Adaptive Cruise Control Problem Of The 2018 Nissan Rogue

2021 Nissan Rogue – Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) Part of ProPILOT Assist (if so equipped)

When I have cruise control activated, for example, at 65 mph, the engine transmission seems to keep shifting gears up and down and does not maintain a steady pace and slowing down/speeding up and shifting constantly. It is to the point that I will not use the cruise control any longer. It has happened each time I have activated it and I am inquiring if it is a commonly reported issue.

Cruise Control Problem Of The 2013 Nissan Rogue

As I am driving at highway speed with my cruise control on, it will all of the sudden drop acceleration and shuts off the cruise control. I can push the gas all the way to the floor and it won’t do anything. This has happened to me on several occasions. I pull off the road and turn the car off and then back on but it still will barley go or sometimes it will get to a max of about 60 mph but the rpm will rev to 5000. Usually when I get to where I’m going and my car sits all day then it seems fine on the way home.

Cruise Control Problem Of The 2019 Nissan Rogue

I have had an ongoing issue with the aes indicator light for about a month. It started when I had 300 miles on my car. The sensor would randomly come on. The 1st few times, the car would slightly break when the sensor would come on. After awhile the sensor would just come on randomly with no braking. I have taken to dealership 3 different times. They have reprogrammed and replaced the sensor. It happened again. They then wanted me to make sure I put my car in garage for a week to see if it was related to moisture/fog on the windshield before they would replaced the front camera. I humored them and did that. To my dismay, I drove it and it got worse. I was going down a highway and received front radar failure warning and the same indicator came on. Later, same day, I was going down the interstate passing a semi and a vehicle behind me and the same error. This time it kicked the cruise control off and immediately slowed my vehicle down. I was almost hit from behind. This is a huge safety issue and the dealership should have just replaced the darn camera without me having to take this death trap home. They promised me I was at no risk and then this happened!.

Rogue: A Premium Driving Experience

While all of the above features are great, an important factor of any new vehicle will always be driving experience.

In addition to enriched fuel efficiency and performance, the 2021 Nissan Rogue features a new Vehicle Motion Control system. This is technology that does what a human cant, said Chris Reed, senior vice president, Research and Development, Nissan Technical Center North America. The all-new Vehicle Motion Control predicts what the driver is trying to do to do by monitoring steering, acceleration and braking. It can then step in and help to smooth things out.

Vehicle Motion Control works with the Intelligent AWD system and Drive Mode Selector to provide individual wheel control. It can even apply a single brake when necessary to smooth out sharp corners. The Rogue with AWD features 5 different drive modes, including Off-road, Snow, Standard, Eco and Sport. The Vehicle Motion Control system is particularly useful when driving on snowy slopes, deep snow, and off-road conditions. This makes the Rogue better than ever before, especially for adventurous Colorado drivers!

Every 2021 Rogue features a standard 2.5-liter DOHC inline 4-cylinder engine with Nissans Direct Injection Gasoline system. Horsepower comes in at 181 with 181 lb-ft of torque.

2021 Nissan Rogue: High Tech & Family Friendly

When driving between speeds of 30-45 mph the vehicle would shake, and the rpms were shifting erratically between 2000-4000 or more. The issue would correct when more speed was attained, but would return. When the accelerator was depressed, the vehicle would not respond immediately, however the rpms would increase drastically. When on the highway, using cruise control at 65 mph, the rpms would change drastically again. When the vehicle was in a full stop when exiting a highway the vehicle would not move when the accelerator was depressed to reenter traffic, the rpms immediately went above 6000 or more, and the vehicle shut off unexpectedly, with the check engine light illuminated. The vehicle was then placed in park, and ignition turned off, and turned back on again. The vehicle turned on without issue, no check engine light was on. Again, the vehicle did not respond immediately to the accelerator being depressed, but did begin to move. The vehicle is scheduled to be towed to the west herr Nissan in orchard park for repairs.

Car Review: New Nissan Rogue Is A Game

High end tech interior with adjustable digital gauge screen and oversize infotainment display makes the Rogue a world class compact SUV.

  • Special to the Record-Eagle/Len Ingrassia

Squared off exterior with rear spoiler and oversize rear doors makes Nissans top seller a real standout in the crowded compact segment.

  • Special to the Record-Eagle/Len Ingrassia

Stylish 2021 Nissan Rogue has been updated with new platform and chassis paving the way for improved performance.

  • Special to the Record-Eagle/Len Ingrassia

When early SUVs hit the road, they took it on the chin for having a truck like presence with ladder frames and a choppy ride. Many wore rounded fenders and stretch back front ends.

Fast forward to the 2021 Nissan Rogue makeover featuring interior and exterior re-designs, and you guessed it, a new boxier design front and back. Go figure.

The new look has a premium appearance though and it is highlighted with active grille shutters, 3-D tire deflectors, underbody covers and rear spoiler.

With improved driving dynamics, Nissan believes they have another hit since the popular compact model debuted in 2008. We agree but wish more oomph was under the hood to prop up mediocre acceleration.

Pros: Handsome looks, high tech interior, roomy cabin

Cons: Upper trims pricey, pokey, noisy engine

Connectivity is made easy with wireless Apple CarPlay however the same cannot be said for wired Android Auto curious in that more than half of cell phones are the latter.

Cruise Control Problem Of The 2010 Nissan Rogue

Driving on I-76 on cruise control at 75 mph when vehicle starts to run rpms in excess of 4k while losing acceleration. Pull over and turn off vehicle. Check under the hood, slight burning smell. Wait about twenty minutes, turn vehicle on, won’t accelerate at all. Wait some more, drives for a little while, then high acceleration with loss of speed again, this time never going over 60 mph. I’m lucky I was not rear ended on the interstate and killed with my two year old son.

What Is Nissan Intelligent Cruise Control

Nissan Intelligent Cruise Control is a smart driver’s aid designed to respond to fluctuating traffic conditions. Unlike traditional cruise control systems Nissan’s Intelligent Cruise Control will automatically slow your vehicle down when traffic appears. As the vehicle ahead slows down, this system lowers your vehicle speed to maintain a safe following distance. When the slower traffic clears, Intelligent Cruise Control automatically returns to your set cruising speed, so you can continue ahead with ease.

Setting up and using the cruise control systems on most other cars and SUVs can be rather stressful, constantly requiring the user to re-activate the system anytime a slowdown occurs. Perhaps worst of all, these simple systems can’t recognize other vehicles or potential road hazards. Nissan Intelligent Cruise Control on the other hand takes the stress out of cruise control by automatically adjusting acceleration and braking for you. With settings from 20 MPH to 90 MPH, you can use ACC just about anywhere, too.

Nissan Rogue Vs The Competition

The new Nissan Rogue is now much more competitive, particularly in terms of feature content. The optional turbo engines in the and the offer better performance, however. And Nissan doesn’t offer a hybrid, while several competitors do, which may appeal to buyers seeking the best possible fuel economy. The and , both of which can tow up to 3,500 pounds, are better suited to towing a modest-sized trailer.

Cruise Control Problem Of The 2014 Nissan Rogue

When driving my Rogue for any period of time over 40 minutes on the expressway the vehicles starts to decelerate even when the gas pedal to pushed all the way down to the floor. This seems to be worse in the summer months when it is warmer outside. The car needs to be shut off for a period of time before it will begin to accelerate and maintain the speed on the expressway. I have even turned on the cruise control and the vehicle will even decelerate when the speed is set on cruise control. This is very frustrating especially since I live in FL and to have to pull over every 40 minutes when driving longer distances and sit in your hot car on the side of the road. This started back in 2015 and happens almost every time I have to drive over 40 minutes on the expressway.

How To Set Cruise Control On 2021 Nissan Rogue

Pro-Pilot Assist is a hands-on driver-assist system that combines Nissans Intelligent Cruise Control and Steering Assist technologies. It also includes a stop-and-hold function that can bring the vehicle to a complete stop, hold it in place, and bring you back up to speed when traffic starts moving again. The conventional cruise control that comes standard on your Nissan Rogue Sport can also be upgraded to Pro-Pilot Assist, which is a hands-on driver assist system.

With cruise control, you can select a preferred speed that is greater than 25 miles per hour, and the vehicle will stay at that pace unless you choose to decelerate, speed up, or stop.

  • To activate the cruise control, you need to press the on/off switch that is located on the right side of the steering wheel. The indicator light for the cruise control function will light up in the instrument cluster.
  • You should pick up the pace till you achieve the target speed. The next step is to depress and then release the SET button that is located on the right side of the steering wheel.
  • Your chosen speed will now be used by the car as it travels forward.
  • In the instrument cluster, the speed that is currently selected may be seen to the right of the indicator light for the cruise control function. If you go faster than the specified speed, the set speed will flash on the screen until you either disable the cruise control or return to the pace you had previously set it to.

Cruise control systems have changed as cars have become more modern. Newer cars use a fully electronic setup to maintain speed and may be able to maintain speed and distance behind the car in front of you. These systems are controlled through the vehicles computer or ECU . Older cars may use what is called electromechanical cruise control. In this setup, a vacuum actuator is physically connected to the throttle by a cable or chain. The cable adjusts to increase or decrease throttle position based upon the actions of the actuator. A mechanic will let you know what kind of setup you have on your vehicle.

I was on the highway driving to sheboygan , WI from chicago, IL. I had the cruise control on. I was going 80 in the fast lane. My car out of nowhere slowed down on its own abruptly almost causing a 4 car collision. I quickly turned on to the shoulder and once my car came to a stop the car died. I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. I had no sensors or warning lights to give me some type of clue as to what happened. About 3 months ago, going over railroad tracks my car abruptly slammed on the brakes on its own and came to a stop on the tracks. I was unable to accelerate. I had to turn the car off n then back on to be able to drive off the tracks.

What Is Nissan’s Intelligent Cruise Control

The “Intelligent Cruise Control” system by Nissan includes smart cruise control and a special steering-assist feature that most other vehicles do not have. Intelligent Cruise Control’s main function is to keep your Nissan a safe following distance from the car ahead of you. The intuitive system will also automatically apply and adjust the brakes as needed to ensure you don’t get any closer to the vehicle ahead than your intended distance. Once the driver sets the preferred speed limit for the Nissan, the car does the rest of the work to remain a specified length from the vehicle in front to avoid a collision.

Drivers should note that there may be some minor differences in how the system functions based on the particular Nissan model or trim level. Intelligent Cruise Control regulates the car’s speed based on the road conditions ahead on some Nissan vehicles. If you are approaching a sharp turn or curve in the road, the system relays that information to Nissan’s navigation system. Intelligent Cruise Control then works with the navigation system to temporarily slow your car down through the curve. When the road straightens out again, the vehicle will resume the speed that you previously specified.
