Parking For Your Cruise

If youre driving into Fort Lauderdale to cruise, then youre going to need a spot to park your car. Fortunately theres an entire industry surrounding cruise parking in Fort Lauderdale. We have all your options on our Port Everglades cruise parking page here. Below, we have general information regarding your parking options.

Parking at the PortBy far the easiest and most convenient spot to park is at the port. Port Everglades has multiple parking facilities near the cruise terminals, giving you the ability to park right at your cruise ship. That means you can drive and arrive when you want, and then head home the second you get off the ship. Given the number of parking spots at the port, you dont have to reserve a spot ahead of time. Simply show up on cruise day and park.

Parking at the port runs $15 per day for most vehicles. Have an oversized vehicle that doesnt fit in a normal parking space? In that case, youll pay $19 per day. Frankly, the official parking at Port Everglades is relatively cheap compared to other ports, though the costs can still add up.

You can see a complete list of parking lots near the cruise port here.

Sometimes this parking is included with a one nights stay, other times you will need to book a parking package. Still other hotels charge a few bucks a day to park. For full details and a list of hotels, see our Fort Lauderdale hotels with cruise parking page.

Getting From The Miami Airport To Port Everglades

One of the benefits of sailing from South Florida is that you have two major airports to fly into for your cruise Fort Lauderdale and Miami. This way, if Miami has a better schedule or is cheaper, you can fly there and then head to Port Everglades.

Fortunately, there are transportation options to get you from Miami to Fort Lauderdale to catch the ship. Expect the ride to take at least 45 minutes to an hour.

Uber/Lyft You can use Uber or Lyft to get from Miami to Port Everglades easily. Rates are significantly cheaper than using a taxi. For example, Lyft estimates a ride from the Miami airport to Port Everglades would be $50-60 one-way for up to four people.

Thats about $20-30 less than the rate of a taxi cab, making rideshare services like Uber and Lyft our preferred method of reaching the port.

Whats also a plus is that you can catch an Uber or Lyft from the airport and head anywhere you want . You dont have to just head right to the port.

TaxisFor our purposes, were assuming that you are flying into Miami for a Port Everglades cruise. Miami-based cabs are an estimated $75 from the Miami airport to Port Everglades. That price could vary based on traffic.

That seems expensive, but remember that is the fee for the entire car. Most shuttles, on the other hand, charge per person, which makes them more expensive for an entire group.

Cruise Line TransfersCruise lines offer transfer service from the Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports to the cruise terminals.
