If you like to cruise on a budget, youll need to look someplace other than Disney. Demand for Disney cruises consistently outpace supply. So, opening-day prices for most itineraries are the best youll do when it comes to price. From there, prices generally only go up.
There are some exceptions with special rates for military personnel, as well as Florida, Canada, UK and EU residents . But if youre a bargain hunter, your best bet is too book early, and understand that Disney is generally seen as a more premium line that can garner premium prices, especially from Disney enthusiasts who are used to paying that a premium on other Disney vacations. We generally believe the premium is justified for Disneys service level alone, but its not for everyone.

There are a lot of ways that you can spend your time while on a cruise, but the best way to spend a day at sea is by relaxing. And while you may think a Disney cruise ship is swarming with families and small children, there are a lot of adults-only areas on each of the four vessels. These adults-only spaces include the Senses Spa & Salon, where you can get a variety of massages, facials and other spa treatments. Senses also features the Rainforest Room, where you can unwind on heated ceramic loungers, bask in aromatherapy showers or sit in a Jacuzzi tub. Its truly the definition of a relaxing vacation.
Are There Poker Blackjack Or Slot Tournaments In The Casino
Most cruise ships with a casino will offer tournaments of some kind. Most common are slot and blackjack. Most tournaments are buy-ins where you pay a certain amount to enter and then don’t actually spend money during the tournament. Some cruise lines allow you to rebuy during blackjack and poker tournaments, so winners tend to be whichever player is willing to continually rebuy. Winners of tournaments typically win money but on some ships, namely Royal Caribbean, winners of the Texas Hold’em tournament are also eligible to receive a free cruise for two on which the final Royal Poker Tournament is held, for which a prize pool of $100,000 is guaranteed.

Youve Got To Know When To Fold Em
Even if you dont win cash as bingo, you may win other small prizes like tote bags. Jackpots and crowds get larger as the cruise goes on, so your chances of winning something are better earlier in your itinerary. Other opportunities to win random things onboard include raffles for treatments or cash at the spas on embarkation day. You do have to be present to win. These are usually around 3pm . If you need baseball caps, bags, or want to participate in another raffle for cash, stop by any Disney Vacation Club presentation there will be plenty during your cruise.
Is The Cruise Ship Casino Open 24/7
No. Cruise ship casinos are only open when the ship is out to sea or in port in a select few countries where gambling is permitted , such as Bermuda and Malta. On some cruise ships, casinos are also closed during the day — even when the ship is out to sea because cruise lines know most people are doing other things during daylight hours. Night hours vary, but cruise ship casinos tend to stay open until 2 or 3 a.m. Always check your daily cruise schedule for the day’s casino hours.

Soon after a March 2018 conglomerate wide reorganization that formed Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment division, Disney Cruise Line and New Vacation Operations was renamed Disney Signature Experiences along with a new president, Jeff Vahle.
Disney Cruise Line purchased in early March 2019 another Bahamas destination, Lighthouse Point property on the island of Eleuthera from the Bahamas Government. The cruise line was looking for another Bahamas location since the announcement of the third ship expansion in 2016.
In February 2020, Disney Wonder moved its home port to New Orleans. From March 14 until July 2021, Disney Cruise Line ships suspended operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sailings resumed in the form of “Staycation Cruises”, closed loop cruises of 2 to 4 nights from the United Kingdom ports of Liverpool, Southampton, Newcastle, and Tilbury for London.
The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy entered service in January 2011 and March 2012, respectively. These ships were built at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. These new 129,690-ton ships are 339.5 m long and 36.8 m wide. They are two decks taller than the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder and have 1,250 staterooms each. The Disney Dream was the first ship to have a water coaster.

What Is The Minimum Age To Play Or Hang Out In The Casino
On most cruise ships, the minimum age to be in the casino is 18. Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara raise that age to 21 on sailings in Alaska, while MSC raises it to 21 in the Caribbean. Princess Cruises, Windstar and Seabourn Cruises are among the few lines that require passengers to be 21 in the casinos on all sailings. In many cases, casinos are located along main thoroughfares, so kids will be walking through although they’re not supposed to linger. The Disney Cruise Drink of the Day is not a package, but we wanted to include it so that you get an overview of the available drinks. The Disney Cruise Drink of the Day is priced at a very reasonable $5.46 for the alcoholic cocktails which include a 15% gratuity.
There is always a non-alcoholic drink of the day which is priced at $4.89 including tax and gratuity. Note that tax is only charged if you order the drinks whilst you are in port. If you are out at sea this is not added.
The drinks of the day do vary but include Caribbean Dream, High Tide, Key Lime Margarita, Mai Tai, Paradise Cocktail, Pineapple Mojito, Stingray, and Yellow Bird.
Non-alcoholic drinks of the day include Lava Smoothie, Mango Crush, Mint Tea Punch, Parrot Song, Passion Cream Freeze, Princess Delight and Purple Basil Lemonade.
All of the Drinks of the Day are available in a souvenir cup for an extra charge. We usually get at least one of these as they make a nice souvenir to take home with you.

First, lets be clear. While Disney does not have casinos aboard its cruise ships, there are definitely adults-only activities. On each of the four Disney cruise ships are nightclubs and cabarets, live music venues, karaoke, sports viewing and more. Dont worry. You dont have to carry around your beer glass. You have a token which you show at the bar so they know you bought the deal.

OK, maybe bingo and raffles dont do it for you. Youre in luck. Youll find casinos in Nassau and St. Martin . San Juan also has many large chain resort hotels with casinos attached. Jamaica does have plenty of casinos, but none are convenient to Falmouth.

Its a huge plus for us that there isnt a casino on DCL. We know this is one of the biggest reasons why DCL costs more than other cruise lines, but we really appreciate the fact that theres no casino. There are couple of casinos near where we live, and we know too many sad stories of those who start out just having fun and losing them quickly trying to win back their loss. Even though we wont gamble, its hard for us to be part of it, so to speak we know where the savings for our fare came from.
