Royal Caribbean Sailing From Los Angeles Sooner Than Expected
Three weeks ago, Royal Caribbean announced that they would be offering cruises out of Los Angeles in 2022 for the first time in ten years.
Now, the cruise line will sail from the port sooner than expected and Navigator of the Seas will begin sailing from Los Angeles later this year.
The cruise ship will sail a variety of cruises to Mexico starting in November 2021. The new itineraries open for bookings on April 12, 2021.
Navigator of the Seas will sail three, four, and seven night cruises. Port stops include Ensenada, Cabo, and Catalina Island. The week long holiday sailings will include an overnight port stop.
Navigator of the Seas had a $115 million overhaul in 2019 that turned the cruise ship into the ultimate vacation playground.

Norwegian Cruise Line resumed cruises from Los Angeles when Norwegian Bliss began sailing seven night cruises to the Mexican Riviera.
Norwegian Bliss, one of the most successful ships ever launched in the companys 54-year history, will be the cruise lines second vessel sailing from the West Coast, following the celebrated restart of Norwegian Encore, which resumed voyages to Alaska from Seattle in August 2021.
On Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, Norwegian Bliss crew members greeted eager and excited guests as they set sail for the majestic Mexican Riviera, looking forward to unforgettable onboard experiences such as world-class fare across 19 dining options, 20 bars and lounges, a two-level racetrack with the Bliss Speedway, and Broadway-caliber entertainment such as Six: The Musical, which premiered onboard Norwegian Breakaway before hitting the stage on Broadway.

On January 21, 2022, the cruise ship will set sail for a 14-day voyage through the Panama Canal, calling at notable ports such as Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Puntarenas , Costa Rica and Cartagena, Colombia, before arriving in Miami, the worlds cruise capital.

More than 200 sailings are forecast for the 2022 calendar year, the most since 2008, the port said in a statement Wednesday.
The first cruise ship departure from Los Angeles since the coronavirus pandemic shut down the industry occurred when the Grand Princess sailed from the ports World Cruise Center on Sept. 25.
A busy weekend, with three or four cruise ships in port, may bring as many as 20,000 travelers to the LA Waterfront district and each ship call generates more than $1 million in economic activity, the port said.
Companies scheduled to operate out of Los Angeles include Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Oceania, Regent Seven Seas, Viking Cruises, Crystal, Seabourn, Cunard and NYK.

Royal Caribbean Just Got Cleared To Sail From Miami This Weekend
This marks Royal Caribbeanâs first passenger cruise from the U.S. since the start of the pandemic.
Royal Caribbean just got the green light to depart on its first ticketed cruise from the U.S. since the pandemic started.
Following a successful test voyage, Royal Caribbeanâs Freedom of the Seas is set to leave Miami on Friday for a Fourth of July weekend cruise to the Bahamas. The ship is scheduled to stop in Nassau and at CocoCay, Royal Caribbeanâs private island in the Bahamas.
âThis is exciting progress, and we look forward to welcoming our guests on board,â Royal Caribbean CEO Michael Bayley said in announcing the development .
Royal Caribbeanâs Freedom of the Seas recently completed a three-day, two-night test voyage from Miami with 650 employees on board a gauge of its ability to operate safely during an ongoing pandemic.
Royal Caribbean said all crew members expected to be on board the Freedom of the Seas have been vaccinated. The cruise line also noted that âthe majority of guestsâ have been fully vaccinated, though it declined to provide specific numbers.
Many of the shipâs unvaccinated guests are children and will have to participate in COVID-19 testing and other safety measures, Bayley said on Facebook.
Vaccinated guests will also have access to all areas on board, including restaurants, bars, pools, shops, and entertainment venues, while unvaccinated passengers will be restricted in certain places. You can find a full list here.

Cruise operations at the Port of Los Angeles resumed on Sept. 25, with the Grand Princess cruise ship setting sale for a five-day trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Before that, the last cruise ship that set sale from the port was the Norwegian Cruise Line Joy, which left on March 15, 2020, according to the port.
The port said that L.A. is the U.S. largest drive-to cruise market, with people coming from Phoenix and Las Vegas to embark on cruises, and vacationers from San Francisco, Seattle and Vancouver fly to Los Angeles to board cruises.

Celebrity Cruises: Resumed Sailing June 26
Celebrity Cruises made history as being the first line to make a return to the United States. When Celebrity Edge departed Fort Lauderdale on June 26, it marked the first major ship to sail from the U.S. in roughly 470 days.
Other ships scheduled to sail from America in 2021 include Celebrity Equinox, Millennium, Summit, Reflection, and Apex.

Grand Princess Is The First Cruise Ship To Depart From Port Los Angeles/long Beach
Princess Cruises ship Grand Princess set sail on Saturday, September 25, at reduced capacity from Port Los Angeles , marking the first time a cruise ship has departed LA since the COVID crisis shut down cruise operations in March last year.
The liner is scheduled to call at Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Mexico on Monday, September 27, and sail back to Los Angeles on September 30.
Grand Princess, which normally holds 2,600 passengers, was sailing at reduced capacity, between 60%-75%, the line revealed. She left at 4:00 p.m. for a 5-day trip to Cabo which is the first of 11 cruises scheduled from the Port of Los Angeles in 2021 and the first of 5 with the same itinerary.
The last ship to set sail from the Port was Norwegian Joy, which left on March 15, 2020.
According to the Port, each cruise ship in Los Angeles contributes over US$1 million in economic activity. The Port hosts ships with NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line and Princess Cruises. Princess ships have set sail from LA more than any other cruise company. From January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2019, Princess Cruises has had 700 cruise ship calls in Los Angeles. The line began operating from Los Angeles back in 1965.
