Cunards Oceanview Britannia Single Staterooms
Three ships in Cunards fleet offer solo cabins, but only one the iconic Queen Mary 2, which most often sails transatlantic voyages between London and New York has 15 that feature ocean views. The lines Britannia Single staterooms are anywhere from 178 to 183 square feet in size, and they include large windows and single beds.
Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria each have nine single staterooms, but theyre a mix of oceanviews and insides with no view at all.
Booking No Single Supplement Cruise Deals
As sailings organized especially for singles, these are another very well-accepted type of land and sea travel deals. The Single Parent Cruise specials, though rarely available, offer great opportunities to share life experiences, to meet people with common interests, and to make new friends all over the world.
Which Cruise Lines Offer Single Occupancy Rates
Go solo on a cruise without splurging on single supplements.
Several large cruise lines are catching the wave of an expanding singles market by providing staterooms for singles, socializing opportunities and adjusted fare structures. Solo travelers may find ocean and river cruises an appealing vacation option due to built-in entertainment, offshore excursions, onboard dining options and ease of transport. However, a single occupancy fare of 200 percent puts a big dent in the budget. When cruise lines waive the supplement and provide dedicated singles-only experiences, they become even more attractive to solo passengers, from millennials to baby boomers.

Who Provides The Best Value
Both cruise lines are owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd with Celebrity Cruises leveraged as a premium line while Royal Caribbean International is a contemporary line. Both offer similar inclusions in the cruise price however the fares for are not as inclusive as sister lines, Azamara or Silversea and other lines such as Viking, Oceania, and Regent Seven Seas.
On face value the base cost of a comparable cruise may be marginally cheaper on RCI than on Celebrity, however, there isnt a huge price difference between these sister lines for similar voyages. Cost may be impacted by the age and class of the ship and the value also depends on the time of year you want to cruise and the promotions that each line might offer that lead to discounted prices or add on offers such as free onboard credit.
Neither line is all inclusive, and on each you need to factor in onboard costs such as specialty dining, beverage packages, Wi-Fi packages, and the cost of excursions. If you book during sales and maximise offers and promotions such as Celebritys Sail Your Way you can leverage some extra perks.
Celebrity also offers Expedition cruising, but for the purposes of this comparison it is the classic, contemporary cruise holiday that each line offers that is in focus.
Travel Solo Cruise List Which Ships Have Solo Cabins
I was on a recent twitter cruise chat and asked the cruise line representative do you have any solo cabins or will you waive the single supplement on any sailings and then crickets.; They go dark and no longer engage with me.; Ignoring a large part of the travel community the solo traveler cruise lines continue to leave piles of money on the table in my opinion. I like to say a cruise is a destination appetizer so you know if you want to return and explore deeper.; Cruises have pros/cons but for the solo traveler its a wonderful way to travel around the world and see a good number of destinations in one trip.; Unpack once, have the safety to do as much or as little as you want.; Be social or be anti-social there are no rules.; If you want to cruise solo, the big question is Which Ships Have Solo Cabins?; Ive tried my best to put together a list of ships and current solo cabin allocations.; Note that the numbers can change but this is a starting point for your cruise research.

So far four ships have emerged from Celebrity Cruises Revolution Millennium, Summit, Equinox and Silhouette with Constellation, Infinity, Eclipse, Solstice and Reflection still to be upgraded. Celebrity Silhouette was launched in May 2011, one of five Solstice class ships in Celebrity Cruises 14-strong fleet, and was updated in January 2020 to feature Kelly Hoppen interiors and new spaces first seen on Celebrity Edge.
Suites On Princess Cruises Ships
As mentioned above, Princess ships generally have fewer suites than the ships operated by some of its biggest competitors. The line also isnt known for particularly giant suites.
Princesss two newest ships Enchanted Princess and Sky Princess have the lines first truly large standalone suites, dubbed Sky Suites. There are two of them on each of the vessels, and they measure a generous 1,792 square feet . With two bedrooms plus a living room with a pullout sofa, the Sky Suites are the first Princess accommodations designed for up to five people.
Still, even the Sky Suites on Enchanted Princess and Sky Princess arent the sort of truly epic suites with huge interior living spaces that youll find on the latest ships from such competitors as Celebrity and Royal Caribbean. The latest Celebrity vessels, for instance, offer so-called Iconic Suites that have twice as much interior space as the Sky Suites.
If youre the kind of cruiser who only is happy in a cabin of truly giant proportions , Princess probably isnt your line.
Still, youll find at least a few suites of a decent size on every Princess ship. The lines seven Grand Class vessels each offer two family suites at their fronts that can be created by connecting a minisuite with an adjacent inside cabin to create a six- to eight-person complex.
Each of the lines Royal Class ships has at least 36 suites.

Mscs Solo Inside Rooms For One
MSC Cruises has undertaken a shipbuilding boom, rapidly increasing the size of its fleet in a bid to make itself the largest cruise line by 2030. As the lines ships grow in size and amenities, they have begun to add cabins for solos. Currently, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Virtuosa, MSC Grandiosa and MSC Bellissima are outfitted with rooms for one.
However, they are all insides with a single bed and roughly 129 square feet of space.
Which Line Is Best For Couples
Both RCI and Celebrity ships are popular with couples. The choice is most likely to come down to your onboard interests, and how you like to relax. While Celebrity takes the edge on food and wine, and deck space dedicated to relaxation, RCIs non-stop adrenaline fuelled fun is not just for families. There are plenty of options on both cruise lines for couples of all ages, its more a matter of what you are seeking from your onboard life.
Foodies and wine lovers will find Celebrity offers a more sophisticated range of dining options . With all dining options overseen by Michelin-star resumed chefs, menus offer a culinary journey of epicurean proportions, Celebrity has focused on food served in elegant surroundings as a hallmark of their onboard experience. Furthermore, Celebrity showcases the largest and rarest wine collection at sea.
On Edge Class ships, couples will love The Magic Carpet dining and bar, which transforms from restaurant to bar to an extension of the pool deck depending on which deck it is docked. Eden on Edge ships offers an adult sophisticated dining experience in the evenings where performance art and dining blend to offer a unique at sea dining experience.

Are Solo Cruise Cabins A Good Deal
Rates for solo cabins aren’t fixed and can fluctuate widely based on season, destination, customer demand and other variables. As this is the case with any cruise room, comparing single cruise room prices to standard cabin prices can be tricky and is best done on a case-by-case basis.
A good rule of thumb is that you can generally expect solo cruise cabins to start out priced higher than the per-person rate for a double-occupancy stateroom, but lower than the rate for a single person booking a double-occupancy stateroom, when factoring in the single supplement. Cruise lines offering solo cabins quote fares averaging about 125 to 160 percent more, when compared to the per-passenger rates in shared double-occupancy room.
Solo cruise cabins are intended to be a better deal than the single supplement rates for singles booking double-occupancy cabins, which typically average 125 to 200 percent. For example, when we checked, Norwegian listed a sample solo cabin fare in a studio stateroom for a July sailing at $1,099 — a deal compared to the cost of booking a double-occupancy room with a single supplement at $1,898.
However, as solo cruise cabin inventory is quite limited and coveted solo cabins quickly book up on ships, it’s not unheard of that the more widely available standard double-occupancy cabins offer more affordable fares — even with the added single supplement. Word to the wise: Book early to get your hands on the best solo cruise cabin rates.

Best Cruise Lines For Solo Travelers
Solo traveling can be quite liberating, and it’s even more so when you’re on a cruise. Imagine having loads of downtime to relax, recharge and maybe read all those books you’ve neglected for so long. When you cruise as a solo, you’re able to dine when you want, choose the port experiences that you want and spend time doing the activities that you want to do, without compromising with other people.
In this coupled-up world, a solo traveler can find a few things difficult when cruising alone. Mega-ships can be so big that it can be hard to meet people and run into them again onboard. Snagging solo tables or finding dining companions if you do want company can be hard, especially in an era where social distancing has become the norm. Then there’s the issue of cost: A solo can expect to pay between 125 percent and 200 percent of the published cruise fare to cover the cost of the “missing” passenger.
Some cruise lines make an effort to cater to solos. Some will greatly reduce or even waive single supplements to fill berths, or offer meet-and-greets or dining options for single cruisers. Several lines offer dedicated solo cabins, touting priced-for-one fares that generally run higher than the per-person cost for a double occupancy cabin, but lower than assuming the cost of the single supplement on a standard cabin.
Here is a look at the seven best cruise lines for solo travelers who are ready for their own adventure.
