Flamingoes Of The Renaissance

Meet six of the most photographed residents of Aruba, the pink flamingos of the Renaissance. They say the birds arrived there 15 years ago, out of the blue, and made the island their home.

The Renaissance Resort found in Oranjestad at the edge of the resort district at Palm Beach owns a private island where the flamingos live.

You need a day pass at the Renaissance to get to the island which also has excellent snorkeling. This, however, is not an easy thing to do. To ensure the private island remains uncrowded and the flamingos unflustered by people. The renaissance only gives first priority to its guests and when the hotel is not booked out, it can hand out a few day-passes to outside guests.

If you want to visit the private island, get to the hotel early and find out whether you can get a day pass. The island features the only private beaches in Aruba and is a paradise that you have to see to believe.

To attract our friends, the flamingos, put some flamingo food on your hand and feed these beautiful birds. You can get flamingo food from the vending machine with a quarter.

Swim At The Natural Pool

At the central point of the northeastern coast of Arikok park is one of the most popular draws to Aruba. The Natural pool or Conchi as locally known, is a naturally occurring pool in a depression amidst huge volcanic rocks found on the rugged coast.

A dip in the cool waters of the pool is a welcomed experience after a hot day of off-roading adventures in Arikok. Swim or cliff jump into the clear emerald pool, which is fed by the tides breaking against the surrounding rocks.

Note, however, that you cant swim in the hole when its too windy or when there is a rough surf. So, check with the tourism desk, whether the pool is open or not. The rocks around the pool are also very slippery, so wear good water shoes and be careful getting in and out of the pool.

Admire Art Murals In San Nicolaas

San Nicolaas is the second largest town in Aruba. Its located about 12miles southeast of Oranjestad. This town is the site of art tourism. Experience the aftermath of Aruba Art Fair, which sees talented artists from Aruba and the rest of the world leave their mark on the towns buildings.

There are over 30 painted murals on the exterior of buildings in the town. Some so realistic and well blended you would have to be paying keen attention to notice them. This is a beautiful tour best experienced in the morning before the sun fully comes out.

When you get hungry during your tour head over to Charlies bar for a mouthwatering lunch before heading to Baby Beach for an afternoon of swimming and snorkeling. It takes a 30minute by bus to get to San Nicolaas from Oranjestad.

Kite Surfing In Aruba

What People Are Saying About Palm Beach Noord

We booked the dinner cruise online after reading reviews and were so glad we did! The celebration started on the dock with a glass of champagne. The crew was very professional and very attentive. The meal was excellent and the singer was amazing. We cruised to the California Lighthouse and docked while the meal was served. It was absolutely beautiful as the sun set and the lights came on. The cruise back to the dock was gorgeous with the lights along the beach. We had a great time and highly recommend taking the sunset dinner cruise.

De Palm Island of Aruba – Miramar Restaurant Aruba -Sightseeing Tour – De Palm Tours, Aruba

My husband and I will be coming in the end of June. Would love some suggestions for a sunset cruise with cocktails. TIA

Black Pearl is wonderful. 20 loungers only. Delightful rum punch and grilled cheese sandwiches. You may snorkel if you wish, but not required. We have done many sails and this is our favourite. Very relaxing and serene. Book online as it sells out quickly. You get on the boat on the pier by Moombas.

Ditto on Octopus. Great people. We happened to be on the cruise a couple of years ago with the new owners.

If you have a walking disability, which would be easier to board. Also are there any without snorkeling?

Black Pearl is easy to board and you can choose not to snorkel. Many do not-just lay back and enjoy!

Thanks so much. I was looking for a morning excursion but will book for 4 o clock.

I’ve used the De Palm one for sunset cruise for 7 trips in a row out of Bugaloe bar/pier. Very fun people. However, I may try the the one you all have been posting about, Black Pearl. It sounds great. May feel a little guilt though. The De Palm guys recognize me every year and are so friendly due to the huge Aruba tattoo covering my entire right arm. Last year they posted my pic on one of the Aruba websites and they said people were looking for me. I’m like WHAT?! Next thing I know, Kono pizza shows up to Bugaloe bar and brings us food and does a little interview about the tattoo. Just amazing kind of people there.

De Palm Sunset Cruise Aruba De Palm Pier

My wife and I were married in Aruba and wanted to do something special for our guests who traveled such a long distance to be with us. We set up a sunset cruise for our guests versus doing the typical rehearsal dinner. The De Palm crew and experience really set the tone for a wonderful week in Aruba. Captain Patrick, Randy, and Cesar’ are the Best and truly made our cruise a special event! Thank you guys for what you do and you made us feel like we were locals. I highly recommend the sunset cruise to everybody! Captain Patrick actually invited my wife and I for a second cruise to celebrate our marriage. De Palm Sunset Cruise Rocks!!!

Rocky was very informative as we drove to the Casabari Rock formation, the Lighthouse, the Alto Vista Chapel and thru both poor and rich neighbourhoods in Aruba. He gave a very good historical perspective on all that we saw. From the tour boat, we saw the beautiful beaches and hotels. It was an easy, relaxed tour.

My husband and I took a day-long bus tour with Edwin as our driver, tour guide, waiter, and life guide. Edwin was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the island and was very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it if you are interested in learning about the people of Aruba.

De Palm Sunset Cruise

This was a sunset cruise on a catamaran with a lot of ppl from different hotels. Cost for us was in the ballpark of $60+ /pp. We were picked up at the hotel and dropped off at the Pelican walkway to the pier near the Riu hotel. Staff was friendly. Initial boat seating felt like a can of sardines to me. After the start of our cruise we had an open bar and appetizers and everyone was free to move about. The cruise was nice, we met some nice people and there was a nice sunset with plenty of photo opps. I can’t say I was totally impressed. I went on a dinner sunset cruise years back and although different type of cruise and company, I don’t recall it being packed so tightly. At the end, we walked back to the bus to be dropped off at our respective hotels. This one for me is a one and done.

We went to Aruba for a week for a relaxing time at the resort. To break it up we booked this 3 to 4 hour tour to see some of the Island. This was a great reasonable priced tour that takes in many of the sites including a guided tour through a butterfly farm which was very unique. Our tour guide Gio was terrific. He was funny, knowledgeable, and personable. In addition to the farm you see the natural bridge which was incredible for the scenery, and the first church ion the island Alta vista. A great brief getaway before going back to the beach.
