Passenger Cruise Ship Oasis of the Seas Returns to Port of New York-New Jersey & Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal in Bayonne Today; Simulated Test Cruise With Passengers Sails Sunday, August 22, 2021
NORTH BERGEN, NJ Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines ;Oasis of the Seas is scheduled to arrive in the Port of New York and New Jersey this morning, Wednesday, August 18, 2021.; This arrival represents the first time since March 2020 that a cruise ship has called the Port as well as being the largest cruise ship to ever call the Port of New York-New Jersey
;The vessel is expected to reach the Verrazano Narrows around 6 AM and be alongside at the Cape Liberty Cruise Terminal in Bayonne, NJ around 8 AM.; The Oasis will arrive with approximately 1,800 fully vaccinated crewmembers onboard and will spend several days making final preparations for the simulation test cruise required by the CDC.; The simulation test cruise is scheduled to depart on Sunday August 22nd with 700-1000 passengers on a one-week voyage to the Bahamas.; Assuming everything goes well, the first revenue cruise is scheduled to depart on September 5th with about 3,000 passengers.;

This may seem a little backwards but, if the above optionsdont work for you for some reason, you can try parking at one of the lots nearthe Newark Airport.
One thing to understand, though, is that none of theselocations will give you a ride to the cruise port . You canprobably ask, but we seriously doubt it is an option. So, you may find yourselfhaving to make use of public transportation or call a cab or Uber to get to theport from the parking lot.

Port Of Cape Liberty Parking
Getting to the Cape Liberty Cruise Port is the easy part. The hard part is then finding a place to park that wont kill your travel budget. The Port does offer parking for cruise passengers, but that is going to run you about $22 per day, which can get expensive if your cruise is for a week or more. If you have an oversized vehicle, such as a camper or RV, the price per day is $44.
The benefit of parking at the port is that they dont require you to make a reservation to get a spot.
If you want something cheaper, there are other parking options in the New York and New Jersey area that you can consider.

In October 2014, Royal Caribbean and NYC Port Authority dedicated a Cape Liberty cruise terminal for the RCI’s Quantum of the Seas ship.;The new terminal started operations on November 10, 2014.
The new facility is located at Port Terminal Blvd . The USD 55 million building project included port expansion with a new passenger terminal, featuring a total covered area of 125000 ft2 that hosts check-in, customs and immigration, luggage storage and processing area, parking area and also improvements of the existing docking pier. The new terminal building is adjacent to the inaugurated in 2004 terminal.

Head Into New York City
The obvious answer for best things to do near Cape Liberty is visit New York City. There are several options to get there depending on where you are staying. The Big Apple can be reached by the PATH subway system, the bus system, or the Staten Island Ferry. NYC has so much to offer that you certainly wont be able to fit it all in one day. If you want a quick overview of the major attractions and some great photo opportunities, we suggest a sightseeing tour on one of the many hop on hop off bus tours. We took one of these tours last year during one of our trips to the city. With the flexibility of hopping on and off at multiple locations and different route options, you can choose to simply stay on the bus or customize the experience as much as you like. If you will be arriving later in the day, NYC also offers an extensive night life with plenty of bars, restaurants, and experiences. We suggest trying to take in a Broadway show.

Located in Jersey City, Liberty State Park offers some spectacular views of the NYC skyline and Hudson River. From here you can grab photos of the Freedom Tower, Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. That is why it makes our list of the best things to do near Cape Liberty. This state park houses a 2-mile riverwalk with the historic Central Railroad of NJ Terminal located at the northern end , the Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial, and ferry service to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
If you have the time, definitely take the trip over to see the Statue of Liberty. This universal symbol of freedom was given to the United States in 1886 by France. Statue Cruises are available to both Liberty Island and Ellis Island, home of the Immigration Museum. It is recommended that you purchase tickets in advance especially if you are looking for pedestal or crown access at the Statue of Liberty. Nyc Brooklyn Cruise Terminal
Located across Governors Island, Brooklyn NYC cruise port terminal is in Red Hook. LaGuardia Airport is 12 miles away, Newark International Airport 16 miles away and JFK International Airport is 20 miles away.
Brooklyn New York cruise ship terminal used to be a cargo port. You will get very industrial feel. The terminal building on Pier 12 is a new one. The facilities are vending machines, check-in, restrooms and customs. There is a parking area with 500 spots.
