Norwegian Cruise Line will begin taking bookings today for its newest ship, Norwegian Prima, the first ship in its new Prima Class. This exciting next-generation ship is NCLs first major redesign in nearly ten years. Prima, which means first in Italian, is scheduled toset sail in summer 2022.
In an ambitious six-ship rollout, five additional ships in the same class are planned for launch, one each successive year through 2027. NCL just released details describing some of the enhancements guests can expect in terms of ship design, service and itineraries.

Thats not to say that the cruise line is perfect. While we havent sailed every ship in the fleet, there is a big difference between the newest ships and older ships weve seen . Your impression of the line may vary based on whether you sail an older ship or the newer fleet.

The Passenger Vessel Services Act And How It Affects Cruises
The related law that has a real effect on the cruise industry since the cargo of a cruise ship is you is the Passenger Vessel Services Act of 1886, which is applicable even though it was enacted before the cruise industry existed as we know it.
The law says that if an itinerary begins and ends in a U.S. port, foreign-flagged cruise lines must call on foreign ports of call as well. They must board in a place in the itinerary that includes a foreign port as part of the remaining portion of the cruise.
