Go Play A Round Of Golf

For golf lovers, there is no better way to soak up the Bermuda sun than playing a round of golf on one of its five golf courses.

If you have the cash, begin with the prestigious Port Royal course, where you are destined to get some star sightings of celebrities and PGA players. This is also one of the best courses for advanced players, so if you are a beginner, this will be extremely challenging.

If that is not your scene, then play at Turtle Hill Golf Club, Tuckers Point, Belmont Hills, Ocean View, or Riddells Bay Golf and Country Club.

Bermuda Cruises Travel Tips

Super Bowl at Sea 2022 What Happens on the Ship
  • The main form of transportation in Bermuda is walking or by motorbike. It’s impossible to rent a car when you visit the island because the government banned car rentals.
  • The island of Bermuda is most well-known for its beaches, so make time to visit at least one beach during your trip. You truly won’t regret it because each beach is like paradise on earth. Keep in mind that some beaches are hidden-gems while others are a lot more popular!
  • Bermuda can be quite expensive, and you can quickly rack up a costly bill while you’re out at a restaurant. Make sure you pay close attention to the cost of things when you’re out and about!
  • Don’t drink the tap water in Bermuda because the water isn’t super clean or safe. Instead, be sure to purchase water bottles while you’re out to have something to drink during your trip.
  • If you go swimming, make sure to be on the lookout for jellyfish that can sting and other animals that might cause you harm in the water. It’s not likely that you’ll get stung, but it’s good to keep your eyes open just in case.
  • Make sure you pack your swimsuit, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Bermuda sees a lot of sun and you’ll want to protect yourself when you visit the beaches.

Go On The Bermuda Reef Explorer

If you are not much of a snorkeler or deep-water swimmer, you are in luck thanks to the Bermuda Reef Explorer. This is a double-leveled, glass-bottom boat that was custom designed to give you an experience like you were swimming yourself. Only this time, you do not have to get wet!

Those who want to snorkel can disembark the boat for a closer look at the thousands of tropical fish surrounding the reefs. You will also find sea turtles, colorful coral reefs, and an 18th-century shipwreck.

Why Cruise To Bermuda

If youre looking to spend the night in a tropical place, consider a cruise to Bermuda. Sailings to the British island only a few hundred miles off the coast of North Carolina — typically spend two days in port, allowing guests to really dig their toes into its famous pink-sand beaches.

For all of its refined island appeal, Bermuda can get a pricy. Hotel nights, drinks and meals quickly accumulate a hefty vacation price tag, which makes your ship — a virtual floating hotel — a great option for visiting. Though it’s encouraged to try some of the local cuisine , it’s handy to have included meals and amenities waiting for you back onboard if your wallet needs a break.

Ministerial Statement: Resumption Of Cruise Ships

Mr. Speaker, there is no tourism without transport. The cruise ship industry is a key revenue generator for Bermuda. On average, the economic impact from the industry is $170M, with approximately 185 ship calls annually. In 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the island saw only four calls out of the scheduled 196 projected calls. In 2021, 189 calls were originally projected, and the number of calls continues to dwindle. The Cruise Ship schedule requires a complete overhaul because of daily cancellations. To date, there have not been any calls in 2021.

Mr. Speaker, looking ahead, Bermuda is in a unique position of having a strong and proven COVID-19 response plan to mitigatethe importation of the virus through legislation, rigorous PCR Nasal Pharyngeal testing, and contact tracing. We also regularly updated stakeholder guidance to keep our community safe and our commercial and private marine and air borders open. With Bermudas early lockdown and stringent covid-19 health protocols, this has been a big win for Bermuda, including Bermuda earning the World Travel & Tourism Council Safe Travels stamp, a designation awarded to destinations with the highest in health-safety protocols. Also, important, Bermudahas been keeping its Reproductive number under 1, and, morerecently, the US Centers for Disease Control reduced Bermudas travel advisory ranking down to Level 2.

Thank You, Mr. Speaker!

Pcr Testing 96 Hours Prior To Departure

Bermuda requires all guests entering the country by cruise ship to take a COVID-19 PCR test within 96-hours before their cruise. This test is on top of the other testing that Norwegian Cruise Line already requires and a letter has already been sent out with the details to travel agents and guests.

Once guests have taken the PCR test, they should register on the Bermuda Tourism website. The negative test result from the PCR test should be uploaded to the Bermuda Tourism website within 72 hours before sailing.

Thats not all though. When guests register, they are also required to pay $75 for each person in their travel party. Therefore, a family of four traveling together onboard Norwegian Breakaway will be required to pay an additional $300 to the Bermuda authorities.

Once registration and payments have been made, the submissions will be assessed. Once successful, guests will be issued a travel authority number, which passengers must present at the terminal before boarding.

Once guests arrive in the terminal, they will also get an Antigen test and be required to undergo a further PCR swab test inside the terminal as part of the Bermuda pre-arrival requirements. The results will then be processed by an outside lab the following day, and the results will be sent to the ship.

The new protocols outlined by NCL are another example of how cruise lines have been heavily affected by the considerable variations in travel and entry requirements that are in place worldwide.

A few weeks ago, the Bahamas and USVI changed their protocols which prompted most cruise lines to switch to do fully vaccinated cruises only, barring some limited exceptions. The UK has had a ban on international cruises until recently, and the many changes inside the United States coming from the CDC have been well documented.

So far, Norwegian Cruise Line had managed not to change, or make only minor changes, to their onboard policies due to their 100% vaccination requirement that has always been part of the cruise lines protocols.

At the very least, it means that guests can enjoy their vacation with relative peace of mind. With 100% of the guests fully vaccinated at least two weeks before the cruises start and tested three times, the chances of catching COVID-19 become relatively negligible.

The 3,963-passenger Norwegian Breakawayrestarted operations from New York on September 26 and was the first in the fleet to resume from the Big Apple. In-store for the guests is a cruise where all outlets are open fully, no social distancing is necessary, masks are not required, and all buffets, restaurants, and bars are open as usual.
