Disney Plus turned its birthday into a marketing blitz Friday, adding Shang-Chi and Jungle Cruise to stream and dropping news about Marvel original series and more.
Disney Plus stood out as a breakaway success among a wave of new streaming services, thanks in part to its large library of shows and movies and a widening pipeline of originals and exclusives. But its growth has slowed over the course of 2021, and on Friday, Disney Plus fired up a marketing campaign to renew some buzz about the service. As part of the campaign, both Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and became available to stream at no added cost early Friday on Disney Plus, and the company released a load of new trailers, teasers, behind-the-scenes peeks and documentaries, as well as news of previously unannounced projects.
That includes news of multiple new Marvel series for Disney Plus, such as animated shows based on X-Men, Spider-man and Marvel Zombies, as well as a new live-action Disney Plus series based on Marvel’s Echo — the deaf martial artist who will be introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe later this month in the Disney Plus show Hawkeye. And a 14-minute Marvel “special” on Disney Plus itself was essentially a teaser supercut, peppered with previously unseen clips from Hawkeye, She-Hulk, Moon Knight and Ms. Marvel.

What Other Shows And Movies Are Coming To Disney Plus
Disney plans to flood Disney Plus and its other streaming services with shows and movies in the coming years, promising more than 100 new titles every year on Disney Plus and committing to spend $14 billion to $16 billion annually on streaming content across its services within the next four years. Disney Plus itself is going to get $8 billion to $9 billion of Disney’s overall streaming budget.
That eye-popping budget meant Disney has announced a wave of new Star Wars originals, tons of Marvel projects and an exhausting lineup of new shows and movies. Disney laid out plans for as many as 20 new . For details on them, CNET has deep dives into the announced Star Wars slate and , as well as coverage that generalizes the Disney Plus pipeline.
Disney Plus is also licensing some outside programming, like the popular kids animation franchise Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. Disney Plus struck a deal for the streaming rights to Miraculous‘ existing three seasons, as well as two more seasons that are forthcoming.
Then Disney introduced its Premier Access model, which sells streaming access to new, big-screen movies for an additional $30 on Disney Plus at the same time they’re also available in theaters.

You’ll spend a lot on the whole trip — and it’s only a few days. As with any voyage, you’ll have to plan for the total cost of the trip, which can include flights , hotel accommodations , cruise fares , transportation to the port , onboard purchases , shore tours and other port expenses.

What About Breakfast Time On The Last Day
You will stay in your rotational dining groups for your final day breakfast.
Just as there is Early and Late Seating for dinner, there is for breakfast.
This is actually one advantage of Late Seating for dinner if you are not an early riser.

As you can see breakfast can be as early as 6.45 am if you have early dining. If you have late dining you will have breakfast at either 8 am or 8.15 am.
This is quite a big time difference at that time in the morning, and may influence your choice of dining rotation!
Breakfast is also available at Cabanas if you just want a buffet.
How Much Is The Bundle With Hulu And Espn Plus
The company also offers a bundle that combines Disney Plus with Hulu and ESPN Plus, offering a discount if you subscribe to all three of those streaming services for $14 a month. Put another way, you can subscribe to all three of Disney’s main streaming services for the same price as a standard Netflix subscription.
A higher tier of the bundle removes the ads from Hulu. The package with ad-free Hulu, Disney Plus and ESPN Plus will cost $6 more than the basic bundle — equivalent to the same cost increase you’d pay to step up from ad-supported Hulu to ad-free Hulu as stand-alone services. The three-way bundle with ad-free-Hulu bundle is $20 a month.
Hulu’s prices for its standalone on-demand streaming tiers went up $1 on Oct. 8, but the price of the Disney Plus/Hulu/ESPN Plus bundle didn’t change.

Transportation And Parking At The Cruise Ports
Disneys bus transfers to and from the port are convenient, but also pretty expensive, especially for a family:
Disneys transfers must be booked a minimum of 3 days before the start of the trip through your travel agent . At the airports, a Disney rep will be at the baggage claim area to help direct guests to the bus. Your luggage will go directly to your stateroom you just need take your day bag with you to the cruise terminal.
One down side of using the Disney bus system is that you will arrive at the port with a big group of people and at a time dictated by Disney. The result is often a long wait in the check-in lines. You may also miss lunch on the ship, since the buses tend to arrive in the afternoon.
Below are alternate options that may be cheaper and/or more convenient.

There are Disney Cruise Line buses that are used only for transporting cruisers to and from Port Canaveral.
The cost varies depending on if you need a one way transfer or round trip transfer.
Disney Cruise Line buses offers pick up at the airport, Walt Disney World Resorts and Hyatt Regency MCO .
If you are doing a pre-cruise stay and are not staying at the Hyatt or a Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line Transportation is not an option.
The cost depends on whether you require a one way transfer or round trip transfer:

What Happens If There’s Covid
Disney Cruise Line said experienced doctors and other medical crew will be available on board to screen for and respond to coronavirus symptoms.
Its website said, “If a threshold of COVID-19 is detected on board the cruise ship during a voyage, the voyage will be ended immediately and the ship will return to the U.S. port of embarkation, and your subsequent travel, including your return home, may be restricted or delayed. … By sailing with Disney Cruise Line you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree to follow all health and safety measures implemented by Disney Cruise Line and any relevant governments and authorities.”

There Are Plenty Of Adult Spaces And Activities
The ship offers quite a few places for grownups to escape. These range from the adults-only pool and sun deck to a cluster of venues — a pub that shows live sporting events, a Champagne lounge, a bar with live music, and a nightclub with a DJ and dancing — that becomes adults-only after 9 p.m. Programming in these areas includes dancing, trivia, game shows and even a Quest scavenger hunt. Adult activities on a Disney cruise are often seasonal, as well. For example, our sailing, which was during Halloween, included an adult costume contest.
Bottom Line: Is A Short Disney Cruise Worth It
It’s worth it if: A short Disney cruise is worth the cost if your kids are at the right age and you’re willing to be flexible with what you’re able to see and do over a short period of time. It’s also worth the cost if you value top-notch food, service, entertainment and children’s programming, as well as a variety of adults-only spaces — but don’t have the time or budget to do a full weeklong sailing. If you’re seeking a seamless transition from a land-based Disney theme park vacation to a cruise, a Disney sailing is also well worth the cost.
It’s not worth it if: If you’re not a huge Disney fan, you can save money and still have a fabulous family vacation on another cruise line. If you require flexible dining or won’t be able to survive without a casino, a short Disney cruise won’t be worth your money. If you really want to experience nearly everything on the daily schedule without feeling overwhelmed or skipping ports, we recommend saving up for a weeklong sailing.
