‘msc Seaview’: The Worlds Newest Cruise Ship
MSC Cruises christened its newest ship this weekend, celebrating the 5,331-passenger MSC Seaview during an over the top ceremony in Genoa. The huge new ship will now spend the summer sailing the Mediterraneanincluding ports like Barcelona, Marseille, Naples, and Vallettabefore crossing the Atlantic to spend the winter in Brazil, sailing from the city of Santos, near São Paulo.
Its the latest mega-ship from MSC, which specializes in family-friendly cruises that are hugely popular in Europe but perhaps a bit less known here in the U.S. Of course, MSC is trying to change that: A sister ship to Seaview, the MSC Seaside, arrived in Miami in December 2017 and has been sailing the Caribbean ever since. The company took fourth place, ahead of stalwarts like Holland America and Celebrity, in Condé Nast Travelers 2017 Readers Choice Awards for best large-ship line.
If thats still not enough for you, MSC promises to up the ante in coming years: Its still-in-development World Class ships are slated to arrive in 2022 and 2023. Theyll be among the worlds largest, with room for 6,850 guests eachand were guessing even more stuff to do onboard.

The order book for new vessels in 2022 is looking full; lots of cruise lines have new ships on the horizon that we cant wait to experience. Yes, its only a little over halfway through 2021 right now, but we couldnt resist putting together this piece;a little early this year.
Here is our overview on 18 new cruise ships scheduled to launch in 2022.
Which Carnival Ships Are In Dry Dock Now
Currently, no less than four Carnival Cruise ships are in Cadiz, Spain. The ships are either in dry dock or waiting to start soon. These are Carnival Liberty, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Sunshine, and of course, Carnival Radiance.

Carnival Liberty is scheduled to leave her dry-dock position in Cadiz, Spain, on September 28, Carnival Paradise is scheduled to start on October 1, and Carnival Sunshine for October 21, both also in the Spanish port of Cadiz, Spain. All three ships will be receiving, or have received, in the case of Carnival Liberty, cosmetic enhancements, and of course, the new livery.
Carnival Radiance will finally sail from Cadiz for her crossing the Atlantic Ocean on October 18 and beginning a seven-week journey to her new homeport in Long Beach, California. All in all, its a busy time for Carnivals engineering teams, but in the end, with the new liveries and the ships looking brand new once again, it will all have been worth it.

Norwegian Breakaway Cruise Ship Returns To New York: We Chat With Ncl President Harry Sommer
— The return to service milestones continue to pile up, as more cruise ships return into service in different ports around the U.S.
Beginning September 26, Norwegian Breakaway comes back to the Manhattan Terminal in New York City for its fall season of cruises to Bermuda. While Oasis of the Seas has been sailing out of Bayonne across the river for a month and other cruise ships have pulled into New York, Norwegian Breakaway is the first mainstream ship to return with an NYC homeport.
To mark the occasion, Cruise Critic caught up with Norwegian Cruise Line President Harry Sommer who spoke about getting ships back in the water, Norwegian’s vaccine requirements — and when we can expect things to get back to normal.
Cruise Critic: You must be pretty excited about Breakaway coming back to New York. That must mean something, on a symbolic level.
Harry Sommer: You know, it, it really does. New York is our second home. We have a big emphasis up there and it was critical for us when we restarted that we tried to pick the places that we move lots of customers from, because, we want to give guests confidence that cruising is back.

Which Carnival Ships Have Completed Dry Docks
Its been a hectic year for the technical people at Carnival Cruise Line. Not only did the company launch a new ship, , but the company is also in the final stages of transforming Carnival Victory into Carnival Radiance, and no less than five ships have already completed their dry docks this year.
Carnival Magic, Carnival Glory, Carnival Dream, Carnival Legend, and Carnival Valor have all completed dry docks already this year, with a variety of changes and upgrades that have been made to each ship.
Carnival Magic was the first ship this year to complete a dry dock in Marseille, France, in May. Besides the new red, white and blue hull design and paint scheme, she also underwent hotel maintenance and cosmetic enhancements. However, she was also one of the first ships to have the conference room replaced with the new non-smoking Casino and bar.
Carnival Glory and Carnival Valor had relatively minor work done during their dry-dock periods in Marseille, France. Besides the standard cosmetic enhancements that are part of every dry dock, the ships also got some upgrades in the hotel areas of the vessels.
Of course, both cruise ships also got the gorgeous new livery that will be a key part of every Carnival Cruise ship. Carnival Valor completed its upgrade on July 28 ready for resuming operations on November 1 from New Orleans. Carnival Glory is already sailing from new Orleans and completed its minor refurbishment in July 2021.
New Carnival Ships 2019
In March 2015 Carnival Corporation ordered 9 new vessels to be built by two different companies – Fincantieri SpA constructs 5 ships , while Meyer Werft BmbH constructs the other 4 units in Germany and Finland .
All new liners feature next-generation designs and marine architecture and technologies, each designed accordingly to the brand it serves . In 2019 was established CSSC Carnival China – a Chinese-American joint venture company with a separate fleet of 2x ex-Costa ships plus 2 newbuilds .

Royal Caribbean Odyssey Of The Seas
Much like Carnival Mardi Gras, Royal Caribbeans Odyssey of the Seas has experienced delays in construction. However, progress is being made and the ship is due to be delivered to Royal Caribbean in Spring 2021.
The Odyssey of the Seas is the second Quantum Ultra Class ship for the cruise line. At 169,000 tons, the cruise ship will have some amazing features including the North Star, the Sky Pad, the Sea Plex with bumper cars and a roller skating rink. Royal Caribbean never disappointa, and always has the coolest things to do on a cruise ship!
In addition to the great things to do on this family friendly ship, there are several of Royal Caribbeans restaurants and bars, including a favorite Lime & Coc0nuts.

First Look At Skydome On P&os New Ship Arvia
The first look at P&O Cruises’ retractable roof SkyDome onboard the new ship Arvia, arriving December 2022, has been unveiled in a new video.
According to a press release, the SkyDome on the Arvia will be a “relaxed pool environment by day with entertainment by night, including live music, spectacular production shows, DJ sets and blockbuster movies al fresco on SeaScreen.”
The retractable roof glass SkyDome, a first for P&O Cruises, has been designed to maximize time in the sunshine in the warm climes the Arvia will visit, commencing with a Caribbean maiden season next winter, the cruise line said.
Arvia’s retractable roof SkyDome, measuring 40.96 meters by 34.24 meters, was designed by Martin Francis with engineering works carried out by British firm Eckersley OCallaghan. This engineering company has worked on projects ranging from the Bulgari Glass House in Italy to Apple Park in California and its Steve Jobs Theater ;the largest structure in the world supported solely by glass.
“Every aspect of the Arvia has been designed to bring guests even closer to the sea, sky and shore, reflecting its name meaning from the seashore,” P&O Cruises wrote.
The SkyDome was originated on the Iona, which launched in May 2021, with the Arvia set to feature P&O Cruises’ first version of the SkyDome with a retractable roof.
Carnivals Newest Ship Launches Caribbean Cruises
Carnival Cruise Lines newest ship has come to the Caribbean.;
The lines new Mardi Gras cruise ship kicked off its maiden voyage this week, with a seven-day Caribbean cruise sailing out of Port Canaveral.;
That included a return to cruising for the Amber Cove cruise port in the Dominican Republic.;

Virgin Voyages is mostly inclusive, meaning all 20 restaurants, basic drinks plus soda and specialty coffees and gratuities are all included with your price. Expect the ship to be beautiful, modern and a bit edgy.;
If this doesnt sound very different so far, Virgins Scarlet Lady features the first and only tattoo parlour at sea.
