Allure Of The Seas Royal Caribbean Cruise Line
The Allure of the Seas is the next to the biggest cruise ship on the planet. It has a capacity for almost 6,000 guests but there is so much room that even when fully booked, guests report that there is plenty of room without feeling crowded. There are tons of activities for all ages as well multiple dining options and lots of entertainment. The crew is friendly and helpful which helps to make this one of the most beloved ships in the fleet.
The Disney Dream Class Ships
The newest Disney cruise ships are 40% larger than the Disney classic ships. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy are 1,147 feet long. They can carry a maximum of 4,000 passengers at full capacity and have 1458 crew members.
These are known as the Disney Dream Class Ships.
To put this in perspective it is often quoted that these ships are longer than the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
The Disney Dream was launched in 2011 and the Disney Fantasy followed in 2012.
Choosing The Disney Cruise Itinerary
I honestly made it without much research. I knew I wanted to plan out the Disney World part in detail, but I thought the Disney Cruise portion wasnt as important. Our goal was to have a short trip that would be long enough to be fun, but short enough so that we weren’t going to be home sick.;I chose the Bahamas knowing that we wouldnt get off the ship at that port .
The reason why I had even considered tacking on a Disney Cruise after the Disney World vacation was because I had heard amazing things about Disney’s Oceaneer Club and their It’s a Small World Nursery.
Lesson 1: For your first cruise that includes a Disney World vacation, a 3 night cruise was perfect! If we had just done just the Disney cruise, I think it would have been way to short. However, because we had tacked this on at the end of a Disney World trip, it was a great way to end our vacation. The timing of February made the water a little too cold at Castaway Cay, but the pool water was perfect on the ship!

Best Inside Cabin With A View: Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean invented the concept of the cabin with an interior-facing window. These promenade cabins look out onto the Royal Promenade, an enclosed shopping street lined with stores, restaurants and watering holes. Whether you love an inside cabin with a view or hate the lack of privacy , you will find the biggest of the promenade cabins on the Oasis-class ships.
For The Adults: ‘star Wars’ Superheroes And More
A new “Star Wars”-themed lounge called the Hyperspace Lounge will make;passengers feel like they’re having a beverage on a luxury;spaceship. Celebrity Eclipse Celebrity Cruises
The Celebrity Eclipse Cruise ship made its debut in 2008 with its maiden launch in 2010. This ship was referred to as a game changer within the cruise ship industry. It was equipped with a variety of features that had not previously been used on a cruise ship including a live tree in the atrium and real grass on the lawn. A glass blowing studio was also included for guest who were interested in the craft. The cabins were updated and filled with new and quirky art and it even had a new Apple store for guests to shop in. This was a Solstice class ship which had a lot more to offer in terms of amenities and its still one of the favorites today.
What Comes Standard In Every Stateroom
First, its good to know what comes standard in every Disney Cruise Line stateroom:
- A queen bed
- Seating area
- Wave Phones that allow you to call and text both onboard and at Castaway Cay
- H20 Plus-branded shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion and soap
- Housekeeping services twice a dayMorning cleaning and nightly turndown service
- Life jackets for each person
- Blackout curtains
- Split bathrooms
About those Bathtubs
I love the fact that Disney Cruise Line has a bathtub in almost every stateroom!
This is not the norm for most cruise lines.
With little kids a tub is kind of a must so its nice Disney thought of it all. Naturally they arent as big as your tub at home but they should do the trick for your kiddos.
For adults? Id probably stick with the shower.

Edge Tween Club For Children Aged 1114
When your kid outgrows the fun in the main kid club, dont worry, Edge is waiting just upstairs. Technically, Edge is for kids 11-14, but you can get your 10-year-old in with permission and once they figure that out, its probably all over for the little kid club.
Edge is a much smaller space, but tweens have tons of fun here playing video games, having dance parties, doing crafts, playing trivia games, etc., with their newfound cruise friends.
This club does not utilize parent sign-in and -out, so you need to trust your kid if they are coming to Edge.
Halloween On The High Seas And Very Merrytime Cruises
Holiday themed cruises offer special events like gingerbread making, holiday carols, and the Mickeys Mouse-querade Party. Disneys characters dress in the appropriate seasonal theme and host Halloween or Christmas parties. Trick or treating, costume contests, and Santa Claus are included.
Some of Halloween and Christmas themed cruises overlap with the Marvel Day at Sea cruises, so you can get two different enhanced character and seasonal experiences on the same cruise.

Whats So Great About Disneys Kids Programming
The Oceaneers Club and Lab are for potty trained 3 year olds to 12 year olds. There are tween and teen clubs, nurseries for the diaper wearing crowd, and a huge adult-only section on the boats to enjoy while your kids are in said spaces.
Most kids dont want to leave when parents pick them up for the night. We once tried to collect my son at 8:45PM, and he shooed us away. My husband went back to get him at 9:30PM, and when he returned to our stateroom, he had an energy about him that he had just attended either a rave or a motivational sales conference. He was pumped and had had the time of his life.
Children between the ages of 10 and 12 may not be as enamored with the clubs when the group entertainment is geared for younger children. The tween and teen clubs are better suited, but the tween club starts at age 11.
What To Expect For Adults
With all this talk of characters and kids clubs, the adults may worry there is nothing for them. Fear not! The Disney Magic has a lot of great amenities for adults. Palo, the adults only restaurant on the ship, features an extensive menu of fine cuisine. Italian fare and incredible views of the sea sound like the perfect evening to me!
My husband and I really enjoyed the Quiet Cove Pool, which is reserved for ages 18+. Featuring two whirlpool spas, a pool, plenty of deck chairs, and a dedicated bar, Quiet Cove Pool is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Further unwinding can occur in any one of the three lounges that caters exclusively to adults.;Fathoms, Keys and OGills Pub are perfect for adults looking for a late-night party or relaxing nightcap while out at sea.

Disney Magic Cruise Ship
Weighing in at 83,338 gross tons and measuring 964 feet long by 106 feet wide, the Disney Magic cruise ship is also the smallest in the fleet. I, personally, love this feature of the ship. While mega-ships look great and have more amenities, I would be worn out just walking from one place to another!
Additionally, the Disney Magic has 875 staterooms whereas the Fantasy and Dream have 1,250 staterooms. More staterooms equals more people, and thats not always a plus in my book. Disney Cruise Line pioneered the rotational dining concept, and our family loved eating in a new place every night. On the Magic, youll get to experience Animators Palate, Cariocas, and Lumieres. Each dining experience is expertly Disney themed and provides the ability to branch out and try new things!
Disney Triton Class Ships
There are 3 more Disney ships on the horizon. The Disney Wish is due to be launched in 2022. The next two ships dont yet have scheduled launch dates.
These are known as the Triton Class ships.
We now know some things about the new Disney Wish. You can follow the Disney Wish Construction with us. WE constantly update all the information about the details of the new Disney Ship as they are announced.
The Disney Fantasy-class ships are 130,000 gross tons and the new ships will be 140,000.
However, we know that the new Disney ships will only have the same amount of staterooms at 1,250 as the Fantasy and Dream. Therefore it seems that there will be more room for the entertainment spaces on the Triton Class ships.
We would guess that the majority will be balcony staterooms on the new Disney cruise ships.
Its a pretty good bet that the new Disney ships will have the virtual portholes in the inside staterooms as well. Another highly likely feature of the new Disney cruise ships is that there will be an expanded concierge class.
This is a very exciting time for Disney cruise lines. Not only will there soon be 3 new ships, but there will also be a brand new Disney private island location.
Will the new ships be the best Disney cruise ships? Anything which we say now will of course just be speculation. However, we are sure that the new Disney cruise ships will be amazing!

Once my 18 month old stepped into this nursery, she was in love! It was a small and quaint space! My kiddo was always happy when she came back to us. The teachers were super sweet. Even on our first day at the open house the nursery did, my little one didn’t skip a beat playing with all the toys. I didn’t hesitate to use this service at all . At one point, they took a picture with her with Donald Duck!

For The Kids: The Oceaneer Club
Children will also enjoy a feature called the Oceaneer Club, which hasn’t been utilized on any of Disney’s previous four cruise ships.
Sticking with the first-of-its-kind theme, children enter through a secret entrance that essentially looks like a small, round portal. Upon entering, it turns into a slide that whisks them into the Oceaneer Club. Sorry adults, it’s not for you. They noted there will also be an adult entrance its called a door.
The Oceaneer Club is for children ages 3 to 12 and has several unique experiences.
