Disney Cruise Line announces their cruise dates and itineraries for only a few months at a time: January through April, then May through September and finally, September through December. Once the new itineraries come out, booking begins just a day or two later, first to Castaway Club members and then to the general public.

Disney Vacation Club Cruises
The Disney Vacation Club member cruises for 2022 will be the 3-night Bahamian cruise on June 14 on the Disney Wish, and the 7-night Alaskan cruise on August 29 on the Disney Wonder. Both cruises are sold out, but a waitlist is available.
DVC member cruises are only open to Disney Vacation Club members who have purchased at least some of their vacation points directly from Disney . Members can use their vacation points to book the cruise or can pay cash rates. Typically DVC cruises are significantly more expensive than similar cruises for the general public, but guests will be given a wide variety of DVC special gifts and will get to experience some exclusive member events including talks by special guests including artists, imagineers and/or actors from classic Disney movies.
Whether the DVC member cruise is worth booking is a personal judgment call. The extra events are difficult or impossible to experience any other way. The various DVC gifts are usually a mix of the usual kinds of tote bags, pens, and so forth you can get by attending a DVC meeting or buying a new DVC contract, plus at least a few special and unique items. Some people love the DVC member cruises and try to go on each one. Others go once and feel its not worth the extra money.

This weeks special offers from Disney Cruise Line sail in with a similar dates as last week. Sail dates for themed cruises such as Very MerryTime, Marvel Day at Sea, and Pixar Day as Sea remain available this week. Special offers include sail dates from now through early August 2023. Currently, there are nearly 60 sail dates available with special offers available across the fleet for sailings from Barcelona, Civitavecchia, Copenhagen, Galveston, Miami, New Orleans, Port Canaveral, San Diego, and Vancouver. The majority of the offerings are for San Diego, Miami, and Port Canaveral departures. The Disney Wonder leads the fleet with 29 sailings and the Disney Wish returns with 1 sailing with the MTO rate.
Looking closer at this weeks offerings, we see relatively no change except for one rate. Special rates for Florida Residents held at 10 dates, the US Military Personnel held at 32 sailings. The Canadian Resident held at 21 sail dates, all while the Southern California Resident rates increased 3 to 9 sailings.

Brilliance of the Seas will sail from Vancouver for the 2023 Alaska season to offer two itineraries: 7-night Alaska Glacier Experience cruises and 7-night Multi-Glacier Experience cruises. Brilliance of the Seas cruises depart on Sundays.

New Agreement Between Juneau And Cruise Industry Marks Big Shift From Past Lawsuit
All of the major cruise lines that visit Juneau have signed an agreement with the city the first of its kind in Alaska committing to nine actions. The parties announced the agreement on Monday.
This was kind of the grab bag of issues that came out of the task force that we wanted to get down on paper early, or first, said Juneau Tourism Manager Alexandra Pierce.
She was referring to the citys Visitor Industry Task Force, which recommended many of the commitments in this agreement back in March of 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic began shutting everything down.
The industrys commitments include giving advance notice to the city of ship schedules and capacity numbers and keeping big, outdoor screens turned off while in port. They also agree to maximize support for local businesses and support the use of up to $10 million in cruise ship passenger taxes to expand Centennial Hall.
Renée Limoge Reeve is the vice president of government and community relations for Cruise Lines International Association in Alaska. She said theres no enforcement mechanism its just an agreement made in good faith. But she said the cruise lines do get something back, even if the text doesnt really capture it.
Both Reeve and Pierce say this collaborative agreement is a big deal. Its a huge shift from the adversarial relationship that came to a head in 2016 when CLIA Alaska sued the city over its collection and use of cruise passenger taxes.
