Port Canaveral Parking Options For A Cruise

Note: Most lots in the area charge parking fees for both the day you arrive and the day you leave. So if you take a 7-day cruise , you will be charged for eight days of parking.

Rates below are estimated and are subject to change.

Port Canaveral Official ParkingParking at the port is by far the most convenient. Parking lots and garages are next to each cruise terminal, making for a very short walk to check-in. For that convenience, however, you will pay a higher price $17 per day, including both the day of arrival and departure.

Parking is payable via credit card. Disabled parking is free of charge, if your vehicle has special equipment such as ramps or foot/hand controls, have a Florida Toll Exemption Permit, or have a Florida Disabled Veteran license plate. More details are here.

Given the proximity of the lots to the cruise terminal, we wouldnt blame anyone for paying the higher prices. However, cheaper options are available if youre looking to save.

  • Cost: $17 per day

Park Port CanaveralLocated about three miles from the cruise terminals, Park Port Canaveral is one of your many options for off-site cruise parking. Rates are very fair. We found a daily rate of $12.95 plus tax, but there are additional fees tacked on. The lot also offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the port. Like other lots, Park Port Canaveral charges both for the day of arrival and the day of departure.

Given the pricing structure, the best value will be for those traveling on longer cruises.

Sailing Out Of The Port Canaveral On Disney Cruise Line

Carnival Cruise Departing Port Canaveral

Admittedly, Ive only sailed Disney Cruise Line from Port Canaveral, and Ive always found the process to be easy and straightforward. If you are taking Disney transportation from the airport, youll leave your luggage before boarding the motorcoach at the airport.

Once you arrive at the port, youll be directed through security, then will travel upstairs to the check-in area. The Disney terminal is so well-appointed, and it really gets you in the spirit of traveling with Disney.

There are three separate check-in areas. One is for first-time cruisers, one is for Castaway Club silver and gold members, and one is for concierge guests and Platinum Castaway Club members.

When you check-in, youll make sure you have a credit card on file, sign any relevant paperwork, and have your photo taken. Youll be given a Key to the World card, as well as a lanyard if you are a Castaway Club member.

A boarding number will be given to you at that time. You can sit in the waiting area and wait for the number to be called. While you wait, you can walk outside to get a great photo of the ship, and can even wait in line to take a photo with Minnie or Mickey.

Directions To Port Canaveral The Cove And Jetty Park

From Orlando, simply drive east on SR 528, affectionately called the Beachline. Watch carefully for road signs to Port Canaveral, as Florida notoriously lacks in good road signage.

When you finally and excitedly see cruise ships across the water in front of you on your left, stay to the right. Youll soon want to exit from 528 onto A1A South. Merge briefly onto A1A south and stay to your right for the exit. At the stop light, go left under the overpass. Follow George King Blvd and look for overhead signs to The Cove. You can enter the Cove area on either Flounder St. or Glen Cheek Road.

Heading to Jetty Park? Continue on George King Blvd and keep going to the end. Follow the signs for the campground.

Theres plenty of free parking at the Cove. With a 3:30 arrival, parking is easy.

Enjoy and have fun as you watch the ships sail away from Port Canaveral and out to sea!

Some of the worlds biggest cruise lines in recent weeks have finally begun announcing concrete plans to restart sailings out of U.S. ports.

MSC Cruises, for instance, on Monday said it would resume departures out of Miami on Aug. 2. The announcement came just hours after Carnival Cruise Line said it would restart cruises out of Galveston, Texas, on July 3. Silversea, Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Holland America also have been revealing restart plans.

Still, even as they gear up for a U.S. restart, cruise lines are saying they only will operate a few ships out of U.S. ports at first. The plan at least for now is to bring additional ships into operation gradually over many months.

So, which cruise ships, specifically, will be restarting operations out of U.S. ports in the coming months and from which specific ports?

In the continuously updated guide below, we list every comeback cruise itinerary out of a U.S. port that has been announced so far for the summer months of June, July, August and September by a major, big-ship line, sorted first by home port and then line.
