Carnival Valors New Look
The Carnival cruise ship has been waiting to restart cruises since first arriving back in the U.S. on September 1. The ship arrived in Miami, Florida, after completing a drydock upgrade that took place in Marseille, France, and was completed toward the end of July 2021.
During the dry dock, Carnival Valor received the new red, white a blue livery, a new hull artwork thats rolling out across the fleet. So far, eight Carnival ships have received the new livery during dry dock along with the new . Carnival Sunshine will become the ninth.

They travel down the Mississippi River to the Gulf. If you look at a map of Louisiana, the extreme southeastern part looks like a peninsula. The Mississippi River runs through that peninsula. For the most part, this area is home to little towns that are most accurately described as fishing villages. In the 1990s and earlier, these were vibrant small towns. But the region has been ravaged by hurricanes, and younger people have left for more opportunities near the city. So, theres really not much to see.
As you leave the terminal in New Orleans, position yourselves on the port side of the ship where you will have great views of the city skyline and of St. Louis Cathedral. You will also pass the Domino sugar refinery and the site of the Battle of New Orleans In December sunset is about 5p.m,. so for the rest of the trip down river you will mostly be seeing the lights of oil rigs and of other boat traffic.

The cruise industry made its return to New Orleans Sunday, as Carnival Glory set sail for a seven-day trip to the Bahamas. It marks the first sailing from the city since cruise operations were paused 18 months ago.
Carnival’s team celebrated the occasion by welcoming its passengers with a “Back to Fun” event. Martin Guidry and Elizabeth LeGrange, of Lafayette, were among the first set of guests onboard the ship. The couple was honored with cutting the ribbon during the fanfare.
All guests of Carnival Cruise Line must follow safety protocols recommended by the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention, including proof of vaccination for COVID-19, as well as a negative COVID-19 test taken within two days prior to the sailing date.
Carnival leaders praised the return to Port of New Orleans and mentioned that it will provide support to New Orleans’ economy.
Carnival Glory’s voyage from the Erato Street Cruise Terminal includes visits to Bimini, Freeport and Nassau.

Carnival Docks Ship In New Orleans As Emergency Housing For Ida Response Crews
Carnival Cruise Line announced Tuesday that one of its ships would dock in New Orleans to house crews working on Hurricane Ida response.
In an agreement with the city and the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Carnival Glory will be docked at the Port of New of Orleans before it resumes scheduled cruises Sept. 19.
Carnival said that the Glory will serve as emergency housing for frontline workers directly involved in the citys infrastructure recovery and healthcare needs and that it can house up to 2,600 hospital workers, emergency responders and city, utility and emergency workers.
While we want to provide the city of New Orleans with an economic boost by restarting guest operations, we want to first provide this critical housing support to address emergency needs and to get power restored to the region, Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line, said in a news release.

Carnival Valor Returns To Service From New Orleans
Carnival Valor becomes the 15th ship in the fleet to be sailing since suspensions first started in March 2020. The vessel also becomes the second to resume from New Orleans. Guests are being welcomed back onboard today by the ships cruise director Marty Pitts, along with many happy crew members, who are bringing back the fun.
The ship will depart later this afternoon from Port Nola on a five-day Western Caribbean itinerary which includes calls at Cozumel and Progreso, both located in Mexico. The Conquest-class vessel will then return to New Orleans on November 6, 2021.
Carnival Valor will continue to sail four- and five-day voyages from Louisiana for the remainder of 2021 and through 2022. There will also be a 6-day New Years cruise departing on December 31, 2021, with visits to Mexico.

There will now be two Carnival cruise ships sailing from Port Nola asCarnival Glory was the first to resume operations from the port on September 19, 2021.
