Can I Cancel My Cruise

Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship Now In Jamaica | News | CVMTV

The cruise line said guests with COVID-19 symptoms or exposure may cancel their bookings within 14 days of sailing and get a full refund or apply their fares toward future sailings without Disney’s usual cancellation fees. Guests without COVID-19 concerns will have a “relaxed cancellation fee schedule” this year.

Guests who book sailings by July 31 for travel this year can change their sail date up to 15 days before their scheduled departure.

Disney Cruise Ship Itinerary

This really is going to be a big deciding factor when you look at which Disney cruise ship is the best for your vacation.

All of the Disney cruise ships sail very distinct itineraries from different home cruise ports.

If you want to sail the Caribbean on a Disney cruise ship you will find that the most convenient itineraries are on the Disney Fantasy. She sails mostly 7 night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries all out of Port Canaveral Florida.

However, if you want a 3 or 4 night sailing on a Disney cruise then the Disney Dream is going to be your best choice. The Disney Dream sails mostly 3 and 4-night itineraries to The Bahamas from Port Canaveral Florida.

The Disney Dream can be an excellent first Disney cruise. The prices are obviously going to be lower than a full 7 night on the Disney Fantasy.

The Disney Dream also has a big advantage that all sailings will make a port stop a Disneys private island Castaway Cay. For many Disney cruisers, the day at Castaway Cay is the highlight of their vacation. Here you can get a complete guide to Disneys Castaway Cay.

Both the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic have more varied itineraries than the larger Disney ships. This might be the decider for you when you are thinking about which is the best Disney cruise ship. Itinerary may be the most important thing.

One of the most spectacular of the Disney Wonder itineraries are the cruises to Alaska. Here you can browse the Disney Cruises to Alaska.

Disney Cruise Line To Resume Passenger Cruises Aug 9

disney: Disney Wonder Cruise Ship

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. â Disney Cruise Line’s first sailing with passengers since the pandemic shut down the cruise industry will be Aug. 9, with a number of health and safety measures in place, the company said Friday.

What You Need To Know

  • Disney Dream is scheduled to embark on Disney Cruise Line’s first passenger cruise since the industry shut down
  • Passengers are “strongly encouraged” to be fully vaccinated before they go, Disney says on its parks blog
  • They won’t be required to be vaccinated, but if they provide proof, they won’t need to be tested for COVID-19, Disney says
  • Passenger sailings for Disney Cruise Line’s other ships won’t resume before Aug. 28, the company says

Disney Dream is scheduled to depart from Port Canaveral on a trip to Disney’s private Bahamas island, Castaway Cay, Disney said. Three- and four- night cruises will be available.

But “some things will look a bit different for now,” says Disney Signature Experiences President Thomas Mazloum in a YouTube video posted to the Disney Parks blog.

Passengers are “strongly encouraged” to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before they go on a Disney cruise, though vaccinations won’t be required on sailings departing from Florida, according to the health and wellness video.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a person as “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 when they’re two weeks past their second dose of a two-dose vaccine or two weeks past a single-dose vaccine.

Criteria For Ship Color Status For Ships In Us Waters

The following table lists cruise ships operating or planning to operate in U.S. waters.

Ship color status is determined using surveillance data from the previous 7 daysregardless of voyage dates and CDC investigation findings.

The following persons are not included when determining a ships color status:

  • Passengers who test positive for COVID-19 on the day of embarkation who do not board the ship, or
  • Newly embarking crew members who test positive during their embarkation quarantine period.

Disney Cruise Line Mandates Vaccination On Bahamas Ship

For sailings beginning Sept. 3, travelers under the age of 12 will have to provide a negative COVID-19 test, the cruise operator said in a blog https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/advisory. It also plans to cancel the Sept. 4 “Disney Fantasy” sailing.

Disney’s cruise line had earlier said it did not insist on vaccinations, but the change in stance comes after the U.S. health regulator asked people at a high risk of severe COVID-19 illness to avoid cruises irrespective of vaccination status.

The Bahamas, a major hub for cruises, has also said it would not allow those ships to dock in the country unless all passengers 12 and older provide proof of vaccination.

Carnival Corp’s namesake cruise line said on Sunday it requires vaccination proof for all passengers aged 12 and above.

Disney Cruises Requiring Covid Shots Of Passengers

Disney Cruise Line is the latest to shift policy to now require passengers 12 and older to be vaccinated against covid-19 for sailings from Florida, even though a law pushed by Gov. Ron DeSantis threatens to fine cruise lines for demanding proof of vaccination.

The move comes nearly a week after the Bahamas updated an emergency covid-19 declaration that prohibits cruise ships from entering a Bahamas port, including the many cruise lines’ private islands, unless eligible passengers are fully vaccinated. This does not apply to passengers 11 and under who don’t have vaccine options or to passengers with proof of medical reasons for why they cannot take vaccines.

The Bahamas order goes into effect Sept. 3 and lasts through October for now. On Tuesday, Disney posted its amended policy to follow the same approach as Royal Caribbean, Carnival, MSC Cruises and Celebrity, all of which sail from Florida and had allowed some unvaccinated passengers.

Cruise lines have opted to require vaccines from its eligible passengers from every U.S. state except Florida because of the law that went into effect July 1, which threatens to fine companies $5,000 per instance for any time a business demands proof of vaccination.

Norwegian Cruise Line filed suit over the law, and a federal judge granted a temporary injunction to prevent the state from enforcing it. That injunction applies only to Norwegian and its sister brands Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas.

The ongoing saga between the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Florida has still not been resolved. In fact, just recently, the CDC successfully got a hold on Florida being allowed to overrule its Conditional Sailing Order. Eligibility For Ship Color Status

The color-coding system is only applicable to cruise ships operating or planning to operate in U.S. waters. Status of ships is dependent upon daily submission of the Enhanced Data Collection during COVID-19 Pandemic form.

CDC has confirmed that the ships listed in the table below are operating under health and safety protocols that align with CDCs standards for protecting passengers, crew, port personnel, and communities by mitigating the public health risks posed by COVID-19. Gray-designated ships may have their own COVID-19 health and safety protocols, which CDC has not reviewed or confirmed.

When a cruise ship operating under the CSO notifies CDC of suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 on board, CDC determines whether an investigation is needed, based on a predetermined investigation threshold. This investigation threshold gives CDC and the cruise industry the ability to work closely together to protect the health and safety of those on board and in communities.

New Health And Safety Measures

  • Vaccinations are “strongly encouraged” but will not be required on Disney Dream sailings from Florida. Guests who show proof of vaccination can skip required coronavirus testing.
  • Everyone who does not show proof of vaccination must take a coronavirus test before leaving home and at port and have negative results from both tests to board the ship.
  • Face masks will be required in “most indoor public areas” for all guests age 2 and up.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the ship and the cruise line’s private island.
  • Ship capacity will be reduced to allow for more social distancing.

The cruise line said there will be twice-daily stateroom cleanings, new air purification systems and extra attention paid to high-touch surfaces.

“While some things may look a bit different for now, you can rest assured that the dazzling entertainment, impeccable service and attention to detail that have long defined Disney vacations remain the same,” Mazloum said.

Disneys Return To Sailing

The cruise line has chosen to make a gradual return to operations for its four ships, which started with Disney Magic sailing in the United Kingdom. In the United States, Disney Dream sailed first, from Port Canaveral, on August 9.

Disney Fantasy resumed operations on September 11, also from Port Canaveral. All three ships are now sailing on a variety of Caribbean and Bahamas cruises.

Disney Wonder set sail earlier this month from San Diego, California, on October 1. The ship is sailing cruises along the Mexican Riviera. From November 19, she will be repositioning to Galveston, Texas, for a series of Western Caribbean cruises sailing to Cozumel and Costa Maya.

Disney has implemented strict health and safety guidelines according to the Centers for Disease Control requirements under the Conditional Sailing Order. For all cruises, guests aged 12 years and older must be fully vaccinated and be prepared to take a COVID-19 test upon embarkation.

Younger guests are not required to be vaccinated but do have to show a pre-trip negative result of a NAAT test, rapid PCR test, or lab-based PCR test for COVID-19.

The exception to this guideline is the repositioning cruise of Disney Wonder from Los Angeles to Galveston. For this cruise, Disney Cruise Line will accept only fully vaccinated individuals onboard.
