Statistics showed that just in March 2017, the number of visiting cruiseship tourists was 469,847. This was the Ports 1-month record and a 19% increase over March 2016. Ports FY2017 total revenues were USD 47,4 million .
For FY2018, the seaport reported a record year with USD 103,75 million in total revenues . Cargo and cruise shipping volumes were also an all-time high. The number of handled cruise ship passengers increased by 7,7% to 4,568431 million. Ports handled cargo tonnage increased by 6,9% to 6,404944 million tons. Sailing Out Of The Port Canaveral On Disney Cruise Line
Admittedly, Ive only sailed Disney Cruise Line from Port Canaveral, and Ive always found the process to be easy and straightforward. If you are taking Disney transportation from the airport, youll leave your luggage before boarding the motorcoach at the airport.
Once you arrive at the port, youll be directed through security, then will travel upstairs to the check-in area. The Disney terminal is so well-appointed, and it really gets you in the spirit of traveling with Disney.
There are three separate check-in areas. One is for first-time cruisers, one is for Castaway Club silver and gold members, and one is for concierge guests and Platinum Castaway Club members.
When you check-in, youll make sure you have a credit card on file, sign any relevant paperwork, and have your photo taken. Youll be given a Key to the World card, as well as a lanyard if you are a Castaway Club member.
A boarding number will be given to you at that time. You can sit in the waiting area and wait for the number to be called. While you wait, you can walk outside to get a great photo of the ship, and can even wait in line to take a photo with Minnie or Mickey.

Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal A
Port Canaveral is divided into two sections by the shipping channel. The north of the channel is home to Cruise Terminals 5, 6, 8, and 10. These terminals are easily accessed after you turn off of 528 to Cruise Terminal or Port Canaveral North Cargo Piers.
Carnival Cruise Line

Royal Caribbean Finalized A Port Agreement With Port Canaveral So It Can Start Test Cruises
One of the major requirements before test cruises can begin looks to be a step closer for Royal Caribbean.
One of the mandates included in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention plan for cruise ships to be able to restart sailings from the United States is for each line to secure agreements with port and health authorities in the U.S. cities they plan to visit.
This requirement is part of the CDCs Framework for Conditional Sailing Order , and is intended to ensure health and safety protections for crew and passengers and port personnel prior to resuming passenger operations in a way that mitigates the risk of spreading Covid-19.
Royal Caribbean Group Vice President of Worldwide Operations, Captain Hernan Zini, spoke on Wednesday about Royal Caribbean Groups work to get its ships closer to be able to conduct test and revenue cruises.
Captain Zini said that port agreement was submitted to the Florida Department of Health.
Once that once Florida signs off on the plan, it can be submitted to the CDC. And once the CDC accepts the agreement, the Royal Caribbean group can make an application to the CDC to begin those test cruises.
The agreement will also include information social distancing guidelines and plans for using commercial operators for any required evacuations at sea.
Royal Caribbean said they are hoping to vaccinate about 1,500 crew members.

Cruises Prep To Sail Once Again From Port Canaveral

The cruising industry is getting ready for a return as traffic starts picking up at Port Canaveral in Florida which is the home to Disney Cruise Line!
According to a piece on Fox35, Carnivals Mardi Gras has just returned from its first sailing and will set sail again this afternoon. In addition the Carnival Magic will have its first revenue cruise today at 4pm.

As we previously reported here at MickeyBlog, Disney Cruise line will have its first sailing starting at 7pm tomorrow for a four-night Bahamas sailing. At the end of last month, the Dream embarked on a successful test cruise with cast member serving as the passengers. This was done to make sure that the proper COVID-19 health and safety protocols were in place.
Were pretty excited to see the port getting back to normal. As Fox35 reminds us, this is the first time in 17 months that cruise lines are taking to the seas.

Traveling To And From Port Canaveral

Msc Cruises Will Sail From Port Canaveral In 2021
MSC Cruises announced this morning that they now plan on resuming cruises starting in August and MSC Divina will sail from Port Canaveral in 2021.
MSC Cruises has extended their pause in operations through the end of July 2020 and has reconfirmed their March-November 2021 program.
MSC Cruises USA guests impacted by the July 11-July 31, 2020 canceled cruises will automatically receive a 125% Future Cruise Credit of the original cruise fare paid by June 19 to be used on a sailing on or before December 31, 2021.
In addition, for all guests currently booked with MSC Cruises USA between August 1 through October 31, 2020, their bookings will now be eligible for Cruise Assurance, due to a new extension of the program, which will allow them to cancel their sailing up to 48 hours prior to departure and reschedule their cruise with a 100% Future Cruise Credit good for any ship and any itinerary on or before December 31, 2021.
Today, the Swiss-based cruise line also reconfirmed its March November 2021 program, which will include two new cruise ships currently under construction and a series of new or enriched itineraries and homeports, including a new home for MSC Divina in Central Florida.
MSC Cruises Spring-Summer-Fall 2021 program, which features all 17 vessels currently part of the cruise lines fleet as well as the two new ships currently still under construction, MSC Virtuosa and MSC Seashore, will bring the cruise lines fleet to 19 cruise ships.

Cape Canaveral Operated In The Red For 16 Months Before The Cruise Resumed
Mika Lloyd, Commissioner of the Cape Canaveral Port Authority, said AC / DCs Back in Black should have been played as walk-up music when Chief Financial Officer Michael Poole made a budget announcement. ..
The port operated in the red for 16 consecutive months until the cruise resumed on July 31st. In August, the port was once again able to finance its operating expenses and debt payments, with a total of 24 Carnival, Disney and Royal Caribbean Cruises departing from the port by the end of August.
Its been 17 months and were back, said John Murray, Chief Executive Officer of Cape Canaveral.

According to port officials, the 2021-22 budget year, which began on Friday, looks solid, with operating revenues from cruise lines and cruise-related parking lots at $ 84.32 million. In addition, the freight business is expected to generate $ 15.21 million in revenue.
The port has also received a total of $ 72.21 million from the Federal United States Rescue Planning Act to cover the losses resulting from the closure of the cruise industry dating back to March 2020 by COVID-19. Of that total, $ 49.88 million was invested in the ports 2021-22 budget. This increased the ports projected gross profit from 2021 to 22 to $ 68.46 million.
The rest of ARPAs funding went into the budget for the just-finished 2020-21 budget year.
