The annual Monsters of Rock Cruise is returning in 2022 to celebrate its 10th anniversary. Departing out of Miami, Florida, promoter On The Blue announced the five-day/five-night full ship charter cruise will set sail aboard Royal Caribbeans Freedom of the Seas, visit two ports in CocoCay, Bahamas and Labadee, Haiti, and features performances from rock icon Alice Cooper, along with performances from over 35 artists.
The supporting lineup for MORC 22 includes Queensrÿche, Cinderellas Tom Keifer, Skid Row, Lit, L.A. Guns, Kix, Winger, Michael Monroe, Great White, H.E.A.T, Loudness, Pat Travers, Y& T, Eclipse, Vixen, Rose Tattoo, Black N Blue, Firewind, Chris Holmes, Joel Hoekstra, Lillian Axe, Faster Pussycat, Pink Cream 69, Dangerous Toys, Killer Dwarfs, XYZ, Beasto Blanco, Electric Boys, Crazy Lixx, Little Caesar, Roxanne, Signal 13, and The Mayor of MORC John Corabi. So in 2023, why not make plans to hop on board for the Monsters of Rock Cruise, featuring a star-studded group of acts providing entertainment throughout your voyage.
Classic hard rock favorites such as Tesla, Michael Schenker, Winger, Queensryche, Saxon and Extreme will be leading the way for the 2023 edition. The Monsters of Rock Cruise will be in its eleventh year, setting sail on April 29 aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas, departing out of Port Canaveral, Florida. The voyage will include two days at sea filled with musical performances along with stops at two ports – Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic and the Private Isle of Labadee – before returning to Florida to complete the cruise on May 4.

Really with two Covid tests to pass before I could even get on the ship I was grateful even to get aboard this Monsters of Rock Cruise at all!! Others including some of the bands didnt make it for that reason, but having decided que sera sera I was determined to enjoy myself no matter what. Luckily, as usual, that was easy. The only problem I have really is that with several stages aboard and a number of events overlapping not to mention opportunities to go ashore its impossible to fit everything in and I always exhaust myself trying. I can only cover the things I managed to do, had I been able to split myself in several pieces I would have done everything!!
Pre Party
However things always begin with the Pre Party and I managed to get a great spot at the front for Rhinobucket, Vixen and Vandenberg. The rain held off except for a few Vixen numbers. There was a bit of a shock as Share Ross announced she would be taking a break from Vixen for a while and about half way through Julia Lage of Smith Kotzen assumed duties on bass. Mats Leven of Vandenberg has an amazing Coverdale like voice and so he made easy work of several Whitesnake numbers before they come back for a bit of Zeppelin and Burning Heart as an encore. A great evening of great bands!

A slew of 80s hard rock and metal acts have been booked for the 2023 Monsters of Rock Cruise
The crew behind the annual Monsters of Rock Cruise has announced the events 2023 lineup, and it features 80s hard rock and metal mainstays such as Queensryche, Tesla, Winger, Extreme, Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown and more. Another fun addition is Mac Sabbath, the famed McDonalds-themed Black Sabbath cover band).
The ship, Royal Caribbeans Mariner of the Seas, will take off starting April 29 from Port Canaveral, Florida, and travel to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic and the Private Isle of Labadee. The trip will wrap up at the Florida port on May 4.
The 2023 theme for the cruise is They Came From Outer Space. In addition to the aforementioned acts, the event will also feature performances from Stryper, John Corabi, Michael Schenker, Saxon, Vandenberg, Autograph, Burning Witches, DORO, Faster Pussycat, Great White, Hardcore Superstar, Joel Hoekstra, JKIX, Loudness, Rose Tattoo and more.
In addition to the music, other activities include Gong Show Karaoke, So You Think You Can Shred, Q& A sessions, Cooking with Rock Stars, Painting With Rock Stars, Rock Stars vs Average Joes Basketball and more.
