Almost any of the downtown hotels will be convenient to the cruise ship dock and could be walkable or a reasonable taxi ride for the two of you. Our downtown favorite is the Mayflower Park Hotel rooms under $200 and right in the center of shopping and dozens of excellent restaurants within 2 or 3 blocks. Pike Place Market is about 3 blocks away, Nordstrom nearby, Macys across the street, and the monorail to Space Needle and Seattle Center is on the same block.
If you want reasonable, check out Priceline to name your own price. You can usually get a good hotel for less than $100. Getting around is pretty easy. Downtown core has free ride zone for metro.
