On The Cutting Edge: The Futuristic Celebrity Fleet

From the beginning, Celebrity has been known for high-end design, cutting-edge contemporary art, superior cuisine, and great spas. Fleetwide, the line offers a glamorous, exciting experience while also keeping its prices within reach of the mainstream crowd.

The line jettisoned the last vestiges of the 1990s Celebrity when it transferred the former Celebrity Century out of the fleet in 2015, leaving only ships built since 2000 in the lines primary fleet. Celebrity has also been hard at work updating its Millennium-class ships with features found aboard the lines larger, newer Solstice-class vessels that include Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Silhouette and Celebrity Reflection.

Of course, these renovations are all part of The Celebrity Revolution, a half billion dollar renovation project that will update every ship in the lines fleet with the exception of the upcoming Celebrity Apex and new Celebrity Edge and Celebrity Flora.

Celebrity Cruises: What To Know Before You Go

Celebrity Cruises is buzzing with excitement these days as it gets ready to launch its newest cruise ship, the Edge, which the company is hoping sets a new standard for modern luxury cruising. While Celebritys iconic X brand is considered its premiere luxury ship series, the cruise liner is confident that after Edges November 2018 maiden voyage, it will quickly become the most popular ship in its fleet.

Celebrity Millennium Class Includes 4 Ships:

Greek Islands Cruise with Celebrity Cruises
  • Celebrity Millennium Nr. of guests: 2218 Launched: 2000 Refurbished 2019
  • Celebrity Summit Nr. of guests: 2218- Launched: 2001 Refurbished 2019
  • Celebrity Constellation Nr. of guests: 2184 Launched: 2002
  • Celebrity Infinity Nr. of guests: 2170 Launched: 2001

The oldest of the fleet, the Millennium ships are being brilliantly refurbished. Two have been completed so far. Our latest cruise vacation was on board Summit and is was beautiful. You would never have guessed the cruise ship was nearly 18 years old when we sailed on her.

The only thing we would say is that the Grand Foyer was nice, but no where near the wow factor that you have on the more modern ships.

The Roof Top Terrace is a favorite place to be during the day, and even in the evening if you want to enjoy an open-air movie. And the wine bars are excellent on Milliennium ships.

If you like a smaller cruise ship and you dont miss not having a huge variety of activites on board, then the Millennium class could be for you.

The sailing experience is quieter and generally a more relaxed. It could be the class for you if destinations are your focus and you just want an all-inclusive elegant and easy way to get there.

Choose the refurbished ships when you book. Because youll find a big difference to the overall feel of a modern refurbished vessel compared to one where wear and tear is obvious.
