Bars And Lounges On The Disney Cruise Ships
While most people travel with kids on the Disney Cruise Line, there are still bars and lounges that adults can enjoy. Since many kids will likely spend much of their time in the phenomenal kids clubs on board, adults will have lots of opportunities to visit the adult-only areas.
The Disney Fantasy offers a whole area of the ship called Europa, filled with European-themed bars and lounges. Ooh La La, a champagne bar, is my personal favorite.
The Disney Dream ship features the District, which is similar to Europa. Its located in the same area of the ship, and has similar bars. Instead of Ooh La La, their champagne bar is called Pink. My favorite bar of all the ships is the Meridian Lounge, which is located between Palo and Remy on the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
The Disney Wonder and Disney Magic also have bars and lounges. The Wonder has the After Hours adult area with several lounges. In most cases, the bars and lounges are open to kids during the day, but are adult only in the evenings. Programming is sometimes offered check your Disney Navigator or Disney Cruise Line app for details.

Book At The Right Time
Disney cruises in mid-to-late January, early February, a select few weeks in March and April, early May, September, early November, and early December are the best times to travel if youre looking to save money on your Disney Cruise trip.

New Disney Private Island In The Bahamas
On October 19, 2018, The Bahamas officially issued a tentative preliminary approval of Disney Cruise Line’s plan to build and exclusively operate a private cruise port on Eleuthera Island’s southern tip. Project’s developer will be the Walt Disney Company subsidiary Disney Parks and Resorts. The plan is for developing a land sized 746 acres that Disney agreed to purchase. The new Disney ships-only port will have a dedicated pier , boat marina, shops, restaurants, passenger walkways through forests and around salt ponds.
Disney’s new port project will create around 150 permanent local jobs plus various entrepreneurial opportunities for Bahamian residents. However, The Bahamas Parliament must officially agree to the plan once all terms and conditions are agreed and proper environmental testing is conducted.
In early-March 9, 2019, Bahamas allowed Walt Disney to acquire the resort property Lighthouse Pointe from Meritage Hospitality Group Inc . The property will serve as Disney’s new cruise port that also doubles as “entertainment facility” . By this project, Disney will invest between USD 250-400 million to develop the property as Castaway Cay. As part of the deal, Disney agreed to donate property’s southernmost point to the Bahamas Government for a national park.
Currently, on Eleuthera island is located the Carnival Corporation-owned private island resort Princess Cays.
Disney Triton Class Ships
There are 3 more Disney ships on the horizon. The Disney Wish is due to be launched in 2022. The next two ships dont yet have scheduled launch dates.
These are known as the Triton Class ships.

The Disney Fantasy-class ships are 130,000 gross tons and the new ships will be 140,000.
However, we know that the new Disney ships will only have the same amount of staterooms at 1,250 as the Fantasy and Dream. Therefore it seems that there will be more room for the entertainment spaces on the Triton Class ships.
We would guess that the majority will be balcony staterooms on the new Disney cruise ships.
Its a pretty good bet that the new Disney ships will have the virtual portholes in the inside staterooms as well. Another highly likely feature of the new Disney cruise ships is that there will be an expanded concierge class.
This is a very exciting time for Disney cruise lines. Not only will there soon be 3 new ships, but there will also be a brand new Disney private island location.

Edge Tween Club For Children Aged 1114
When your kid outgrows the fun in the main kid club, dont worry, Edge is waiting just upstairs. Technically, Edge is for kids 11-14, but you can get your 10-year-old in with permission and once they figure that out, its probably all over for the little kid club.
Edge is a much smaller space, but tweens have tons of fun here playing video games, having dance parties, doing crafts, playing trivia games, etc., with their newfound cruise friends.
This club does not utilize parent sign-in and -out, so you need to trust your kid if they are coming to Edge.

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. â Disney Cruise Line’s first sailing with passengers since the pandemic shut down the cruise industry will be Aug. 9, with a number of health and safety measures in place, the company said Friday.

Disney Dream is scheduled to depart from Port Canaveral on a trip to Disney’s private Bahamas island, Castaway Cay, Disney said. Three- and four- night cruises will be available.
But “some things will look a bit different for now,” says Disney Signature Experiences President Thomas Mazloum in a YouTube video posted to the Disney Parks blog.
Passengers are “strongly encouraged” to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before they go on a Disney cruise, though vaccinations won’t be required on sailings departing from Florida, according to the health and wellness video.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a person as “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 when they’re two weeks past their second dose of a two-dose vaccine or two weeks past a single-dose vaccine.

Restaurants On The Disney Cruise Ships
While all of the dining rooms on the Disney Cruise Line are fun and offer lots of delicious food options, they do vary by ship. Animators Palate, as well as the premium, adult-only Palo, are offered on all four ships.
Each of the four ships has a French-themed restaurant, although the names and themes are different. There are also two incredibly fun themed restaurants Tianas Place on the Disney Wonder and Rapunzels Royal Table on the Disney Magic. In addition to dinner, youll also be entertained while eating at these two restaurants.
Each of the ships offers free ice cream, as well as a premium coffee bar. They all have various snack options available throughout the day, including pizza, sandwiches, and salads. The Disney Dream also offers a premium ice cream/dessert spot, called Vanellopes. Everything in Vanellopes is offered at an additional fee.
For breakfast and lunch, each of the ships has the Cabanas buffet, with both indoor and outdoor seating.

Others really love the Magic. As a smaller ship, its definitely more quaint and its easier to walk around. I do love the shows on the Magic, as well as the restaurants.

Other Interior Attractions And Activities
Meeting Disney characters is a really fun part of a Disney cruise. Who knows how this will work when cruising returns, but historically you made a reservation in advance to meet the popular princesses or Frozen gang.
Other characters, like Captain Minnie and friends, did not require an advance reservation. You would just get in line to say hi to the characters and have a picture taken. While some character appearances are a surprise, most times and locations are shared in advance on your daily cruise itinerary.
There is an onboard fitness center, so you can work off some of those treats and drinks.
The Senses Spa & Salon is a full-service spa with everything from massages to pedicures and hair care.
Pro tip: The showers in this part of the ship are full-sized in case you are getting a bit claustrophobic in the shower in your stateroom.
Youll want to make appointments in advance, though last-minute appointments are sometimes available if you are feeling spontaneous.
If you like getting away to relax, look at purchasing access to the Rainforest Room for heated stone loungers, aromatherapy showers and hot tub . You can buy a one-day or full-cruise pass to this area of the spa.

Disney Cruise Line will be sailing once again after announcing it had received approval from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to embark on a test voyage from Port Canaveral.
