How Big Are Disney Cruise Ships

Disneys Concierge Wish Tower Suite

Inside Disney’s NEW Cruise Ship | The Big Business of Disney Wish

When Disney Wish launches in summer 2022, its Concierge Wish Tower Suite will be one of the most sought-after cabins afloat. Why? Because its housed in the ships iconic red funnel.

The 1,966-square-foot Tower Suite on Disney Wish is a two-story suite with four bedrooms and 4.5 baths, including two masters with tub, double sinks, and glassed-in rain shower.

The living room has a sitting area and dining space, pantry and wet bar with a wine fridge, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The décor is inspired by the Disney movie Moana, but maintains a sophisticated style. The suite comes with all the perks: 1,000-thread-count Frette cotton linens, pillow menu, free Wi-Fi, concierge service, priority boarding and tendering, and access to the Concierge Lounge and VIP sun deck.

What dont you get with this enormous cruise ship suite? A balcony. The funnel location is unique, but it doesnt allow for private outdoor space.

What Is Basically The Same About All Of The Disney Ships

Before going into what is different about each of the Disney cruise ships, lets think about what really is the same.

The level of service is exceptional on all of the Disney ships. It is always very difficult to explain just how above and beyond most of the Disney crew go to give exceptional service to their guests.

You have to experience the Disney difference to believe it. I have witnessed this first hand so many times. The Cast Members go the extra mile and welcome you like family.

Most recently I was on the Disney Wonder and was in Tritons, one of the main rotational dining restaurants, having lunch.

I heard a shout of pure joy as a server recognized a family from a previous cruise. She ran over and greeted that family as if they were long-lost cousins.

Thats the Disney difference that you just cant explain unless you see it. That kind of experience is genuine and is what Disney is all about.

There are other things that are just the same on all of the Disney ships. The large staterooms, most of which have the split bath. The excellent childrens programs. The adult spaces. The Disney rotational dining. Broadway-quality entertainment.

However, there are very distinct differences between each ship. Which Disney cruise ship that you think is the best for you and your family, will depend on other factors.

If you have children of a certain age you will want to look at our Best Disney Cruise Ship for Toddlers Guide.

Other Differences On The Disney Cruise Ships

Which is the best Disney cruise ship is always going to depend on so many factors which only you can answer. However, there are some other things which may help you make up your mind about which Disney cruise is best for you and your family.

Each Disney ship has different entertainment. All of the Disney cruise ships have amazing nighttime entertainment. However, all have different shows.

If your Disney Princess is a particular fan of Princess Anna and Queen Elsa then you may want to pick the Disney Wonder.

All the cruise ships will have personal appearances by the Anna and Elsa, but only Disney Wonder and Disney Fantasy has Frozen, A Musical Spectacular.

The Disney Wonder also has Tianas restaurant.

If your favorite movie is Tangled then you may want to consider the Disney Magic. They are the only ship to have Tangled the Musical on board. The Disney Magic is also the only ship to have Rapunzels Royal Table restaurant.

If I had to choose a ship that has the best entertainment I would always say the Disney Wonder as it has Frozen and The Golden Mickeys.

I do also enjoy Disneys Aladdin A Musical Spectacular on the Disney Fantasy. However, for me, the Disney Wonder wins on the stage show entertainment right now.

If you want to ride the AqauDuck then you have to sail on the newest ships of the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. The classic Disney Wonder and Magic really do not have anything to compare with this.

Disney Triton Class Ships

There are 3 more Disney ships on the horizon. The Disney Wish is due to be launched in 2022. The next two ships dont yet have scheduled launch dates.

These are known as the Triton Class ships.

We now know some things about the new Disney Wish. You can follow the Disney Wish Construction with us. WE constantly update all the information about the details of the new Disney Ship as they are announced.

The Disney Fantasy-class ships are 130,000 gross tons and the new ships will be 140,000.

However, we know that the new Disney ships will only have the same amount of staterooms at 1,250 as the Fantasy and Dream. Therefore it seems that there will be more room for the entertainment spaces on the Triton Class ships.

We would guess that the majority will be balcony staterooms on the new Disney cruise ships.

Its a pretty good bet that the new Disney ships will have the virtual portholes in the inside staterooms as well. Another highly likely feature of the new Disney cruise ships is that there will be an expanded concierge class.

This is a very exciting time for Disney cruise lines. Not only will there soon be 3 new ships, but there will also be a brand new Disney private island location.

Will the new ships be the best Disney cruise ships? Anything which we say now will of course just be speculation. However, we are sure that the new Disney cruise ships will be amazing!

If you want to know more about the new Disney cruise ships we have all the information you need here.

Disney Wish Cruise Ship Design And Features

Disney Wish will be larger than Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, the first two ships in the fleet that entered service in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Its design centres around a motif of enchantment, which will be expressed through a range of Disney stories that will be represented onboard, including Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel.

The new cruise ship will feature filigree artwork of Captain Minnie Mouse on the bow, while the stern will feature a custom sculpture of Rapunzel, a fictional character in one of Walt Disneys feature films.

The 341m-long, 144,000t Disney Wish cruise ship will feature 1,250 guest staterooms to accommodate up to 4,000 guests.

The ship will feature The Grand Hall, a three-storied fairy tale castle-inspired atrium with bright, airy, and elegant space, which will serve as the gateway for guests as they first step onboard the rest of the ship.

The Grand Hall will include an oversized chandelier and its design will be finished with Gothic, Baroque, and French Rococo architecture influences that will be prominent in the columns, carvings, trimmings, and adornments of the hall.

Which Disney Cruise Ship Is The Best

The Disney company has a total of four cruise ships. This is a relatively small cruise ship line compared to some of the other cruise ship companies. Nevertheless, there is so much to look forward to with each Disney Cruise ship. If you are trying to decide which Disney Cruise ship best, you have come to the right place.

So which Disney Cruise ship is the best? With only four contenders for the top spot, determining the best Disney Cruise ship is tough, especially for Disney fans. But while all Disney Cruise ships offer the best Disney-inspired cruise ship, the newest Disney Fantasy looks to be the best Disney Cruise ship to date.

Complete with an elegant design, high-end customer service, and some of the best amenities to keep both kids and adults entertained, Disney Fantasy is generally regarded as the best Disney Cruise ship. The Disney Fantasy cruise ship is also the newest ship of the Disney cruise line launching in 2012. Many people, however, say that Disney Magic, the oldest Disney Cruise ship, is the best.

Family Says Toddler Molested On Ship Disney Denies Claim

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. A family has filed a lawsuit against Disney Cruise Lines, saying their 3-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted by an older child inside a ship’s day care center due to understaffing and poor training of employees.

The lawsuit filed last month in federal court in Orlando says employees working in the Disney Fantasy’s day care center did not inform them of the assault during a January 2020 trip and were not adequately trained or licensed to work with children.

Disney Cruise Line spokesperson Cynthia Martinez told the Orlando Sentinel that the familys allegations were wholly without merit.

The plaintiffs first allegations were reported to the FBI, and the Brevard County Sheriffs Office investigated them and determined them to be unfounded, Martinez said in a statement. The plaintiffs have now come back with a different story, which is equally unfounded, that another young female child acted inappropriately with their child. We will vigorously defend this case in court.

The lawsuit, which seeks $20 million, argues that employees should have separated children by age group to reduce the risk of sexual abuse and employees should have placed the child in the nursery for younger children. The child accused of improperly touching the girl has not been identified to the family, said Michael Winkleman, the attorney representing the family from Vermont.

Disney Cruise Line To Resume Passenger Cruises Aug 9

BIG Cruise News Updates: USA, CDC, Norwegian, Disney and Celebrity

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. â Disney Cruise Line’s first sailing with passengers since the pandemic shut down the cruise industry will be Aug. 9, with a number of health and safety measures in place, the company said Friday.

What You Need To Know

  • Disney Dream is scheduled to embark on Disney Cruise Line’s first passenger cruise since the industry shut down
  • Passengers are “strongly encouraged” to be fully vaccinated before they go, Disney says on its parks blog
  • They won’t be required to be vaccinated, but if they provide proof, they won’t need to be tested for COVID-19, Disney says
  • Passenger sailings for Disney Cruise Line’s other ships won’t resume before Aug. 28, the company says

Disney Dream is scheduled to depart from Port Canaveral on a trip to Disney’s private Bahamas island, Castaway Cay, Disney said. Three- and four- night cruises will be available.

But “some things will look a bit different for now,” says Disney Signature Experiences President Thomas Mazloum in a YouTube video posted to the Disney Parks blog.

Passengers are “strongly encouraged” to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before they go on a Disney cruise, though vaccinations won’t be required on sailings departing from Florida, according to the health and wellness video.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a person as “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 when they’re two weeks past their second dose of a two-dose vaccine or two weeks past a single-dose vaccine.

Disney may be a giant in the vacation business, thanks to its many theme park and resort complexes around the world. But in the world of cruising, its a relatively small player.

Disneys 23-year-old cruising arm, Disney Cruise Line, only operates four vessels a small fraction of the number youll find in the fleets of cruisings best-known brands. The worlds two biggest cruise lines, Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line, by comparison, have 25 and 24 ships in their fleets, respectively. MSC Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line have 18 and 17 ships, respectively.

What this means if youre thinking about going on a Disney cruise is that its relatively easy to get a handle on your ship options much easier than it is at a line like Royal Caribbean.

At first blush, you only have to figure out the differences between four different ships. But, in fact, its even easier than that. While Disney has four ships in its fleet, the four vessels can be bunched into just two groups of two similar vessels. If you know one member of the group, you know them both.

How Big Are Cruise Ship Cabins

Cruise ship cabins are generally the size of a small hotel room with enough room for a queen-size bed, wardrobe, bathroom and a small desk or vanity area. On most cruise ships, inside cabins are between 150 and 185 square feet and balcony cabins are between 170 and 220 square feet.

Each ship will have many different cabin types, ranging from single inside cabins to huge suites.

Luxury cruise ships often have much larger suits than regular cruise ships. The Regent Suite on-board Regent Seven Seas Splendor is the largest suite at sea and measures 4,443 square feet. This is over four times the size of the average UK home.

This video shows what an inside cabin is like on a cruise ship and how it can accommodate a family of four.

I hope that this article will help you to understand how big a cruise ship is. I do believe, however, that until you step on-board for yourself, the sheer scale of a cruise ship is quite a difficult thing to comprehend.

How Big Is The Engine On A Cruise Ship

Disney Cruise Line

The engine room on a cruise ship is at least three decks high. The different parts of the engine are divided into separate water-tight compartments, one for the main engines and another for the heating and air-conditioning system. This is for safety reasons. If a penetration to the hull or fire happens, multiple compartments help contain the damage.
