The Cape Liberty cruise terminal is located in the northeastern part of NJ adjacent to the New York Bay in the city of Bayonne. It is 7 miles from Manhattan and 3 miles from Newark. The port is easily accessible from the New Jersey Turnpike . Easy access to drop off and pick up guests. There is a large on-site parking facility next to the cruise terminal.

Royal Caribbean Plans To Resume Sailings From Bayonne New Jersey
Bayonne Mayor has confirmed that Royal Caribbean will resume cruises from Cape Liberty in August.
Cruises will return to the North East of the United States in August of this year. Mayor Jimmy Davis announced the return of Royal Caribbean to Port Liberty in Bayonne, New Jersey.
The announcement comes after intensive talks between the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, local and state health officials, and the Office of Emergency Management, according to the Bayonne city Mayor.

Bermuda Cruises Travel Tips
- The main form of transportation in Bermuda is walking or by motorbike. It’s impossible to rent a car when you visit the island because the government banned car rentals.
- The island of Bermuda is most well-known for its beaches, so make time to visit at least one beach during your trip. You truly won’t regret it because each beach is like paradise on earth. Keep in mind that some beaches are hidden-gems while others are a lot more popular!
- Bermuda can be quite expensive, and you can quickly rack up a costly bill while you’re out at a restaurant. Make sure you pay close attention to the cost of things when you’re out and about!
- Don’t drink the tap water in Bermuda because the water isn’t super clean or safe. Instead, be sure to purchase water bottles while you’re out to have something to drink during your trip.
- If you go swimming, make sure to be on the lookout for jellyfish that can sting and other animals that might cause you harm in the water. It’s not likely that you’ll get stung, but it’s good to keep your eyes open just in case.
- Make sure you pack your swimsuit, sunscreen, and sunglasses. Bermuda sees a lot of sun and you’ll want to protect yourself when you visit the beaches.

When The Saints Come Marching
Head to St. George’s, where you can spend the afternoon exploring St. Peter’s Church, the oldest Anglican church in the Western hemisphere. Or set your course just outside the city center and see the Unfinished Church, where the walls and columns of a partly completed chapel stand eerily atop a lush green hill.
Flying To New York/new Jersey
There are three major airports serving the New York/New Jersey area: Newark , La Guardia , and John F. Kennedy International Airports.
The easiest option is Newark, because it is located just 10 miles to the west of the port. Without traffic, it is a short 20 minute car ride to the cruise port.
The other New York airports will require a longer commute to the port, as well as additional tolls to cross bridges over to New Jersey. Depending on traffic conditions, the trip can take an hour or longer.
The simplest way to get to the port is by car service. Lyft, Uber, or taxis are all available to take you from any of the airports to the cruise terminal.
Public transportation will only get you part of the way there, and the final segment of the trip will rely on private car. For that reason, I recommend simply booking a ride sharing service or taxi, and going directly to the port.

Bermuda Bahamas And The Caribbean
Royal Caribbean International has not made any official announcements yet however, the cruise line has cruises scheduled for July from Port Liberty. These cruises are a 5-night Bermuda cruise first sailing on July 3 onboardFreedom of the Seas and a 7-night Caribbean and Bahamas voyage first sailing on July 2 onboard Oasis of the Seas.
Whether these voyages will be canceled or Royal Caribbean is confident these voyages can go ahead remains unclear at this moment.
Mayor Jimmy Davis said the following to tapinto.net:
Right now, were hearing the first ship will leave in August at half capacity. This means that if the ship can accommodate 6,000, then 3,000 will be allowed on board.
For the month of August, the month in which cruises will resume according to the Bayonne city mayor, Royal Caribbean International has scheduled the following cruises out of Port Liberty:
- Cruise: 5-night Bermuda Cruise
- Ship: Oasis of the Seas

New Jersey Not New York
Traditionally, cruise lines would sail from Manhattan, but costs and port restrictions made that option unappealing to Royal Caribbean.
Instead, Royal Caribbean has its own cruise terminal in Bayonne, New Jersey at Cape Liberty.
Located just minutes from Newark International Airport, Cape Liberty is an easy to get to cruise port without the need to deal with New York City traffic or bridges.
At 125,000 square feet, the cruise terminal can handle even the largest Royal Caribbean cruise ships, including the Oasis Class ships.
The terminal is adjacent to a September 11th memorial, known as the Tear Drop Memorial. Passengers can walk to the memorial from outside the cruise terminal. It is also a great spot to get a photo of your ship.
Despite not departing from New York City, passengers still enjoy a great view of New York harbor, including views of the New York City skyline, the Statute of Liberty, Ellis Island, and an opportunity to sail under the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
