MSC Meraviglia
MSC Cruises offers discounted rates for military personnel, and no penalties for cruise cancellations due to transfers. Qualified military personnel are active and retired members of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Army reservists. The proposal also includes members of the Department of National Defence and Canadian military personnel.
The discount is 5% for inside and outside cabins and 10% for cabins with balcony and more. It applies to the traveling soldier, immediate family members and several quarters. Ask about the military discount and show a valid military ID when you make your reservation.
If you have to cancel your cruise due to relocation, MSC Cruises also offers a 100% voucher for future cruises, valid for two years from the date of cancellation. You must cancel your trip at least 15 days before departure and provide a note from your commander.
Princessmilitary Cruise Assistance Program

Princess does not offer discounts on military cruise fares, but it does offer a free onboard credit. The subsidy is $50 for cruises of 6 days or less, $100 for cruises of 7 to 13 days and $250 for cruises longer than 14 days. Onboard credits can be used for various onboard purchases and are available for each cruise. A maximum of two credits are allowed per stand.
Among them are qualified military personnel:
- Personnel on active duty in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, National Guard, or Army Reserve.
- Canadian National Defence personnel on active duty
- Retired members of the armed forces listed above who have retired after 20 or more years of service for medical reasons or because of severe disability
- Veterans of the U.S. and Canadian Armed Forces who have spent 6 or moremonths in an active combat zone or who have received an honorable discharge after 2 years or more.
To be eligible for this program, active U.S. military personnel must present proof of military service, which is available online. Canadians must show the silver CF1FC card. Retirees must submit one of the following forms: DD214, WD AGO, NAVPERS, NDI 75, CF 75, or certificate of release. Veterans must present a DD214 with photo or a Veterans Affairs Canada medical card. Military personnel must provide a Princess circle number and all documents must be submitted to the cruise line 14 days prior to departure.
