Which Plug Sockets Are On The Celebrity Silhouette
In each cabin onboard the Celebrity Silhouette has at least two US plug sockets and one European plug socket. There are no USB sockets in the cabins.
Make sure you pack adapters! This is one of the most common things for first-time cruisers tend to forget. You can find my full list of cruise essentials on the page here Cruise Essentials.
Flights And Overseas Transfers
P& O Cruises offer cruise holidays as well as fly-cruise packages that include flights and overseas transfers.
If your cruise departs from a port outside of the UK, you will usually get flights and overseas transfers included in the cost of your package holiday.
If you prefer, it is possible to arrange your own flights or have a travel agent do this for you rather than travelling on the flight that comes as a package with your cruise you can do so. One thing to bear in mind with this option though, is that if you travel on a P& O Cruises flight and its delayed, the ship will wait for you. If you book your own flight, it wont.
P& O Cruises offer flights from the following UK cities:
There is often a supplement for regional departures outside of London. You may also choose to pay extra to upgrade your flight to premium economy, business class or first class.
Why Do Solo Cruisers Have To Pay A Solo Supplement
When cruising solo cruisers will often have to pay a solo supplement. This means that they pay more to stay in the cabin alone, than they would if they were sharing with another passenger.
This is not only to account for the lost revenue from not having another passenger in the cabin but also from losses in things like drink sales and casino spend.
When booking a solo cabin guests are given one price. This is usually more expensive than an inside cabin shared between two but is often cheaper than a solo cruiser having an inside cabin alone.

Luxury At Sea: Celebrity Apex Cruise Ship Review
Discover the latest ship in Celebrity Cruises luxurious fleet in this Celebrity Apex cruise ship review as we set sail in style on a week-long trip to the Greek Islands.
The smell of the sea, sun on your skin, the taste of new food and the sound of different languages just a few of the things Ive missed from travelling. The last 18 months have been tough on the travel industry, and no sector more so than cruising, which saw ships out of action for over a year. But travel is coming back to life, and cruising with it.
AD: My trip was hosted by Celebrity Cruises, but all views are my own.
My last big pre-pandemic trip was an Alaska cruise with Celebrity Cruises, so if felt strangely apt to be back on board with them for my first overseas trip since. This time Id be travelling on Celebrity Apex, the newest ship in their fleet, sailing through Greece and Croatia. One of the Edge Series ships, shes a radical new departure from Celebritys previous ships. But whats it like on board? This Celebrity Apex review tells you all you need to know.
Celebrity Silhouette Cabins To Avoid
The following cabins to avoid were provided by guests who cruised on the Celebrity Silhouette.
I personally believe that there are no bad cabins on cruise ships. Each cruise ship cabin is built in the same way and its only the location that changes.
That said if you are somebody who is sensitive to noise, the below cabins may be cabins to avoid.

Do Cruise Ships Have Room Service And Is It Free
Whether you need breakfast delivered to your room in the morning to save time before an early shore excursion, you love coffee or tea on your balcony in the afternoons, or you’re craving late-night pizza in bed before you fall asleep, room service is one of those little luxuries that’s easy to overlook on vacation.
Yes, almost all mainstream ships offer it at all hours of the day, but is room service free on cruises? Here’s everything you need to know about which cruise lines have it and how much it’ll cost you.
Unless otherwise noted, all lines below offer room service, including free Continental breakfast, which must be ordered the night prior by marking selections on a menu card and hanging it on the outside of your cabin door. Charges apply for most room service alcohol orders.
Celebrity Silhouette Cabins Honest Reviews And Cabins To Avoid
If you are considering a cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette, you may be wondering which cabin to book and which to avoid. In this post, we will look at all cabin grades available onboard the Celebrity Silhouette, and I will share a review of the balcony cabin that I cruised in.
I recently stayed in a balcony cabin on the Celebrity Silhouette during a northern Europe cruise. Im usually more of an inside cabin cruiser but the price increase wasnt much, so I decided to treat myself.
Celebrity Cruises Loyalty Program
Celebrity has a point-based frequent cruiser program, the Captains Club, that has six tiers, ranging from Preview to Zenith .
The number of Captains Club points you earn for cruises will vary depending on both the length of the sailings and the type of cabin you book.
When staying in the most basic cabins, such as windowless inside cabins, youll earn 2 points for each day you sail. When staying in a top suite, you can earn as many as 18 points per day.
Staying in balcony cabins, which the line calls Veranda cabins, will get you 3 points a day.
Theres also one more way to earn Captains Club points. In 2020, Celebrity launched a new program called Power Up Points that let Captains Club members get bonus points by filling out online surveys, participating on social media or booking specific promotions.
Taking part in such activities will get you Power Up Points, which then can be converted into Captains Club points at a ratio of 10 to 1. That is, for every 10 Power Up Points you get, youll get one additional Captains Club point.
As is typical with cruise line loyalty programs, lower tiers dont bring all that much in terms of truly valuable benefits. Youll get things like access to a loyalty desk or an invite to a private party . But higher levels of the program start to be enticing.
Elite Plus kicks things up by offering additional discounts for onboard services and free cappuccinos, lattes, espresso and tea throughout your sailing.
How Much Does A Celebrity Cruise Cost
Celebrity ships are very reasonably priced. Theyre not the least expensive vessels out there. But theyre not pricey by any means. Its possible to find week-long Celebrity voyage to the Caribbean or even Europe starting under $1,000 per person, not including taxes and fees at least in the offseason.
As of the date of this storys posting, for instance, seven-night sailings from Fort Lauderdale to the Eastern Caribbean in November were starting at just $909 per person, not including taxes and fees of $169.40. That works out to just $154 per night, per person with taxes and fees for a package that includes your lodging, transportation and meals.
For such a rate, youll get a windowless inside cabin on a ship. Cabins with ocean views on the same sailings start at $989 per person, and cabins with balconies on the same sailings will set you back at least $1,249 per person. But thats still not all that much for a cruise.
As you might expect, pricing for ships generally will be lower during offseason periods such as September, October, November and parts of December. You can end up paying considerably more for a cabin during peak summer months or over the winter holidays.

Luxury And Upscale Cruise Lines
It has probably become apparent by now that, in general, the more you pay for your stateroom, the less likely you are to incur a room service fee. That holds true among the luxury lines, such as Crystal, Regent, Seabourn and Silversea, and upscale lines like Viking, Azamara, Oceania and Windstar, none of which charges a separate fee for room service.
Luxury lines typically make almost anything a passenger desires appear magically in the hands of a butler. Want buttered popcorn with your afternoon movie? Not a problem. Cheese plate every afternoon at 3 p.m.? Sure. All luxury lines offer extensive room service menus, as well as the option to order from the main dining room menu during its hours of operation. You may even request course-by-course service.

Who Sails Celebrity Cruises
Celebrity appeals to a somewhat older demographic than some of its best-known rivals in the world of relatively big ships . This is, in part, because its onboard offerings are not aimed at families nearly as much as the onboard offerings of the latter brands.
Unlike Royal Caribbean, Carnival, MSC Cruises and Norwegian, Celebrity doesnt load up the top of its ships with sprawling waterparks, go-kart tracks, laser tag courses and other flashy, family-focused diversions.
Instead of bustling attractions, the top decks of Celebrity ships offer lots of quiet and relaxing pool and lounge areas where you can enjoy the experience of being at sea without a lot of hustle and bustle. Inside, the experience revolves around dining, classic showroom entertainment and a classy bar and music scene just as it has on Celebrity ships for years.
Its the sort of experience that draws a lot of couples in their 40s, 50s and 60s but not necessarily a lot of families. The average age of a Celebrity passenger is a tad north of 50.
Still, while families with younger children usually gravitate to one of the abovementioned lines with more family-friendly activities, that doesnt mean you cant bring your kids on a Celebrity cruise. The line does offer a relatively robust childrens program .
How Do You Order Room Service
You can order from room service by dialing a dedicated room service number which will be posted on a card or the menu in your cabin. On some newer ships, you can also order on your cabin’s interactive TV. For breakfast, most cruise lines use menu cards, which you fill out the night before and put outside your door before going to sleep. In the night they are collected, and your food is delivered in the morning at the time you requested it. This is especially helpful on early port days, where you can eat breakfast in your room before heading out and not worry about waiting in a buffet line.

How Big Are The Inside Cabins On The Celebrity Silhouette
The inside cabins on the Celebrity Silhouette start at a size of 17 meters squared.
This is very big for an inside cabin, as the average inside cabin is 15.7 meters squared. This may not sound like a huge difference but some inside cabins are as small as 11 meters squared.

About Our Personal Suite Experience Onboard:
We stayed in this spacious & luxurious Royal Suite and it is the perfect suite for SO many reasons. Honestly, we really didnt want to leave
The suite itself was a Sanctuary, thats the only word to describe it.
It allowed us so many comforts including the ability take a hot bath for two in the comforts of our luminescent lit jetted bath
which is a pretty big deal to have an oversized tub in your stateroom, isnt it? Normally in a regular balcony or inside room you can barely fit in the shower as the rooms themselves are only 150-200 sq.feet- so a tub is a L-U-X-U-R-Y on ships!
If that wasnt enough, the whirlpool on our private patio made it SUPER special to watch the scenic ocean views & Alaska Glaciers as we gently floated by. Just think about the preparation & effort it takes to get to the pool deck and into a public whirlpool with 1,000+ of your closest friends standing by, then having to walk back to your room in a wet bathing suit- not fun, but

Live Music Bars & Lounges
From Latin and jazz to Ibiza anthems and classic quartets, youre in for a treat if you love live music. All of Celebrity Cruises lounge bars and nightclubs are included on a cruise, and theres live nightly entertainment to enjoy in every corner of the ship.
Soak up the sounds of a live guitarist at the Sunset Bar. Test out your karaoke chops at Quasar nightclub. Enjoy DJs and late-night dancing at Sky Observation Lounge. Lose your inhibitions at the famous Silent Disco and feel real grass between your toes at The Lawn Club, a chic spot for live music with regular concerts, on Celebritys Solstice-series ships.

Enhanced Room Service Breakfast Menu
You will have access to slightly-expanded breakfast options when using room service versus those traveling in cabins without balconies. This includes:
- More cooked-to-order egg options:
Ordering room service between 11pm and 6am still incurs a $4.95 charge, which is only waived for guests staying in suites.
What Is Not Included In Your Cruise Fare
While cruises do provide a great value, not everything will be covered in the cruise fare.
Your cruise ship will transport you to several exciting ports of call. Unfortunately, Celebrity Cruises does not include any shore excursions as part of the base fare.
These tours and additional experiences are available through the cruise line or through third party retailers at additional costs. Shore excursions can range from $25 a person for a group walking tour to several hundreds of dollars for private tours or unique experiences.
While there are several included activities and entertainment, several ships offer additional classes and seminars that cost an up-charge. These include mixology demonstrations, food and wine pairings, hot glass classes, and more. The costs for these optional experiences are $25 or more per person.
All ships also offer a Spa providing a variety of services for additional costs. Guests can book these experiences, such as massages or salon services, pre-cruise or while onboard the ship.
Many ships also have a thermal suite. This area includes a selection of relaxing experiences such as saunas, therapeutic pools, and heated loungers. Cruisers staying in Aqua Class suites will have unlimited access to the ships thermal suite. However, other cruisers will have to purchase a pass.

What You Can Order From Room Service
Breakfast, for sure. Complimentary breakfast can vary between cruise lines. My recent cruise aboard Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas offered only a cold, Continental breakfast.
Some cruise lines list all sorts of sandwiches and burgers while others add a wide range of salads and even hot soup. On a few cruise lines, you can order main dining room menu items. For a fee, on Holland America you can order from the specialty restaurant menus at dinner. Pizza delivery is very popular on Carnival, MSC and Norwegian. Princess Cruises has their fee-based dinner-on-the-balcony offer.
Here is the current list of what youll pay for room service.
Aqua Class & Concierge Class
In addition to the suites, Celebrity also has special amenities for some balcony rooms that offer suite-like amenities without the suite price tag.
Both Concierge Class and Aqua Class are balcony cabins that offer a bit more space than a regular balcony room and include extra benefits.
Here is what Aqua Class includes:
- Priority boarding and early debarkation
- Shoeshine service
- A Personal Spa Concierge to arrange Canyon Ranch SpaClub treatments
- Binoculars included
- 24-hour room service
- Pillow menu
- Blu Restaurant for breakfast and dinner
- Welcome cans of water
- Daily flavored ice tea in carafe
- Location near the spa
- Unlimited access to Persian Gardens and SEA Thermal
- Spa concierge
- VIP tour of SPA on embarkation day
- 10% off spa treatments
- Two yoga mats on Edge-class ships and “revolutionized” ships
- Daily Canapes
Carnival Late Night Room Service Menu Fees
From 10:00pm to 6:00am, theres a per item charge for everything on Carnivals late night menu. The menu features the same selection as during the day plus a Portabella & Veggie Bun, a Grilled Cheese, Bacon & Tomato Sandwich, Roast Turkey Wrap and Omelette and French Fries.
For $2.00, you can order their Dark Chocolate Walnut Brownie or a Doughnut Sandwich. Again, like the à la carte daytime menu specialty items, the cost runs between $2.00 and $6.00 per selection.
Bar items can also be ordered through room service. This includes beer, liquor and wine. If you order wine through room service, you can only order two bottles and it must be consumed in your stateroom.< Of course, late night snacks at the Carnival Deli and pizza stations are open and still free.
