Carnival Cruise Rooms That Sleep 4

Don't Miss

Advantages Of Quad Cabins

Carnival Breeze Interior Stateroom Tour

Getting a quad family cabin is a quite economical choice, whether it’s for your family or just for a group of friends. While it’s likely you’ll have to pay extra to add additional people, it should still end up being less expensive per person than if you were traveling with a smaller group. Since the point of a cruise is to enjoy the ship and the excursions available in port for most, it may be worth it to sacrifice a little bit of comfort just for the cost savings involved. And it never hurts to have a little extra family bonding, especially in paradise.

Carnival Offers Ample Amenities

Carnival’s inside staterooms are 185 square feet on average, beginning at $414 per person. For $7 more per person a day, you can upgrade to a porthole stateroom with an ocean view. Some also come with connecting rooms and sleep up to five guests.

The staterooms include a few more amenities than Norwegian: desk, TV, closet, dresser, vanity, and sofa, depending on the room. It also includes a 24-hour room steward, television, telephone, and individual climate control.

Can I Fit My Entire Family In One Cruise Room

Many regular cruise rooms, also called cabins or staterooms, can sleep up to four people. All rooms have two twin beds that can be pushed together to form a queen or king additional sleeping spots might be a pullout sofa or upper bunks that fold down or pull down from the wall or ceiling. Depending on the size of the room, fitting four people — and all of their belongings — in one cabin can be tight.

Some cabins are designated as family staterooms and can sleep five or more. Additionally, some suites that aren’t specially geared to families have beds for five or more people.

If you don’t want to squeeze your entire family into one cabin, try booking adjacent cabins that interconnect.

The 9 Different Types Of Interior Rooms

When it comes to inside staterooms on Carnival cruise ships, there are lots of different types to choose from, each of which has a category code. While not every ship will have every category, there will still be lots of different accommodation types to consider.

Suites On Carnival Cruise Line Ships

As noted above, Carnival ships generally dont offer a lot of suites. And, for the most part, the suites that they do have are relatively modest in size and amenities as compared to the suites at some of the lines rivals.

The biggest suites on Carnival Panorama, the ships eight Grand Suites, have just 345 square feet of interior space, plus an 85-square-feet balcony. Contrast that to the biggest suites on Royal Caribbean ships, which can measure more than 1,500 square feet.

Suites on Carnival ships also havent traditionally come with butlers and access to private concierge lounges like the suites on many other vessels.

Still, some of that began to change with the debut of Carnivals new Mardi Gras in 2021. Carnival went big with the suites on the groundbreaking, 5,282-passenger vessel the biggest Carnival ship ever.

Sailing since the summer of 2021, Mardi Gras features two sprawling Presidential Suites that measure 1,120 square feet bigger than any other accommodations in the lines fleet.

Located at the top of the ship on Deck 17, the complexes have separate living and sleeping areas as well as the most expansive balconies in the Carnival fleet all unusual-for-Carnival features. Measuring more than 600 square feet, the balconies, notably, also offer a lounging area with a large sunbed as well as a private outdoor hot tub and shower.

Norwegian The Haven Family Villa

Available on nine Norwegian ships, these two-bedroom family villas with a balcony are located in The Haven, the ship within a ship area thats reserved exclusively for Haven guests. The villas offer roughly 600 square feet of space spread out over an oceanview master bedroom featuring a king-size bed and private bathroom that has both a tub and separate shower, and a second bedroom with a sofa bed for two and its own bathroom. Theres also a living room and dining area with an additional single sofa bed. For families of four, five, or six that are cruising Norwegian, the Haven Family Villa, with its refined decor and ample space, plus the 24-hour butlers, private dining, and courtyard with pool, is impossible to beat.

Drawbacks Of Quad Cabins

If you plan to spend a significant amount of time in your cabin, it’s likely you will find your cruise ship quad family cabin to be a bit cramped. It can also be inconvenient to have four people share one small bathroom. The great thing about being on a cruise ship, though, is that there is always another bathroom just down the hallway or up a few stairs. If you have older children, consider whether or not they may resent the lack of privacy these accommodations bring with them. If that is the case, you may find it preferable to get two adjoining double staterooms instead.

Should You Book An Interior Room On A Carnival Cruise

Carnival Splendor Outside Stateroom 8443 Tour – 4 Person Quad Setup, plus TIPS!

Theres no right or wrong answer on which is the best room on a Carnival cruise because its all dependent on the individual. You might be someone who feels claustrophobic in an Interior room, and if thats the case then you definitely shouldnt book one! Its not worth making yourself feel uncomfortable just to save some money.

But, if you arent going to feel cramped, or if you plan on barely spending any awake time in your cabin at all, then an Interior Room could be a really good option. They can be pretty cheap, depending on the itinerary and ship, and because theyre a little cosier you might even sleep better.

However dont forget about the lack of natural light, which could be a dealbreaker. If you think that natural light is important in your bedroom then look out for Interior rooms with portholes or obstructed views, or consider paying a little more for an Ocean View stateroom.

If space is important to you, and you think youve got the budget to spare, then a Balcony could be a better option. Theyre the best choice if you are prone to feeling cramped because even just a small balcony in the fresh air can feel very open and relaxing.

Which One Is The Best

Norwegian, Carnival, and Royal Caribbean all have their strengths, but some outweigh others.

Carnival may be the priciest on the list, but when you look at it from the perspective of price per square foot, the cost of an interior stateroom on board is only three cents more than Royal Caribbean and Carnival and you’re getting more square footage and standard amenities than the other two. With Carnival, you’re getting a lot more bang for your buck.

However, if you’re looking for a more cost-effective option, Royal Caribbean is more affordable than both Carnival and Norwegian. While it doesn’t have as many rooms or amenities as Carnival, it does have more than the room on Norwegian Dawn, at the second most affordable price. And that remains true even if you upgrade to a room with a virtual balcony or promenade view window.

At the end of the day, it really depends on what’s most important to you when it comes to your cruise room.

Other Royal Caribbean Cabins That Sleep 4 Or More

Many of Royal Caribbeans standard cabins and suites can sleep three or four guests, either with sofa beds or pull-down bunks above. A family of four will fit, but space might be tight when everyone is getting ready at the same time for dinner or an outing in port.

Royal Caribbean has plenty of connecting cabins if you have the budget to spend more for that extra living and bathroom space. Just be sure you price compare because it might be better value to book one suite, with the accompanying Royal Suite Class perks, than two standard cabins.

Sleeping Arrangements On Carnival Cruise

We are booking a cruise for the first time. We have a family of four my husband and I, and our daughter and son who are eight and 11 years old. Will we be cramped in one cabin? Are the rooms a king bed with a sofa pull out?

I would say you would be cramped based on the cabins we have had. Much depends on the ship and the type of cabin. We will need more info from you to give any kind of a full answer.

We will be on the Carnival Liberty ship. We are booking a balcony room.

I would look at the deck plans some cabin will be quads with pullmans that come down from the ceiling & put up during the day

Usually the beds are not king size maybe queen

Some ships have family cabins but I think you need to call to book those

A lot will depend on what you are prepared to pay.

Since this is a first cruise, let me try to fill in some of the things I wondered on a first cruise:

the cabin is smaller than a hotel room.

with the beds unfolded, you will not have a wide, straight shot at the bathroom at night. You will have to be careful not to bump into things at night.

Google is your friend. I Googled “carnival liberty quad balcony cabin with beds out” and clicked on images, and found a ton of pictures. While it may not be your exact cabin, or even exact ship, Carnival ships in the same class are virtually identical.

Here’s the best, IMO, showing the path to the bathroom:

A Carnival Cruise Line Cabin Primer

As is typical for many cruise ships, Carnival vessels offer cabins in four broad categories: Windowless inside cabins, oceanview cabins, balcony cabins and suites.

On newer Carnival ships, a significant portion of cabins are balcony cabins the category of cabin that everyone wants these days. But the ratio of balcony cabins to non-balcony cabins on Carnivals newer ships isnt nearly as high as youll find on the newer ships of some rival lines such as Royal Caribbean. About 44% of the 2,004 cabins on Carnivals three-year-old Carnival Panorama are balcony cabins, for instance. Compare that to the 65% of cabins on Royal Caribbeans three-year-old Symphony of the Seas that are balcony cabins.

As noted above, Carnival ships also have fewer suites than youll find on the ships of some of its rival lines. By contrast, the lines newer ships have a higher percentage of inside cabins than youll find on the newer ships of some rival lines.

Heres a breakdown of the broad cabin categories on Carnival Panorama, which is typical of the lines newer ships:

Inside cabins: 789 Balcony cabins: 891 Suites: 70

On older Carnival ships , there are far fewer balcony cabins. Only 10% of the 1,028 cabins on Carnivals oldest vessel, the 1991-built Carnival Ecstasy, are balcony cabins.

On Carnival Ecstasy, inside cabins and ocean-view cabins make up the majority of accommodations, and suites account for 5% of rooms:

Inside cabins: 408 Balcony cabins: 98 Suites: 54

Other Disney Cabins That Sleep 4 Or More

Carnival Dream Balcony Cabin sleeps 4 – Deck 7

As we said, families cant go wrong with any cabin on a Disney ship. Most rooms sleep three or four, and all but the smallest have split baths one room with a toilet and sink and a second with a tub/shower combo and sink. Inside cabins lack a window but many make up for it with a virtual porthole. These round screens look like porthole windows and show camera footage from the bow of the ship, enhanced with animated friends who pop in to wave hello.

On Disney cruise ships, its also easy for families to book connecting cabins to gain that coveted bathroom, closet, and living space, and avoid the squeeze that comes from teens and parents sharing a room.

What Is A Havana Interior

A Havana Interior stateroom is decorated in a more luxurious Old Havana style and allows guests to access the exclusive Havana Pool area, where you can relax in peace. For that reason, only guests aged 12 and over can stay in a Havana cabin.

Theyre not really any more spacious than a standard Interior, so youre just getting a more premium version of the same room with access to that tranquil pool away from some of the noise of the family pools.

The Havana Pool area has an exclusive swimming pool, two large hot tubs and a relaxation area with umbrellas, palm trees and comfy seating. Theres also the Havana Bar this is open to all guests, not just those in Havana rooms. It has lively Latin music and Cuban-inspired coffees and cocktails, making it a really fun place to hang out.

Havana Interior cabins are available on Mardi Gras, Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon and Carnival Panorama.
