News: Adventures By Disney Extends Its Fully Refundable Deposits For Eligible Trips
World travel might be seeing some slight modifications, but there are still many countries closed to foreign visitors at this time. So, Adventures by Disney has continued to cancel itineraries and extend flexible cancelation policies in the meantime.
And, now even more information has been released about which upcoming 2021 itineraries will also have fully refundable trip deposits.
Previously, Disney had noted that fully refundable deposits were available for bookings that were made through June 30th. And, now that were nearing the end of June, Adventures by Disney has modified the eligibility. The website states that New bookings of Land Adventures, Escapes and river cruises made through September 30, 2021 for travel through March 31, 2022 are eligible for fully refundable deposits up until the final payment date.
Its important to note that the Disneyland Resort and Southern California Adventure Escape departures starting on March 22nd are not eligible for these modified cancelations and final payment policies. The same ineligibility extends to all of the Buenos Aires Escape departures and expedition cruise sailings.
As more updates about Adventures by Disneys itineraries are released, well be sure to give you all the information you need to know. And, you can stay tuned with All Ears for the latest Disney entertainment and news!

Disney Cruise Line Updates Concierge Level Vacation Protection Plan
by Sarah Phillips·May 17, 2021
More big news coming from Disney Cruise Line this morning! Starting today for guests booked in a Concierge Suite or Concierge Stateroom, when Disney Cruise Lines Vacation Protection Plan is added to their reservation it must be paid in full at that time. Currently this change only affects Concierge Suite or Concierge Stateroom guests.
When booking a Concierge Suite or Concierge Stateroom, Clients wishing to add Disney Cruise Lines Vacation Protection Plan to the reservation must add and pay for the Vacation Protection Plan at the time the deposit is paid on the reservation. Deposits for Concierge Suites and Concierge Staterooms are non-refundable. Disney Cruise Lines Vacation Protection Plan has to be paid prior to a non-refundable charge being applied to the reservation.
Similarly to Restricted Air, Concierge Suites and Concierge Staterooms are subject to cancellation fees as soon as the deposit payment is made therefore, Disney Cruise Lines Vacation Protection Plan cannot be added once the deposit has been paid. Should guests elect to decline Disney Cruise Lines Vacation Protection Plan, they will be unable to add it later, even if they downgrade to a non-Concierge stateroom.
New Disney Cruise Line Cancellation And Final Payment Policy
Disney Cruise Line has notified travel agents of changes to its cancellation and final payment policy. The policy goes into effect for guests who book a new cruise March 3, 2015, or later, or who change a modify and existing reservation after that date. What was once summed up in two bullet points on Disneys site is now a bit more complicated. TouringPlans has tried to make it a little easier to grasp. All cruises require a deposit of 20% of the vacation cost to book except cruises booked while onboard, which only require a 10% deposit.
What hasnt changed:Categories IGT, OGT, and VGT are still non-refundable, non-transferrable, and must be paid in full at the time of booking. These are restricted rates that Disney used to fill the last few cabins on its cruises. For Concierge level staterooms, all deposits are non-refundable.
What has changed:Nearly everything else.
Disney has also changed its holiday policies and calls out 6, 7, 8, and 9-night cruises into a separate policy category. Note that the latter category includes all cruises on the Fantasy.
Some notes: Alaska cruises are non-U.S. because they embark and debark from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Southern Caribbean cruises out of San Juan and the San Juan to Miami cruise are U.S. cruises. Panama Canal cruises and trans-Atlantic cruises embark and/or debark from U.S. ports, but are longer than 10 nights.

What Disney Cruise Line Is Changing

Reservations made prior to that date will be grandfathered, meaning that the final payment date will not change.
So what will the new final payment dates be?
- For cruises lasting 1-5 nights, final payment will come due 90 days prior to sailing for all guests except those traveling in suites or concierge class stateroom. Final payment for suite and concierge guests will now be 120 days prior to sailing. Its worth noting that for suite and concierge guests, the deposit is entirely non-refundable.
- On cruises lasting six nights or more, final payment will come due 120 days prior to sailing for all guests except those traveling in suites or concierge class stateroom. Final payment for suite and concierge guests will now be 150 days prior to sailing. Again, the deposits paid by suite and concierge guests are non-refundable.
After the final payment date passes, any cancellation incurs a fee that can run anywhere from the amount of the deposit, per guest, to the entire cost of the cruise if cancellation occurs 14 days or less before sailing and 29 days of less before sailing .

Saving Money On Your Dcl Stateroom

The best way to save money on your cruise is to book as soon as you know your plans. Cruises price rooms by tiers, the earlier you book the lower the cost. If you book close to your departure date, you will find the room prices much higher.
Also be aware that the higher categories sell out quickly. You will need to decide if having a verandah or suite is important enough to your family to spend the extra money.
Discount Disney Cruise Line Rates
Disney Cruise Line occasionally offers special pricing for certain individuals. Florida residents, military personnel, travel agents, and cast members are sometimes offered discounted rates on certain sail dates. Disney sometimes offers discounted rates to the general public on some of its less busy sail dates. They may also offer specials to families with children with a Kids Sail Free offer. Please be aware that the most popular holiday/school vacation sail dates will carry the highest pricing and offer no discounts.
Some Travel Agencies run promotions offering an incentive to book through them. These usually take the form of a shipboard credit . This means that the agency will place a credit in your shipboard account. While onboard, you can use this credit for spa treatments, merchandise, photos, etc. These credits expire at the end of the cruise.
Check out our Disney Cruise Line Discounts page to find some great prices.

Tips And Tricks For Picking A Stateroom
Disney Cruise Line has several different categories of staterooms with somewhat confusing names and descriptions. Heres an overview of the various types and the key differences between them, with some notes on our picks for the best value.
How Important is Stateroom Location?
There are two classic rules of thumb about stateroom location: higher on the ship is better and closer to the center of the ship is better. In our experience, those rules of thumb are not actually very helpful.
Similarly, being higher on the ship doesnt hugely improve your views or experience. You get a slightly better view from a verandah on deck 8 than on deck 5, but only slightly. In the few cases where youd like a view from as high as possible , youll want to go up to the top deck for the best view anyway. Everything on the ship is a quick elevator ride away no matter which deck you are on.
Category Numbers And Letters
Disney is changing its classifications of room categories a bit starting in 2022, so some of this guide changes for those cruises. Any cruise that embarks in calendar year 2021 or before uses the old system, and any cruise that embarks in calendar year 2022 or later uses the new system. Where it makes a difference, well call it out below.
