Disney Cruise Lines Are Set To Sail From Canada In 2019
Disney Cruise Lines has announced its new excursions for fall 2019, and Canada has been included in the mix.
There is one featured excursion from Canada and it follows a route along the Pacific Coast, from Vancouver to San Diego. Canadians will board the Disney Wonder for a 4-night sail to the sunny Californian city, which is known for attractions such as the historic Gaslamp Quarter, laid-back beaches and a 1,800-acre zoo.
The cruise is scheduled to depart on September 30, 2019 and advance bookings can now be made online for Platinum, Gold and Silver Castaway Club members.
Those in the east coast who do not have the luxury of departing from Vancouver can explore excursions from New York City, which is one of the closest Disney departure ports for cities like Niagara Falls, Toronto and Montreal.
Other excursions include ports of call at popular destinations such as Bermuda, Baja, the Mexican Riviera, the Bahamas, the Caribbean and even Atlantic Canada however most of these trips depart from coastal cities in the U.S.
Disney Cruise Lines also has Quebec City listed as one of its ports of departure, however, there are no available cruises departing from there at this time.

At Orlando International Airport

The Hyatt has a relationship with Disney, so you can arrange Disney bus transportation to the ship from the hotel . If you arrange your transportation through Disney, your luggage is transported directly to your stateroom on the ship. Talk about convenient!

Disney Cruises Set Out From Florida In Early 2023

Floridians will have a ton of great options if a cruise is sounding like just what the doctor ordered. Disney Cruise Line has announced that the Disney Wish and Disney Fantasy will sail from Port Canaveral while the Disney Dream will depart from Miami.
Aboard the all-new Disney Wish, you can enjoy a three- or four-night trip to Nassau, Bahamas, and Castaway Cay. The Disney Fantasy will offer seven-night trips to the Eastern and Western Caribbean as well as an eight-night trip that includes two days in Bermuda.
The Disney Dream sails out of Miami with a wide range of destinations. You can opt for four- and five-night cruises to dream locales like Grand Cayman Nassau Castaway Cay and Cozumel, Mexico. Theres also a five-night cruise that stops at Castaway Cay twice.

Where Do Disney Cruises Go In The Bahamas
Disney cruises to the Bahamas usually pass through two ports of calls: Castaway Cay and Nassau in the Bahamas.
While in Nassau, you will discover some spectacular excursions like the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, where you can unwind at the beach or try your luck at the casino.
Other excursions include a visit to Blue Lagoon Beach and the Historical Harbor Tour, among others.
If you plan on doing some shopping in the Bahamas, it is important to note that any goods and services you purchase in this region come with a 7.5 percent value added tax ,

Adventures By Disney Cruises To Antarctica
For 2021, DCL planned to introduce its first cruises to Antarctica via chartered ships. DCL’s first Galapagos Islands cruises are also planned for 2023, again via a chartered boat. Both “expedition ship travel” options are offered by DCL’s tour subsidiary “Adventures by Disney”, and are Disney’s ever-first expedition voyages.
Disney’s Antarctica program is via a ship charter deal with the French premium travel brand Ponant Cruises.
DCL will initially offer only two sailings to Antarctic Peninsula – both 12-day/11-night itineraries and with an overnight in Buenos Aires Argentina before the charter flight to Ushuaia Argentina . In Ushuaia start and end the Antarctica voyages on the Ponant vessel Le Boreal . Before boarding, tourists spend 2 days touring the area around Ushuaia . A sightseeing tour visits Tierra del Fuego NP and includes a train ride on the Southern Fuegian Railway in Argentina’s Tierra del Fuego Province.
DCL cruises to Antarctica include several days of exploration – landings and coastal cruising by Zodiacs that all Ponant ships carry onboard. An optional premium kayaking tour is also available for booking, as well as the 3-night hotel/4-day Buenos Aires guided tour package “Antarctica and Patagonia Expedition Cruise” .

Disney Cruise Line Fleet
While it may be a household name, Disney Cruise Line is actually a very small line. It currently has just four ships actively in the fleet, compared to 26 over at Royal Caribbean.
Out of the four, there are two smaller ships and two larger ones.
The largest two ships in Disneys fleet are the Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy, at 1,115 feet in length and 14 decks high. These two ships have a passenger capacity of 4,000 people spread out across 1,250 staterooms. The overwhelming majority of cabins on these ships have an ocean view or verandah with only 12% being interior staterooms .
The Dream is a workhorse of short three- and four-night sailings from Port Canaveral, Florida, to the Bahamas, home to Disneys private island, Castaway Cay. The Fantasy also normally calls Port Canaveral home but does various longer Caribbean sailings.
The smaller two ships in the Disney Cruise Line lineup are the Disney Wonder and the original ship in the fleet, the Disney Magic. These two ships are 984 feet long and 11 decks high, and each has the capacity for 2,713 passengers across 875 staterooms. On these two smaller ships, 70% of passenger cabins have ocean views or verandahs.
Disneys Wonder and Magic usually get around a bit more than the larger two ships. Depending on the time of year, you might find the Wonder sailing out of places such as Galveston, Texas New Orleans California or Alaska. The Magic can often be found in Miami, New York, Canada and Europe.

Disney Cruises Departing From Texas New Orleans And San Diego

If you arent fortunate enough to call Florida home, dont fret. Disney Cruise Lines is also offering trips to the Bahamas, Caribbean, and Mexico from three other major ports.
Starting in January 2023, the Disney Magic will offer four-, five-, six-, and seven-night cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean. Along the way, these cruises stop through beautiful destinations like Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico.
From February through March, the Magic makes its debut departures from New Orleans. You can book a four-, five-, or six-night cruise to hot spots like Grand Cayman and Cozumel.
Not to be left out, the Disney Wonder returns to the West Coast in April and May 2023. Sailing from San Diego, the Disney Wonder will offer three- to seven-night cruises to Baja and the Mexican Riviera.
The Disney Wonder will also run a seven-night cruise that goes to Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Banderas Bay.
If that all sounds great, youd better start game-planning. Bookings open as soon as Thursday, and youre going to want to act quickly so you dont get left ashore.

Caramel Macadamia Nut Cheesecake Tart:
We love anything caramel, so we jumped all over this when we read it. The tart crust was thin but sense, almost like a really good cookie, and had a dense cheesecake filling which was really good, not too sweet. On top there were a few macadamia nuts, and a small side of whipped cream and drizzle of caramel on the side. I thought it was good overall, not quite what I was expecting as I was hoping for a bit more caramel flavor actually in the cheesecake, but a solid dessert.

Coffee Shops And Snack Shops
Whats interesting about a Disney Cruise is that the snacks and pastries youll see in the coffee shop or kiosk are all included, but the specialty coffee will cost a little extra.
Drink prices are roughly similar to Starbucks, if not a notch lower. Be sure and ask for the Cafe Fanatic card if youre a regular as your sixth drink will be free.
In addition to the included ice cream, your ship may have some shops with ice cream that costs extra. This can get confusing to kids, so I want to warn you a bit ahead of time. On the Dream youll find Vanellopes, which is stuffed with candies, gelato and ice cream all for an extra charge.
Theres a juice bar on the Dream and Fantasy, but know that it also costs extra.
How Much Does A Disney Cruise Cost
Magic aint cheap, and Disney cruises are expensive. They arent the priciest voyages out there, but they will cost more than family-friendly competitors such as Royal Caribbean by a noticeable margin.
For a family of four, the cheapest Disney cruise currently available in 2021 or 2022 is just over $2,000 but both of the cheapest options are for two-night cruises on the West Coast. The cheapest price for a family of four on a three-night cruise from Port Canaveral to Nassau and Castaway Cay in an inside stateroom is currently about $2,500. An ocean view will add about $70 and a verandah will add about $200.
On these shortest cruises, concierge-level staterooms and access start at about $5,000 for a family of four.
Those sorts of prices will only be available during the offseason, such as in mid- to late January and early February. That same cruise during spring break can cost double, so the more date flexibility you have, the better.
A seven-night cruise, such as one going from Cape Canaveral to the Western Caribbean, or from San Diego to the Mexican Riviera, will likely start around $5,000 for a family of four. Expect Alaska and European cruises to start at $5,000 to $6,000 for inside cabins for a week, and go up in price for longer sailings and upgraded staterooms.

Disney cruise ships have long been praised for being kid-friendly while offering exciting amenities and spacious accommodations.

Disney Cruise Line will return to Castaway Cay in the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the Mexican Riviera in early 2023. But you wont have to wait nearly as long to secure your cruise.
If youre a Disney Cruise Line Platinum Member, Golden Oak Club Member, or Club 33 Member, you dont even have to wait the week. Youll be able to take advantage of open bookings on Oct. 14.
Disney Cruise Line Gold Members can swoop in and book their cruises on Oct. 15. On Oct. 18, you Disney Cruise Line Silver Members, Disney Vacation Club Members, and Adventures by Disney Insiders will have your crack at it.

Who Sails Disney Cruise Line
Lets start with the obvious: Families love Disney Cruise Line.
The ultimate sweet spot for taking a Disney cruise starts when a child is at least 3 years old and potty trained and lasts until they outgrow their love of Disney characters .
Theres the very real fact that a Disney cruise costs more than a similar cruise on a line such as Royal Caribbean, so its easiest to justify the price increase when your kids love Disney the most.
So, yes, the stereotype that Disney Cruise Line is full of families is 100% correct.
Youll see tons of families with kids in those preschool, elementary and middle school years. But youll also see families with little babies , tweens, teens, college-aged kids and even grandparents who have made a Disney cruise an enjoyable multigenerational travel tradition.
