily from my account then final bill of over $500 from my bank account, so had payments twice.. you cant speak to anyone you have to complete an online form for a callback which takes upto 30 days!! Although my email states 48hrs someone online states its 30 days Seems once youve been n done and theyre not interested.. so be warned do not use a debit card for gratuities!! Left account overdrawn an on 10th day since been back and still no call. Was told by friends use a credit card next time but regardless should not make a mistake and be allowed to take 30 days to even contact you!!

    Terrible Support And No Customer Service

    After testing positive for covid one day before departure I could not go on the cruise and was then stranded in Denmark. Despite being told I would get a full FCC I have only been given credit amounting to 2/3 of the value. Despite numerous e mails , no one replies, I have called and been told that nothing can be done by phone and I have to just wait for an e mail reply. Disgusting customer service, I have been given a number of untruths and do not feel at all inclined to use the credit I have been given to go on a cruise with this company.

    Please listen to all the negative reviews about NCL. They truly are terrible and I won’t ever cruise with them again. Unfortunately, where we wanted to take a bucket list cruise had few options. They seemingly purposefully obfuscate the fact that on their St. Lawrence seaway cruises they essentially fly you into Montreal…3 hrs away. And bus and train services are NOT at the airport. So if you have included transfers, I “guess” they BUS? you to or from Quebec City. They can’t or won’t tell you. Worse, I had to call them 3 times and each time waited on hold for 1 hr…clearly they don’t really care about customer service. What I can’t stand is not being able to get a flight credit so we can make our own flight reservations with NCL flight booking. Obvious when they have the choice one will get a red-eye and then suffer thru a 3+ hr trip from Montreal on top of that…then waiting to embark on the boat.

    I Wrote A 1 Star Review A While Ago

    I wrote a 1 star review a while ago regarding communication on an upcoming cruise booked. I had a call from the salesman for the UK who originally booked the cruise for me, he was rude, aggressive and now denying flights was included when I booked, further he tried to belittle me, saying my review about him previously was lies. I have emailed and asked for a copy of the booking call recording. I don’t expect it to go anywhere as this company is clearly a sham, disgusting that they now deny flights was included. They have just shattered my partner and 14 year old daughters supposed Christmas holiday for this year. BOOK WITH OTHER OPERATORS, they clearly include flights and its less than NCL, for the record the cost with NCL was all inclusive for just under £5,000.00 for 3 of us. We can get a similar cruise round the Caribbean, same time of the year for quite a bit less and that clearly includes flights.

    Royal Caribbean International and Carnival Cruise Lines have built their businesses around shorter cruises, at least when it comes to sailings from U.S. ports on its newest ships.

    Royal Caribbean uses its newest, largest ships for six-to-eight-day itineraries from Florida. Carnival has been doing the same with its newest and largest ship, Mardi Gras, which has been sailing largely seven-day itineraries.

    And when Carnival adds its latest Excel-Class ship, Celebration , it will also sail mostly seven-day trips out of Miami.

    In addition to using its latest-and-greatest ships largely for trips that last around a week, both Royal Caribbean and Carnival have numerous ships sailing three-day weekends and four-day weeks from multiple Florida ports.

    As family-based cruise lines, the two companies have embraced the idea of the quick getaway and the week-long vacation as the core of their businesses.

    Now, rival Norwegian Cruise Line has decided to do something different with its latest ships.
