The Royal Caribbean-owned ship departed from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale on a seven-day voyage to the Caribbean.
It will visit Labadee, San Juan, Nassau, and Perfect Day at CocoCay an exclusive destination for Royal Caribbean guests.
In a , Royal Caribbean marked the start of the maiden voyage by posting eye-catching pictures of the humongous ship.

“The cruise line invites vacationers of all ages on board the world’s largest cruise ship to experience the ultimate combination of all-new adventures and Royal Caribbean favorites designed to inspire wonder and awe,” Royal Caribbean said in a statement.

The cruise ship, which is 1,188 feet long, 215 feet wide, and weighs 236,857 tons, can house nearly 6,988 passengers.
Guests will be far from bored while traveling on the vessel, which is packed with tons of amenities, including an 82-foot zip line, a mini-golf course, and a 10-story slide.
Live entertainment includes ice skating and aqua theater shows.
The Wonder of Seas has more than 20 restaurants, bars, and lounges. Cuisines onboard range from Italian to Japanese.

At 236,857 gross tons, Wonder of the Seas is the fifth Oasis Class cruise ship and takes the title from Symphony of the Seas as the biggest in the world.
Wonder of the Seas is 1,188 feet in length and has a maximum passenger capacity of 6,988 passengers, in addition to 2,300 crew.
In fact, Wonder has 100 cabins more than Symphony of the Seas.
Not only is Wonder of the Seas bigger than her sister Oasis Class ships, she has an extra neighborhood onboard dedicated just to suite guests.
The eighth neighborhood offers Royal Suite Class guests private spaces, such as an exclusive deck with its own pool, bar and plenty of sun loungers, as well as nooks for lounging.

Cruise lines like Carnival Corporation reinstated guidelines on their ships such as mandatory masking and proof of vaccination, but the highly transmissible Omicron variant bypassed these precautions.

As the newly crowned worlds largest cruise ship, Wonder of the Seas, prepares to take its first voyage on Friday afternoon, the league table of mega-ships has once again shifted.
But you may be surprised to know that the whole top five – in terms of size and weight – is now dominated by the same operator, Royal Caribbean.
The 18-deck Wonder of the Seas departs Floridas Fort Lauderdale this afternoon for its inaugural sailing, travelling to Labadee, Haiti, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Nassau, Bahamas and Perfect Day at CocoCay – a private island in the Bahamas – over a seven-day itinerary.
It is followed in the size stakes by four of its RC siblings – and will be overtaken in 2024 by another Oasis-class ship from the brand, which is yet to be named.

The past decade has seen a massive growth in every sense in cruise ships. Vessels are getting bigger and bigger with mega-ships accommodating nearly 7,000 passengers and 2,300 crew members. As well as carrying more guests, the other reason is that cruise lines provide amazing attractions such as theme parks, race tracks, waterslides and even a rollercoaster, which take up a lot more space than the deck quoits of old. Passengers can sip cocktails made by robots in the Bionic Bar which is situated on the Royal Promenade.
If that doesnt appeal, theres the Rising Tide Bar, which has a moving platform where guestss seats move up and down between the Promenade on Deck Five to Central Park on Deck Eight and providing great views.
Theres also lots of activities and entertainment on board including four debuting productions, an AquaTheatre where high-divers plunge from 60ft boards into a swimming pool and nightly icetravanganzas in the indoor ice rink.

The trend is clear. The largest cruise ships in the world today measure roughly 8x the size of vessels 40 years ago! Cruise lines proudly boast their biggest and newest ships. Each is guaranteed headlines when breaking the previous record for “biggest ship.”

It’s interesting to look at the average ship length versus tonnage. While new vessels today are nearly 5x the gross tonnage as decades ago, ship length has increased roughly 2x. What does that mean? Who Are The Private Companies To Develop Future Space Stations
NASA has already chosen three private US-based companies to develop future space platforms.
One of them will be run by Blue Origin. The company disclosed plans last October for its Orbital Reef station. The developers say Orbital Reef will carry ten people in an area of about 830 cubic meters -almost the same size as the ISS. The station will assist science researchers, space agencies, technology companies, and countries without space programs.
Another developer will be Nanoracks space services company. The company will be working with Voyager Space and Lockheed Martin to develop the first-ever free-flying commercial space station. They aim for the space laboratory Starlab to be operational by 2027.
The third company, Northrop Grumman, plans to operate a free-flying space station. The defense contractor said the station plans to help science, tourism, and industrial experimentation activities.

The area has been used several times by space agencies looking to safely de-orbit old spacecraft to avoid disasters in space or on the ground. Most parts of the ISS are likely to burn up as they pass through Earths atmosphere. However, some pieces might reach Earth. Thats why NASA says it would send the ISS to Point Nemo on its final resting place.
