How Much Does A Disney Cruise Cost

Disney Cruise Line is a premium cruise line. Fares tend to be higher than those of mainstream lines, but they are also more inclusive. A prime example of this is soft drinks included in Disney Cruise Line fares but not on most mainstream cruise lines.

Disney Cruise Line includes a few things in its fares that cost extra on other lines. For example, there is no additional charge for soft drinks on Disney ships at meals and at the self-serve taps by the pool.

Embarkation Day Concierge Perks On Disney Cruise Line

Everything You Need to Know About Disney Cruise WiFi ...

Once the day arrives for your Disney Cruise to start there are some very nice perks and benefits to being a Disney Cruise Concierge Guest.

All Concierge Guests can use the Concierge Lounge. This is a very nice benefit. The Port Canaveral Cruise Port is an excellent port, but it gets very crowded. The Concierge Lounge at Port Canaveral is not by any means luxurious, but it does give you a nice place to actually sit and wait!

One of the best perks is that you will get to board the ship before anyone else. Concierge guests are always in Boarding Group 1.

Not only can you be first onboard the ship, but instead of going to the craziness of Cabanas as the start of your cruise, you get to go straight to the Concierge Lounge if you want to. There are buffet snacks and drinks available.

Here are lots more details about Embarkation Day on a Disney Cruise.

A Word Of Caution About Cruise Line Wi

Certain apps, a variety of service options, port of call, and destinations along your cruise can all impact the internet service on a ship.

If these services and having access to friends, coworkers, work, or even social media feeds are important to you, do your research before embarking as not all cruise lines have given their online services the same consideration.

Helpful Disney Cruise Wifi Tips

If you have purchased a Connect at Sea package or are using the free 50MB, turn off all background downloads or updates. This prevents your data from being used up faster.

iPhones on iOS 13 and higher have a low data mode that automatically restricts any background work such as transferring to iCloud.

Simply tap the i next to DCL-GUEST in your wifi settings and click the slider for the low-data mode. Everything else is taken care of in the background.

Another good rule of thumb is to log off the wifi once you are done using it. This will also help prevent any accidental background data from using your megabytes.

How Do You Connect

When you board your Disney Cruise, you will be given a paper with information on cost, how to connect to devices, and other frequently asked questions. They are even kind enough to give you a paper with information on how to minimize data consumption. Use it, follow it. Trust me. You want to turn off apps, background apps, your photo stream, etc.. All the instructions are on the paper.

Usually they will have an offer to sign up for 50 MB for free on the first night of the cruise. I use that as my trial run. Thats also how I found out I did not follow the instructions correctly on how to minimize data. I used that 50 MB in about 5 minutes.

So I went to the desk to get some help. I feel awful, because I cant remember the name of the cast member at the desk who helped me. I handed my phone over to him and he worked his magic. He also gave me my 50 MB back to try again. This time I was in business.

TravelingMom Tip: If you turn off iCloud Backup while onboard, dont forget to turn it back on once youre on land. I almost lost a lot of pictures.

Disney Cruise Extra Costs

So you are ready to book your Disney cruise, but still want to know what hidden fees you are missing? Heres a breakdown of everything you may have to pay extra for on your cruise:

  • Gratuities. Gratuities are recommended at $12 per person per night. This will automatically be charged to your on-board account at the end of your cruise unless you go to Guest Services to make any changes. Tip envelopes will also be left in your stateroom the last night of your cruise. Most people tend to tip their servers in addition to the $12 per person per day, because service is that good on a Disney Cruise so you may want to plan ahead.
  • Alcoholic or Specialty Drinks. Unlike other cruise lines, Disney cruise does include unlimited sodas. However, alcoholic and specialty non-alcoholic drinks, smoothies and coffees are not included and do cost extra. Please also note that an 18% gratuity is automatically added to any specialty drink purchase.
  • Excursions. This should be a given, but any excursion at the ports are going to be extra. Parasailing, swimming with the dolphins and snorkeling are just some of the types of excursions offered at ports. Excursions can also be booked direct and can save you money.
  • . Disney offers certain beverage tastings on their ships for an extra fee. The fee is reasonable, with some starting around $20.
  • Bingo! One of our favorite activities on the Disney Cruise is Bingo. This does cost extra, but is family friendly and tons of fun.

Small Package $19.00

Disney Cruise Wifi Cost

As of November 2019, wifi on the pay-as-you-go package is 25 cents per megabyte. If you are not certain how much wifi you will use, this could be a good starter. You have the option of purchasing a package at any time.

A small data package of 100MB is available for $19. This would be the optimal choice for someone that still wants to stay connected by checking email every so often.

The medium package provides 300MB for $39. If you plan on posting your vacation photos to Facebook or Instagram, this plan may be for you.

If you need to do more data-intensive work, the 1000MB plan at $89 would be your best choice. Data can be shared, so if there are several of you that want to stay connected, this plan may be sufficient.

Has Disney Gotten Too Expensive

The Best Cruise Deals Online

by David Mumpower·June 23, 2021

Remember the reporter who argued that Snow Whites Enchanted Wish should have created a different scene?

This writer suggested that Snow White never consents to the kiss, something Disney shouldnt support.

Somehow, the author missed the point that Snow White would have spent eternity in an unconscious state without said kiss.

Well, the same person has quoted an Insider poll of questionable validity to argue that Disney has gotten pricey.

So, lets get straight to it. Has Disney gotten too expensive?

Important Things To Know About Cruise Ship Internet And Wifi Speed

One of the most important things you should know about using your smartphone at sea is to turn on airplane mode. If you dont do this, you will rack up insane charges from your cellphone carrier while out to sea. Some carriers do offer specific cruise ship packages, but general international plans do not apply to cruise ships.

You can still use your mobile devices on a cruise ship by purchasing a WiFi plan from the cruise line.

All major cruise lines now offer internet packages, though the types of plans and connection speeds do vary. You should be able to use these packages to access the cruise ship internet for basic tasks like checking email and posting on social media.

However, completing tasks like WiFi calling, FaceTime, and streaming movies and music while out to sea are not a guarantee.

While cruise ship internet is getting faster and has improved leaps and bounds over the past few years, it will probably never be as reliable as your internet back home for a number of reasons. Cruise ship internet depends on satellite connections and geographical location. The ships distance offshore as well as interference from landscapes and weather can all cause variable cruise ship internet speeds.

Disney Wish Concierge Reserved Seating

One thing which a number of cruise lines have for their concierge guests, but Disney doesnt right now, is reserved seating for the shows.

The entertainment on Disney ships is simply the very best at sea. Each ship has Broadway-quality shows which are included in your cruise fare.

We now know that Disney Wish will have Aladdin as one of the shows.

If the Disney Wish has designated seating for Concierge Guests, obviously this would have to be in a certain area of the theatre. In my experience with other cruise lines, it isnt necessarily that the concierge guests get the absolute best view in the house. Often it is on the highest floor of the theatre seating at the side. This can be an awkward area to view the stage from.

The Disney ships dont do this at the moment. It is difficult to see how they would. They could reserve the very front row, but this isnt the best seat in the house. That is probably around 5 rows up in the middle and I am not sure how the Cast Members would organize this!

I think it is likely that the Disney Wish will offer a separate area in the Walt Disney Theater for Concierge Guests. Most cruise lines do these days and it is a very nice perk not to have to get to your seat too early.

A separate viewing area for the Pirates in the Caribbean fireworks would also be a very nice concierge perk.

A Full Overview Of Series One

Its been a few weeks since Disney Infinity was released, and Ive scoured every inch of content there is to offer. Since theres a ton of confusion as to what exactly needs to be purchased to unlock what piece of content, I decided to create a comprehensive overview of pretty much everything youll need.

Im covering Series 1 here , and if theres enough content to warrant it, Ill cover Series 2 and 3 in a similar fashion down the road. Expect impressions of the two Series 1 Play Sets that are sold separately very soon.

How do I get started, and how much does everything cost?

To play Disney Infinity youll need to buy the starter pack for $74.99. It comes with the actual game disc, three toys/in-game characters , the base to hold the toys, and one random power disc . Should you decide you want more, characters are $13 each, new campaigns are $34.99 and come with two characters, and there are a select few triple character packs for $29.99.

The cheapest way to own everything in Series 1 without deals is to buy the Starter Pack , the Sidekicks pack , the Villains Pack , Dash , Violet , Francesco , Mater , the Cars Play Set , and the Lone Ranger Play Set . Thats a grand total of $256.91 at retail for five campaigns that range from 5-10 hours each, and 17 toys to use in Toy box. Yowzers!

On the top part of the base, you can place a Play Set piece or a Power Disc in the hexagonal area on top.

Disney Dream Bahamas Sailing Check In

This is a bit of a cattle call. We arrived at the port early. I read repeatedly they would not let you on before your assigned port arrival time, but did that stop me from dragging my family from a comfortable hotel room to sit in a crowded terminal for hours? Nope. It did not. Other than the woman waving at you with a giant white glove and a model ship, nothing to see here. Hang out elsewhere until it is your time to board.
