The 7 worst cruises of 2018! norwegian carnival princess royal caribbean msc here they are! my selection of the 7 worst cruises of 2018. let me know what. 7. msc’s preziosa. debuting in 2013, msc’s preziosa originally received rave reviews, having launched with a more modern cruising style to compete with larger lines like royal caribbean and norwegian. unfortunately, the cruise industry is a fast moving and fickle one, and in the years since, the ship’s reviews have deteriorated. Carnival, royal caribbean, and norwegian cruise line accounted for nearly $6 billion in profits and over 70% of the cruise market in 2018. Norwegian cruise line plans to increase the automatic gratuities charged to its cruise passengers, effective april 1, 2018. travel pulse states that ncl informed travel agents of the so called nominal adjustment to its daily service charges today. the new rates for standard cabins will increase from $13.99 to $14.50 per passenger. With that said we have been on msc twice and yes on the armonia and both those cruises rank as some of the best we have experienced. we have been on over 50 plus cruises to include cunard, costa, princess, royal caribbean, celebrity and carnival.

Worst Cruise Of Our Lives
Worst cruise of our lives, and weve done a few! Virtuosa on 24/8 from Liverpool. Queues to get on 3 hours! No distancing and not tested until the last bit – how stupid is that. No distancing on board, theatre rammed, no mask wearing. Tables so close in the dining room, we may as well been sat together. Buffet a free for all – once youd queues to get in! Sunbeds not even an inch apart, all reserved with towels by 7.30. Pool full to bursting, hot tubs over run with kids. In the evenings there was no where to sit, when you did find a seat it took an hour to get a drink. If you went to the bar they told you to sit down! Water park tickets gone by 9.30 even if you queued from 8am. Arcade was filthy, not sanitised between users, gel machines out of gel. The ship is beautiful, but MSC just filled it up, took the money and didnt care. All through lockdown I have worked hard and not caught covid. Go on the ship and test positive the day we got off. MSC promised a safe bubble, distancing, cleaning, served buffets, they lied, but took my money and now wont reply. Shame on you MSC.

The best and worst cruise lines of 2020 have been named by Which? and its Viking Ocean Cruises claiming the top spot once again and MSC anchored at the bottom for a second year running.
Viking was awarded five stars in every category while MSC received two or three stars across the board and an overall customer score of just 57 per cent.
Second in the annual ranking was Saga Ocean Cruises, followed by Azamara in third. Second-bottom of the table was Holland America.
The research looked at 20 cruise companies and asked 2,253 passengers to rate their experiences out of five across 11 categories.
These included customer service, cabin space, onboard facilities, food and drink, port excursions, entertainment, atmosphere, WiFi and value for money.
Those polled were also asked how likely it was that theyd recommend the cruise lines in question to their friends and family.
Complaints about MSC from customers quizzed included;poor customer service, surly staff and mediocre food.
MSC can carry almost 6,500 passengers at any one time across its fleet of 19 mega-liners. But Which? says this scale posed a problem.
One passenger summed up the complaints of many by telling the consumer watchdog: The ship was huge, with a lot of people, resulting in queues at key times like meals and entertainment.

Medium Ship Line #: Regent Seven Seas Cruises

When it comes to suites there is a big price increase on Royal Caribbean compared to MSC but then there are a lot of differences between the cabins. The general opinion is that people search on both and MSC comes up cheaper for families and in addition they often have deals where kids under 12 often sail for free.

Kids club! What is the difference between MSC and Royal Caribbean?
The children clubs are good on both cruise lines both MSC children clubs and Royal Caribbean kids clubs;offer different age ranges from babies, young children, tweens and teens.
Main differences concerning children are that MSC offer babysitting for a fee. Royal Caribbean do not offer babysitting anymore unless you are in suite which is such a shame.
MSC children clubs are partnered with Lego, Duplo and Chicco so you have the best brands. The kids planners on both cruise lines are similar with activities for all ages.
On MSC we saw lots of children and babies in the bars late at night in buggies. This was nice the bars were not to busy and it was more relaxed.
There are similar activities on MSC as on RC for the teens but there are also different languages to deal with. Our teens found this no problem even though they thought it would be. On both cruise lines there are english speaking staff so smaller children should feel comfortable and so should you as a parent.
Our teen boys were worried embarking on MSC as on Royal Caribbean they had no problem making friends. However as with large groups of teens there can be problems. On MSC the children were from all different nationalities, Spanish, Italian, french and many more. The children conversed made friends and learnt many pockets of different languages.

Crystal Cruises
Other cruise lines that were rated poorly by Which? included Holland America, Cruise and Maritime Voyages and Norwegian Cruise Line, scoring 68 per cent, 69 per cent and 70 per cent respectively.
At the other end of the spectrum, Viking Ocean Cruises came top with a score of 93 per cent and five stars across all categories. Customers appreciated the classy and crowd-free atmosphere with Viking.
Saga Ocean Cruises , Azamara , Hurtigruten and Silversea were also rated highly.
Pools On Msc Versus Royal
Pools, what is the;difference between MSC and Royal Caribean?
MSC shut pools at night which I think is a great idea. Being the parent of a teens my fear is lots of kids gettting in the pool or jacuzzis late at night which is what generally happens on Royal Caribbean. As parents we find ourselves going out to check where they are and what they are doing.;
MSC drain down the pools and net over the jacuzzis after the lifeguard has left.;Often with peer pressure and children finally finding friends they want to sit in the hot tubs after dark.;This is not something that sits right with me and often on all inclusive holidays and cruise I find myself worrying and trapsing;around trying to find them.;
This gives me a comfort to know that the pools are drained and covered. Obviously let your child know!;
Royal Caribbean do not do this and there are often groups of kids in jacuzzis way in to the early hours.
All pools are similar and there are lots of sunbeds available on both. There were plenty of Jacuzzis on both cruise lines however I found MSC to be quieter during the day around the pool.

MSC Cruises has a point-based frequent cruiser program, the MSC Voyages Club, that has four tiers ranging from Classic to Diamond .
Members earn points based on the length of the cruises they take and which experience they book on those sailings. There are five different experiences you can book on an MSC Cruises sailing, each with different inclusions and price points. The most basic Bella experience will get you fewer points than the top MSC Yacht Club experience. A chart shows how point-earning works:
Every person in your stateroom will earn the points for the cruise based on the chart above. You can also earn points with onboard spending and any prebookings you made before embarkation. Youll earn 100 points for every $150 in prepaid expenses and onboard expenses.
Caveats: Only the Voyagers Club member who makes the final payment for the onboard expenses will receive those points. For prepaid expenses, points will be equally distributed among the cabin occupants.
Say, for example, the total amount of prepaid onboard services that apply to all cabin occupants before the cruise is $600. If there are four cabin occupants, the spending for the points calculation of each member will be $150, which is equal to 100 points.
The real perks begin at Diamond status, which brings a free dinner in an extra-charge restaurant, some treats in your cabin, priority embarkation and late disembarkation, and priority access for everything from dinner to tenders.
Medium Ship Line #: Crystal Cruises
While many cruises are notorious for charging guests for alcohol and specialty dining options, Crystal practices a generally all-inclusive fare structure covering all drinks , one specialty dining reservation per passenger , 24-hour room service, and a Wi-Fi package. The line has just two ocean-going vessels, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony, which both have capacities of fewer than 1,000 passengers and sail global itineraries.

Viking received five star ratings for all categories which included customer service, passenger-to-space ratio, onboard facilities, cabins, food and drink, port excursions, social atmosphere and value for money.
The other companies to round out the top five spots were Saga Ocean Cruises, Azamara, Hurtigruten and Silversea.
But bringing up the rear – at the very bottom of the league – was MSC Cruises, with a customer rating of just 57 per cent. The Which? Survey revealed MSC had been given two-star ratings for most categories. Of the 20 cruise ships surveyed, MSC also had the lowest rating for “description matching reality”.
Royal caribbean, Norwegian, Cruise and Maritime and Holland America were also among the bottom of the heap.
