We Got A First Look At New Disney Cruise Ship’s Marvel Restaurant And Star Wars Bar

Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship Now In Jamaica | News | CVMTV

The long-awaited Disney Wish ship, which sets sail in 2022, will also debut a Frozen dinner theater show with a Nordic-inspired menu and a Cinderella-themed piano bar.

Cruise ship dininghas come quite a long way over the past few decades. What was once a ritualistic experience where guests ordered off the same menuat the same seating time, from the same waiter, at the same table, with the same peoplehas lost favor to what Norwegian Cruise Line first dubbed “freestyle cruising,” with cruisers embracing a casual dress code and choosing between so many restaurants that it would be impossible to hit them all on a seven-night sailing.

Recently, Richard Branson’s Virgin Voyages even scrapped the concept of both a buffet and a main dining room entirely with the debut of its first ship, Scarlet Lady, signaling the culmination of a shift in the industry. But what about the most unique player in the game, Disney Cruise Line? With the heavy weight behind the name, Disney has always been able to make their own rules As with their theme parks and films, though, the company’s cruise ships strike a delicate balance between tradition and experimentation. Disney pioneered the concept of “rotational dining,” for example, with passengers switching between three different themed dinner venues each night but still having the same waitstaff throughout the sailing like they would in a typical cruise dining room.

New Disney Cruise Ship Rumors

New Disney Private Island?

With the announcement of three new ships, DCL will be increasing its fleet from four to seven total ships on the seas.

This will put extra stress and demand on the crowning experience of Disney’s Caribbean itineraries: Castaway Cay.

As such, Disney has been rumored to be scouring the Bahamas in search of “new Castaway Cay” to purchase. This would add a new Disney private island as a destination where its expanded fleet can take its passengers for a magical beach diversion.

Disney Cruise Line has officially put forth a proposal to develop the area of Lighthouse Point, Eleuthera in the Bahamas Initially, there was a group that actively campaigned against the development of Lighthouse Point.

DCL’s proposal to develop 746-acres to build a cruise port was tentatively approved in October 2018.

Jeff Vahle, president of Disney Cruise Line, said Disney looks “forward to working with government and the people of the Bahamas to create new economic opportunities while preserving the natural beauty of Lighthouse Point.”

New Disney Port in Bahamas?

Instead of constructing a new private island, Disney Cruise Line appears to have decided to purchase expansive property on an existing Bahamian island, Lighthouse Point on Eleuthera, to build a new “escape experience” similar to Castaway Cay.

Advantages to building directly on a populated Bahamas island over a private island include:

Disney Cruise Line To Resume Passenger Cruises Aug 9

PORT CANAVERAL, Fla. â Disney Cruise Line’s first sailing with passengers since the pandemic shut down the cruise industry will be Aug. 9, with a number of health and safety measures in place, the company said Friday.

What You Need To Know

  • Disney Dream is scheduled to embark on Disney Cruise Line’s first passenger cruise since the industry shut down
  • Passengers are “strongly encouraged” to be fully vaccinated before they go, Disney says on its parks blog
  • They won’t be required to be vaccinated, but if they provide proof, they won’t need to be tested for COVID-19, Disney says
  • Passenger sailings for Disney Cruise Line’s other ships won’t resume before Aug. 28, the company says

Disney Dream is scheduled to depart from Port Canaveral on a trip to Disney’s private Bahamas island, Castaway Cay, Disney said. Three- and four- night cruises will be available.

But “some things will look a bit different for now,” says Disney Signature Experiences President Thomas Mazloum in a YouTube video posted to the Disney Parks blog.

Passengers are “strongly encouraged” to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before they go on a Disney cruise, though vaccinations won’t be required on sailings departing from Florida, according to the health and wellness video.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a person as “fully vaccinated” against COVID-19 when they’re two weeks past their second dose of a two-dose vaccine or two weeks past a single-dose vaccine.

Two P& o Cruise Ships To Sail The Caribbean

P& O Cruises plans to have two ships sailing the Caribbean before the end of the year. The cruise line has experienced a hugely successful summer return with the launch of its newest flagship Iona and its popular summer seacations onboard Britannia. The cruise line is ready to expand its cruises and has chosen to do this in the Caribbean with Britannia and Azura.

Britannia will set off on her transatlantic voyage from Southampton in southern England on October 22. The vessel will take 14 days to sail to the Southern Caribbean island of Barbados before she starts the first of a series of 14-day cruises in the Caribbean.

Azura will be the second ship sailing the Caribbean for the UK-based cruise line. Starting December 10, the cruise ship will also be sailing from Barbados on 14-day itineraries that include ports of call such as Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba, Bonaire, Dominica, and Martinique.

P& O Cruises are not yet sailing with the entire fleet and will not do so this year. Aurora is currently scheduled to return in February of next year and Arcadia is scheduled to return to sailing in March of next year.

Plenty to look forward to and this will be the first chance British cruisers will be able to enjoy a cruise in the Caribbean since the suspension started in 2020.

I Just Learned An Ant

Disney has continued to raise the bar when it comes to its theme park experiences. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge makes you feel like you’re standing on an alien world, while Avengers Campus puts you in the middle of its own Marvel universe. Both of these lands have their own special dining options that are themed with the land, but if you want to have a true “cinematic dining” experience, then you’ll need to look toward Disney’s newest cruse ship, the Disney Wish. It will have a Worlds of Marvel restaurant that will provide a meal and a show, and allow guests to become part of that show, and we have some new details about what exactly that means.

The official unveil of the Disney Wish had revealed the Worlds of Marvel restaurant and the Ant-Man themed experience that would be part of it. However, new details from Food and Wine give some potentially spoilery details about the story of the dining experience. It will place guests in the middle of technology showcase hosted by Ant-Man and the Wasp that will then be hijacked by Ultron. Guests will receive a Quantum Core at their table which can be used to shrink and grow different items in the room, as well as their own food. Also, their are tiny cupcakes involved.

Carnival Cruise Line Updates Protocols

Carnival Cruise Line also provides an update on its protocols to align more with recent updates by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and new rapid testing sites at all of its homeports.

The cruise line will continue to follow CDC guidelines to make sure guests and crew remain safe. Guests will have to present proof of vaccination and a negative test at check-in, something which is already in place for current departures.

However, Carnival plans to make it easier by setting up mobile pre-cruise rapid testing sites at all of its homeports. The full details are still to come, but this will make it easier for those struggling to get tested before their cruise.

On August 29, 2021, the CDC updated its Conditional Sailing Order, including adjustments to testing, which now needs to be completed within two days before sailing rather than the previous three days. Carnival now says, Effective with sailings as of September 13, 2021, the CDC requires pre-cruise testing for vaccinated guests to be taken within two days prior to the sailing date. If the sailing is on Saturday, the test may be taken on Thursday and Friday, and as late as Saturday, if you are guaranteed to receive your results in time for check-in.

Disney Cruises Requiring Covid Shots Of Passengers

Disney Cruise Line is the latest to shift policy to now require passengers 12 and older to be vaccinated against covid-19 for sailings from Florida, even though a law pushed by Gov. Ron DeSantis threatens to fine cruise lines for demanding proof of vaccination.

The move comes nearly a week after the Bahamas updated an emergency covid-19 declaration that prohibits cruise ships from entering a Bahamas port, including the many cruise lines’ private islands, unless eligible passengers are fully vaccinated. This does not apply to passengers 11 and under who don’t have vaccine options or to passengers with proof of medical reasons for why they cannot take vaccines.

The Bahamas order goes into effect Sept. 3 and lasts through October for now. On Tuesday, Disney posted its amended policy to follow the same approach as Royal Caribbean, Carnival, MSC Cruises and Celebrity, all of which sail from Florida and had allowed some unvaccinated passengers.

Cruise lines have opted to require vaccines from its eligible passengers from every U.S. state except Florida because of the law that went into effect July 1, which threatens to fine companies $5,000 per instance for any time a business demands proof of vaccination.

Norwegian Cruise Line filed suit over the law, and a federal judge granted a temporary injunction to prevent the state from enforcing it. That injunction applies only to Norwegian and its sister brands Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas.

Disney Fantasy Longer Cruises Restart On October 9

Disney Cruise Line Mandates Vaccination On Bahamas Ship

For sailings beginning Sept. 3, travelers under the age of 12 will have to provide a negative COVID-19 test, the cruise operator said in a blog https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/guest-services/advisory. It also plans to cancel the Sept. 4 “Disney Fantasy” sailing.

Disney’s cruise line had earlier said it did not insist on vaccinations, but the change in stance comes after the U.S. health regulator asked people at a high risk of severe COVID-19 illness to avoid cruises irrespective of vaccination status.

The Bahamas, a major hub for cruises, has also said it would not allow those ships to dock in the country unless all passengers 12 and older provide proof of vaccination.

Carnival Corp’s namesake cruise line said on Sunday it requires vaccination proof for all passengers aged 12 and above.

Eligibility For Ship Color Status

The color-coding system is only applicable to cruise ships operating or planning to operate in U.S. waters. Status of ships is dependent upon daily submission of the Enhanced Data Collection during COVID-19 Pandemic form.

CDC has confirmed that the ships listed in the table below are operating under health and safety protocols that align with CDCs standards for protecting passengers, crew, port personnel, and communities by mitigating the public health risks posed by COVID-19. Gray-designated ships may have their own COVID-19 health and safety protocols, which CDC has not reviewed or confirmed.

When a cruise ship operating under the CSO notifies CDC of suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19 on board, CDC determines whether an investigation is needed, based on a predetermined investigation threshold. This investigation threshold gives CDC and the cruise industry the ability to work closely together to protect the health and safety of those on board and in communities.
