Usually anyone 18 and older is allowed in adult-only areas . The age restrictions are less strictly enforced in adults-only areas that are free. Because for-fee areas charge per passenger, more attention is paid to exactly who’s coming and going. As a general rule, 16-year-olds who are behaving appropriately in an adults-only area will not be noticed or kicked out. Most lines also have age restrictions for hot tub usage, but these are the least strictly enforced.

I Went On A Cruise For Swingers With My Husband
For this installment of our weekly interview series, Love, Actually, about the reality of women’s sex lives, we spoke with Vera , a married woman who unexpectedly got into swinging during a tenth-anniversary cruise.
Last spring my husband and I were looking for an adults-only vacation to celebrate our tenth anniversary. I came across a “clothing optional lifestyle takeover cruise.” The materials talked about dance parties, clothing-optional areas, and playrooms, including a dungeon. We assumed “lifestyle” meant BDSM. It was only after we’d booked the trip that we realized it meant swingers. We figured we could still go, even though we didn’t plan to participate.
Leading up to the cruise, though, we got to know some of the other couples online and began to change our minds. It started with talk of me being interested in playing with other women and evolved into “Let’s just go for it and enjoy all this cruise has to offer.”
We really didn’t know what to expect when we got there, and were definitely surprised. Some people were completely nude, some just topless, some in tiny outfits, and some fully clothed. We kept our swimsuits on. No one seemed to mind, or even notice, what anyone else was or wasn’t wearing.
The atmosphere of the cruise made us more open to trying new things.

Hey, which night is the magic show? I off-handedly asked the customer service desk my first day aboard.
They looked at me quizzically and informed me that Virgin Voyages doesnt have a magic show. I didnt know much about cruises, but I thought I knew one thing: theres always a magic show. Turns out, instead of the classic magic shows, comedy acts, broadway-esque plays, and ice skating performances, Virgin offers a range of live acts that not only push conventional boundaries but also break the fourth wall in a miraculously not-lame way.
Audience participation is probably my biggest, most irrational fear. Nightmares about getting pulled up onstage by an elaborately costumed character make me wake up in a cold sweat. Thats why the Untitled Danceshow Partything one of Virgins signature interactive shows was more nerve-wracking to me than my swimming with the stingrays excursion in the Bahamas. Its basically a music video that spills over into the audience, and before you know it, youre pretty much at a music festival. The immersion happens so gradually that youll hardly notice the shift take place. One minute youll be reservedly bobbing your head to the music, and the next youll be shredding the dance floor to T-Pain.

Most River Cruises Are Nearly Adults
The majority of all river cruise sailings have few, if any, children onboard. They also tend to have more inclusive fares that include beer, wine and soda at dinner, plus at least some shore excursions, along with Wi-Fi and bicycle use generally included.

Three New Virgin Voyages Ships
I am sailing the Scarlet Lady in January 2022, and I toured the ship in September 2021 when it was docked in NYC for a few days. I will be getting out a full review of that ship .
After its stint in New York, the Scarlet Lady will sail down to Miami where it will be doing 4-7 night sailings in the Caribbean. With itineraries like Mayan Sol and Dominican Daze, there are different voyages each week. But each Caribbean sailing will stop at the Beach Club at Bimini, Virgins private beach club in the Bahamas. Bimini sounds awesome, and I cannot wait to go will have to do a full review on that after I visit in January!
In March 2022, the second ship, the Valiant Lady will debut, sailing Spring/Summer 2022 in the Mediterranean out of Barcelona. These are the itineraries that will include an overnight in Ibiza! I cannot wait to book one of these for myself.
In August 2022, the third Virgin Voyages ship will premier the Resilient Lady who will be sailing the Southern Med out of Athens!

Perhaps the biggest way Virgin Voyages differs from classic cruises is in the restaurant experience. The fancy, formal, Titanic-esque dining room has been replaced by a variety of themed eateries, and instead of endless buffets, youll find The Galley a casual sit-down restaurant that has a little bit of everything. Dont worry, though. There are still plenty of opportunities to indulge.
The themed restaurants are the centerpiece of Virgins dining culture, each with its own unique cuisine and aesthetic. Its kind of like going to the fine dining version of the Epcot World Showcase. Theres The Wake, an upscale steak and seafood restaurant Pink Agave, an elevated take on Mexican cuisine in a chic, LA-style setting Razzle Dazzle, a vegetarian-centric dinner and breakfast spot with a 50s-style decor and Extra Virgin, the indulgent, calorie-dense Italian spot you were praying would be on this list.

The two most unique eateries, however, are Test Kitchen and Gunbae. Test Kitchen is billed as an experimental restaurant, which also hosts cooking classes. Our first course, for example, was mushroom paste in the shape of a small mushroom, while the fifth course was a stick of gourmet blue cheese shaped like a curled-up slinky.

Where The Ship Will Be Going
Itinerary-wise, the 7-night sailing will leave Nice, France on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, do an overnight in Cannes before visiting several other gorgeous ports and concluding in Barcelona.

Speaking of lame, thats the first word that came to mind when I heard about Virgins wellness-oriented experiences. People go on cruises to overeat, drink excessively, and burn their faces off, not wake up at 8:30 AM for a yoga class. Or so I thought.
Wellness is a huge part of the Virgin Voyages experience, from the well-equipped gym and daily fitness classes to the boxing ring, punching bags, outdoor workout stations, and running track that wraps around the ship.

I work out regularly at home but have never used a hotel gym in my entire life. It stems from a difficulty reconciling my vacation mindset with healthy personal habits. Virgin normalizes this reconciliation, essentially telling passengers, Look, if you want to work out or wake up early for a HIIT class, thats okay. Youre not wasting your vacation.
And it makes total sense. A fitness class or a solid gym sesh can make you feel a lot less guilty about gorging yourself at Lick Me Till Ice Cream. Im not ashamed to admit that I used the gym regularly during my voyage, and that continuation of my normal route absolutely helped my body cope with the cruises reckless caloric intake.

Norwegian Cruise Line: Posh And Vibe Beach Club
Norwegian Cruise Lines ships take adults-only relaxation very seriously, as guests can also find the ultimate serenity in Posh and Vibe Beach Club. Cruise Miss Tells Us What To Expect On An Adult
I have grown quite fond of adult-only cruising, its nice to have the option to sail with or without kids and lets face it, sometimes some of us just need some peace and quiet in an adult-only environment.Ive sailed a few cruises where there hasnt been a child in sight and thats because the voyage was on an adult-only ship. My Arctic Circle cruise in March last year was aboard P& O Cruises Oriana, a ship on which children are not permitted to sail, and my Baltic and Mediterranean adventures this year were aboard Saga Sapphire, again a ship only for adults those over 50 to be more specific.
What I like about cruising though is that, even if the ship is geared towards families, there are still going to be sailings where the majority of those onboard are adults, so we can take full advantage! I embarked on a 35-night Caribbean cruise in 2013 with P& O Cruises and I think there were only 5 children onboard. The voyage was on Oceana which is in fact a family-friendly vessel, but because of the time of year and duration of the voyage, there were barely any children onboard. I know some people will argue with me and say but 5 children is still 5 children, but on a ship the size of Oceana trust me, you really didnt know they were there. I will be joining Oceana in February 2016 for another 35-night sailing, this time taking in the Caribbean and the USA, and I expect that too will be virtually child-free.
