Adventures by Disney has announced that deposits for new 2021 bookings, including Land Adventures, Escapes and River Cruises booked through June 30th, 2021 for travel through March 31st, 2022, are fully refundable.

Deposits are refundable until the final payment date, which has been temporarily changed to 65 days prior to adventure departure.;

Disneyland;Resort and Southern California Escape departures beginning in March 2022, all Buenos Aires Escape departures and all Expedition Cruise sailings are not included in the modified cancellation and final payment policy.

In order to promote physical distancing, Guests will not be permitted at the terminal or in parking areas before their scheduled arrival time. Disney Cruise Line Changes Final Payment And Cancellation Policy

Disney Cruise Line is changing its final payment and cancellation policy for bookings starting on Sept. 11, 2018.

After that date, final payment for all guests in standard rooms on sailings of one- to five-nights will be due 90 days prior to arrival. Prior, Disney allowed those guests up until 75 days before arrival to make final payment.

Those guests will now be charged cancellations fees starting at 89 days . At 44 days to sailing guests will lose half of their payment, at 29 days guests will lose 75 percent, and at 14 days or less guests will lose 100 percent.

For those in standard rooms on sailings six nights or more, payment will now be due 120 days prior to arrival. Disney previously required it 90 days in advance for sailings between five and nine nights.

Guests on those sailings will also see their cancellation policy changethose cancelling 56 days or more outside of their sailing will lose their deposit; those cancelling between 55 and 30 days outside will lose 50 percent of their fare; those cancelling between 29 and 15 days will lose 75 percent of their fare; and those cancelling two weeks or less outside will lose 100 percent of their fare.

Included In Vacation Fare

Cruise vacation fares include shipboard accommodations on a per-Guest basis, and all meals and entertainment as provided on board the ship. For parties staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and reserving a shipboard suite for more than 5 Guests, an additional Walt Disney World Resort hotel room will be required at additional cost.

Disney Cruise Line has several different categories of staterooms with somewhat confusing names and descriptions. Heres an overview of the various types and the key differences between them, with some notes on our picks for the best value.

How Important is Stateroom Location?

There are two;classic;rules of thumb about stateroom location: higher on the ship is better and closer to the center of the ship is better. In our experience, those rules of thumb are not actually very helpful.

Similarly, being higher on the ship doesnt hugely improve your views or experience. You get a slightly better view from a verandah on deck 8 than on deck 5, but only slightly. In the few cases where youd like a view from as high as possible , youll want to go up to the top deck for the best view anyway. Everything on the ship is a quick elevator ride away no matter which deck you are on.

Category Numbers And Letters

Disney is changing its classifications of room categories a bit starting in 2022, so some of this guide changes for those cruises. Any cruise that embarks in calendar year 2021 or before uses the old system, and any cruise that embarks in calendar year 2022 or later uses the new system. Where it makes a difference, well call it out below.

How Dcl Pricing Works

All cruises are priced based on two adults in the stateroom. So, even if you are one adult traveling with a child, the price is the same as two adults in the;stateroom. After the two adult prices, the third and fourth passengers in the stateroom are charged a lower rate. If you are traveling alone, DCL will charge you 100% of the second adults cruise fare ;in addition to;the full fare for the first adult.

**NOTE**;Teenagers will be Charged adult fares . Child rates apply to ages 3-12. Children ages 0-2 pay 50% of the child rate.

This does not impact access to areas of the ship that are designated as 18 and over .

News: Adventures By Disney Extends Its Fully Refundable Deposits For Eligible Trips

World travel might be seeing some slight modifications, but there are still many countries closed to foreign visitors at this time. So, Adventures by Disney has continued to cancel itineraries and extend flexible cancelation policies in the meantime.

And, now even more information has been released about which upcoming 2021 itineraries will also have fully refundable trip deposits.

Previously, Disney had noted that fully refundable deposits were available for bookings that were made through June 30th. And, now that were nearing the end of June, Adventures by Disney has modified the eligibility. The website states that New bookings of Land Adventures, Escapes and river cruises made through September 30, 2021 for travel through March 31, 2022 are eligible for fully refundable deposits up until the final payment date.

Its important to note that the Disneyland Resort and Southern California Adventure Escape departures starting on March 22nd are not eligible for these modified cancelations and final payment policies. The same ineligibility extends to all of the Buenos Aires Escape departures and expedition cruise sailings.

Transferring Reservation To A Travel Agent

Disney has a policy for reservations booked directly with them and transferred to a travel agent.;This policy includes Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney, and Aulani. Disney must approve all requested transfers.

  • Reservations paid in full are not eligible to be transferred.
  • Reservations that are not paid in full may only be requested within 30 days of the initial booking. .;

Disney Cruise Line Updates Flexible Refund Policy And More

Disney Cruise Line has recently updated its flexible refund policy, extended final payment, and cancellation fee schedule with the return of cruising coming to Florida starting in August.

Whats Happening:

Flexible Refund Policy:

  • Disney Dream Guests sailing through March 28, 2022 can modify their sail date or cancel and receive a full refund back to the original form of payment.

Denied Boarding Voucher:

  • Guests who experience one or more of the qualifying scenarios on the day of embarkation will be denied boarding and receive the denied boarding voucher for the full amount of their sailing or a full refund without cancellation fees.
  • Qualifying scenarios include Guests who:
  • Have symptoms of COVID-19
  • Have a temperature of 100.4°F or greater
  • Have had known exposure to a person with COVID-19 within the previous 14 days
  • Have tested positive for COVID-19

Pro-Rated Voucher or Refund:

  • Once onboard, Guests who are subject to a mandatory quarantine or test positive for COVID-19 will receive a pro-rated voucher for a future cruise or pro-rated refund.

Disney Cruise Line Cancels July 2021 Sailings From Us Ports

Disney Cruise Line guests with sailings booked in July 2021 abord the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy have been informed that all July sailings from the United States have been cancelled. In correspondence to those who had booked, Disney Cruise Line cites discussions with the Centers for Disease Control as the reason for the cancellation.

Guests who had paid in full are offered a 125% future cruise credit or a full refund. Those who prefer the credit will see it automatically applied to their account. Disney Cruise Line urges guests to contact their travel agent to make new reservations. Guests that made partial payments will receive a refund equal to what they have paid.

July Magic at Sea sailings aboard the Disney Magic have not been addressed in this notice, and appear to still be bookable for guests residing in the U.K.

Cancellations can be made either in writing or over the phone to Disney Cruise Line or your travel agent. Date or name changes will result in a cancellation of the booking.

Refunds will not be given for nonrefundable deposits or fares, regardless of when a cancellation is requested. Refunds will be made to the original form of payment, less any fees owed, after all related travel documents and related tickets are forfeited.

Refunds will not be given for no-shows or passengers who decide to disembark their cruise early after it has begun.

    Royal Caribbean’s NON-REFUNDABLE Deposits

    Flights booked through Disney Cruise Line will be canceled if the associated cruise reservation is cancelled, and passengers will be responsible for all cancellation or change fees levied.

    The below charts represent the penalty fee schedule for the cancellation of Flexible Fare flights under normal circumstances. (Passengers will forfeit all flight costs for the cancellation of restricted fares.

    In order to avoid forfeiting the total cost for Disney hotel stays, hotels outside of Orlando must be canceled 14 days or more prior to the date of your stay. Bookings in Orlando or at Aulani resort must be canceled 4 days or more from the date of your stay to receive a full refund.

    Ground transportation purchased through Disney must be canceled at least seven days in advance for a full refund.

    For flight, hotel, shore excursion or transfer arrangements not made through Disney, contact your travel agent or the service provider directly to inquire about cancellation and refund policies.

    Cruise.blog strongly encourages passengers to purchase travel insurance for all legs of their trip, including hotels and airfare in addition to merely the cruise itself. Those purchasing policies that include “cancel for any reason” coverage can file claims to recoup additional costs if the cruise line, airline or hotel is unable to refund the full amount of your booking.
