Viking ocean cruises include beer, wine, and soft drinks with dinner but dont include drinks at any other time of the day. I took a 4-night cruise with Viking into the arctic circle in pursuit of the midnight sun. It was one of the best experiences of my life, if you can afford to cruise with Viking I cant recommend it enough.

When To Buy Your Drinks Package
Should you buy your drinks package when you book your cruise, before you sail or on-board the ship? Youll probably see that different prices are available depending on when you purchase the package.
The best time to buy your drinks package is after you book your cruise but before you sail. Buying it on the ship is almost always more expensive.
After you book your cruise, you may receive emails with special offers on drinks packages which can include a discount of up to 30%. Cruise lines may also offer drink package promotions to encourage you to get one, particularly at times such as Black Friday.
When you board the ship, you may see offers such as buy one get one half price on drinks packages. But look closely at the original price. Youll see that its much higher than it is if you pre-book before you cruise. So, even with these offers, youll still get a better price if you buy the package before you set sail.

If you elect to buy a drink package before your cruise, you will be charged for the drink package at the time of purchase. This helps reduce the total bill you will see at the end of your cruise.

The standard all-inclusive drinks package with Marella includes selected draught beer and cider, selected wine and Prosecco by the glass, spirits and aperitifs and a range of cocktails.

Whether or not a drink package is worth it depends on how much and how often you drink. We would guess that for most people, the cost dont justify purchasing an all you can drink package.

Consider that a beer on the ship costs between $6-8, including gratuity. For a drink package running $60 per day, youd have to drink about 8-10 beers each and every day including on days when you are in port to get your moneys worth.
If you like more expensive drinks like cocktails, the math works a little more in your favor. A $10-14 cocktail means youd have to drink about 5-7 drinks every day to make it worth your while.
Many people might be able to keep this sort of pace up for a couple of days, but it can be tough to do that for every day of your cruise. Also keep in mind if you have to spend more to purchase the drink package for everyone in the cabin, even if they dont want it.

On most cruise lines an automatic gratuity will be added to your onboard account to cover tips for the staff.
Increasingly cruise lines are including this in the cruise fare. Ive cruised with a number of lines who include gratuities and I much prefer it.
In this post, we will look at the lines which include gratuities in their cruise fares. The post is based on booking a cruise from the UK.
Note: You cannot remove gratuities on cruises with Costa Cruises.
Carnival Cruise Line Non
Bottomless Bubbles is Carnival Cruise Lines unlimited soda package. For one flat fee, cruisers can enjoy all the fountain soda and juices they want with this package.
The pricing of this package is $8.50 for adults and $5.95 for children aged 17 or under .
Like the alcoholic drink package, you can only order one drink at a time, either a 16 ounce glass of soda or a 10 ounce glass of juice. Soda choices on the Carnival drink menu for 2020 include Pepsi products, Tonic Water, and Club Soda. Similarly, for juices, cruisers have the option of Orange Juice, Cranberry Juice, Tomato Juice, Pineapple Juice, and Grapefruit Juice.
Again, like the Cheers Program, this package does NOT work off the ship, even at Half Moon Cay or Princess Cays. Bottled water and specialty coffee are also not part of this package. Other exclusions include beverages sold in souvenir glasses, beverages sold at the gangway, and room services orders.
