Parking at the PortBy far the easiest and most convenient spot to park is at the port. Port Everglades has multiple parking facilities near the cruise terminals, giving you the ability to park right at your cruise ship. That means you can drive and arrive when you want, and then head home the second you get off the ship. Given the number of parking spots at the port, you dont have to reserve a spot ahead of time. Simply show up on cruise day and park.
Parking at the port runs $15 per day for most vehicles. Have an oversized vehicle that doesnt fit in a normal parking space? In that case, youll pay $19 per day. Frankly, the official parking at Port Everglades is relatively cheap compared to other ports, though the costs can still add up.

Dania Beach Ocean Park And Pier
Locals adore Dania Beach, a 20-minute drive from FLL or Port Everglades, because its one of the least-crowded stretches of sand in the area. Yet, it even has a marina and pier from which you can fish. If you just want to enjoy the views, grab a bite to eat at Quarterdeck Restaurant , which is right on the pier itself. At the beach, theres a playground, restrooms with showers and lifeguards on duty. You can also rent kayaks from area vendors.

Traveling To And From Fort Lauderdale Florida
Although the name is Port Everglades, the port is not part of the Everglades at all, but actually in Fort Lauderdale, on the southeastern coast of the Florida peninsula. There are a couple of airports nearby, so compare fares including transfer costs carefully to find the best deal.
When you fly into Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport you are close enough to the pier to see the ships in the distance! Its less than 10 miles. Taxis are lined up outside the doors of the baggage claim area and the cost is about $12 for up to five passengers, based on the meter reading. Shared van services will run from $8 pp to $12 pp.
Miami International Airport is a bit further away about 30 miles and a taxi can cost approximately $100. There are shared shuttle services for about $15pp.
For those of you driving to Port Everglades illuminated, security-patrolled parking garages are available and the cost is $15 per day.

Where To Watch Cruise Ships In Fort Lauderdale
One of the largest cruise ship ports int he world is Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale and if you are not lucky enough to be on one of these cruise ships, the next best thing is to watch them leave! Blog writer Michael Poole shares where to watch the ships leave if you want to see them in Fort Lauderdale.
More often than not, if you are sailing on a cruise, you arrive to the departing city the day before to avoid any unplanned delays. Thats exactly what I did on my last cruise on Oasis of the Seas out of Fort Lauderdale.
Once I arrived to Fort Lauderdale, I reached out to my good friend, Emmy Schaffer, about the best place to watch ships sail out of Port Everglades. Ive always seen pictures of people on rocks at the beach waving bon voyage to the ships, but honesty had no clue how to get there.
Almost all the cruise ships sail between 4:00pm 5:30pm, so Id recommend arriving no later than 3:00pm.
The cross streets you want to look for are South Ocean Drive and Anchor Drive SE 20 ST. You can also look for Everglades House condos, as they are on the same block.
Once you arrive there are only a few meter parking spots on the right side, so get there early. We had to circle around a few times and lucked out getting one, but it was almost 4:00pm.
Now you will see a large section of rocks to the right and this offers the best views for watching ships sail away.

Celebrity Cruises continues to move forward on resuming cruise operations. Today, Celebrity Equinox becomes the third in the fleet to restart from the U.S. and is departing Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Port Everglades Cruise Terminals
The cruise terminals at Port Everglades are spread out compared to many other ports like Miami. There are two distinct regions Northport and Midport. Northport is comprised of Terminals 2, & 4. Midport consists of Terminals 18, 19, 21, 25, 26, & 29. Given the higher number of terminals, most people cruise from Midport facilities.
Terminal 2Renovated a few years ago, Terminal 2 is home to Princess Cruises. One of the unique features of the terminal is that its setup for Princess Ocean Medallion service, which is a wearable device that can replace your room keycard. The terminal offers 85,000 square feet of space, including about 21,000 square feet for passenger waiting, so you should never feel cramped.
Terminal 4The last cruise terminal in the Northport area and right next to the Convention Center, Terminal 4 can accommodate ships up to about 900 feet. The terminal was updated in 2015 with a $24 million renovation. It comes in at 140,000 square feet.
Terminal 18Sailing on Royal Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale? Theres a good chance youll sail from Terminal 18. Its the main Royal Caribbean terminal and serves the largest ships in the cruise lines fleet . As with all the terminals, there are parking options right nearby.
Terminal 26Toward the southern end of the port, Terminal 26 is perhaps the easiest terminal to get to. Its right along the entrance road at the port. Parking is available at the Midport Garage , right across the street from the cruise terminal.

Which Celebrity Cruise Ships Have Resume Operations
Here are all the Celebrity cruise ships that have already resume operations in addition to Celebrity Equinox resuming today:
- The magnificent Celebrity Millennium, returning to service as the first ship to sail in the Caribbean on June 5 from St. Maarten. In early July, Celebrity Summit took over the service, allowing Celebrity Millennium to reposition for the Alaska season.
- Celebrity Apex, the newest addition to the Celebrity fleet, made her world debut in Athens on June 19, with seven-night sailings to the Greek Isles. The cruise marked a historic return to Greece for the company founded there 33 years ago.
- Apexs sister ship, Celebrity Edge, made history as the first ship to sail from a U.S. port in over a year, restarting the U.S. cruising industry.
- On July 3, Celebrity Silhouette began taking guests from Southampton, UK around and along the British Isles and coastline.
- Celebrity Flora®, the luxurious, state-of-the-art mega-yacht, fulfilled guests bucket lists as it resumed sailing the magical Galapagos Islands on July 4. She was followed into the water by the award-winning Celebrity Xpedition® on July 24.
- And, on July 23, Celebritys long-awaited return to the incomparable natural wonders of Alaska began as Celebrity Millennium embarked on a journey to the Last Frontier.

Celebrity Equinox Resumes Operations
The Celebrity cruise ship is departing out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to restart cruises after remaining on hold during the suspension of operations around the world. The ships first voyage back is a seven-day Western Caribbean itinerary, including calls at St. Maarten and St. Thomas, along with Nassau, Bahamas.
Celebrity Cruises President and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said: With each new ship that goes in the water, Im overwhelmed by the palpable sense of reconnection on board for both our guests and our crew with each other, their families, and the world. Celebrity Equinox will be rotating between the Eastern and Western Caribbean during its deployment from Fort Lauderdale. The cruise line now has a total of eight ships back in service, including three ships sailings from the U.S., including Celebrity Edge also out of Fort Lauderdale, Celebrity Millennium, which kickstarted cruises to Alaska just yesterday out of Seattle, and today, the Celebrity Equinox.
