Lots of people cruise with Royal Caribbean its known as good for families but what about MSC? MSC is known as the family cruiseline. We have cruised with Royal Caribbean for 10 years and are diamond members so we love it! After doing a couple of days on the naming of MSCs Bellissima we were intrigued and looked for something in a port in Spain near where we would be during the summer holidays. We took a cruise out of Valencia for seven days around the Med so here is what we thought.

Medium Ship Line #: Silversea Cruises
Silverseas fleet has 10 ships, of which just three are technically medium-sized, with passenger counts around 600 peoplebut thats considered quite a large number for the luxurious cruise line, which specializes in smaller expedition vessels. Silversea Moon, which debuted in 2021, and its sister Silversea Muse are the largest, each carrying up to 596 passengers. The line sails to more than 900 destinations around the world.
Breakthrough Covid Cases On Msc Seashore
MSC Seashore, which was scheduled to disembark passengers Thursday, sailed with 28 passengers who tested positive for COVID-19.
“During a routine monitoring aboard MSC Seashore, a limited number of guests and crew tested positive for COVID-19. Twenty-eight of the 4,714 guests and crew members 0.59% of the onboard population were discovered to be positive,” MSC said in a statement provided by spokesperson Stephen Schuler.
MSC health protocols were implemented “immediately” and all who tested positive and their close contacts were isolated in balcony cabins in a separate area on the ship. The majority of those who tested positive are asymptomatic, some have mild symptoms.
The cruise line said Wednesday it would continue to monitor the health of those passengers and crew members and would offer complimentary testing for passengers who wished to have it “to feel reassured and for peace of mind.”

Pools On Msc Versus Royal
Pools, what is the difference between MSC and Royal Caribean?
MSC shut pools at night which I think is a great idea. Being the parent of a teens my fear is lots of kids gettting in the pool or jacuzzis late at night which is what generally happens on Royal Caribbean. As parents we find ourselves going out to check where they are and what they are doing.
MSC drain down the pools and net over the jacuzzis after the lifeguard has left. Often with peer pressure and children finally finding friends they want to sit in the hot tubs after dark. This is not something that sits right with me and often on all inclusive holidays and cruise I find myself worrying and trapsing around trying to find them.
This gives me a comfort to know that the pools are drained and covered. Obviously let your child know!
Royal Caribbean do not do this and there are often groups of kids in jacuzzis way in to the early hours.
All pools are similar and there are lots of sunbeds available on both. There were plenty of Jacuzzis on both cruise lines however I found MSC to be quieter during the day around the pool.
