Adventure-seekers take note, heres what you can expect to experience on the Ultimate World Cruise.
Cruising The Maldives Islands

From restaurant hopping in Male to snorkelling in the Banana Reef, the trip to the Maldives will for sure get your heart beating faster and faster.
Visit the manmade island of Hulhumale and the hub of entertaining cultural activities that is known as Artificial Beach. Learn about the simple life from the villagers of Hurra Island and enjoy one-of-a-kind picnic experiences on Maadhoo Beach.
Every water sport under the sun is accessible to you in the Maldives. From parasailing to water flying, these water activities are a must-try.
Adrenaline rushes followed by tranquil moments will intertwine on your cruise of the Maldives Islands.
Haleakala National Park Maui Hawaii
Haleakala National Park in Maui, Hawaii
Perhaps better known for its sunrises, Haleakala is also well worth seeing for its beautiful sunsets. Standing at 10,000 ft, the view out over volcanic peak, massive sky and expansive ocean is spectacular indeed.
In the Hawaiian language, Haleakal means House of the Sun. In mythology, Maui was a demigod who stood here and roped in the sun to give his family more daylight.
From this height, the sun certainly seems to stand still for a while, taking its time sinking into the sea. Tumbled clouds add an extra dimension to the sights as shadows and colors play across their faces.
You will need to dress up warmly, with a good hat, heavy coat and even glovesyes, in Hawaii. Once the sun drops down, so do temperatures at this high altitude. The show doesnt end at sunset either. Keep watching as the stars blink on in the night sky to fill the heavens with their glory.

Stock up on camera memory cards and up the cloud storage: you’ll hit Abidjan on Africas Ivory Coast, Australias Great Barrier Reef, Indias Chennai, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Punta Del Este Uruguay
Punta del Este, Uruguay
Jutting out into the Atlantic on a promontory, the buzzing beach resort of Punta del Este has a perfect setting from which to see the most beautiful sunsets in Uruguay. In fact, many visitors seem to only start their evening out after watching it.
The Hand, a sculpture by Chilean artist Mario Irarrázabal of a giant hand rising out of the sand, is a landmark site for photos. His signature piece has been copied around the world but never bettered.
There is also a wide choice of amazing restaurants, glamorous hotels and terraces to take in the view. Popular with Argentines and Brazilians, Punta del Este is a resort that gives St. Tropez a run for its money.

Around The World Cruise
When deciding on an around the world cruise, be aware that you can expect to be away from home for at least three and even four months or longer. If you opt for a shorter cruise segment, you might cruise for as little as two weeks or for as long as two months if you opt for longer cruise segments. You should think about what where you want to stay on the cruise. A lower cabin with fewer amenities might be fine as long as you’re spending most of your time off ship and touring destinations. If you have the budget for it, a more expensive cabin might be a better choice, especially on longer voyages. You’ll have a private retreat to stretch and relax no matter where you are on any given day. In any cruise, you can expect standard amenities such as room service and meals. You might have to pay more for shore excursions or entertainment. Many cruise ship companies also offer special tours with experts who can show you jungle birds in their natural setting or explain the differences between Shogun Japan and contemporary Japanese society.
What To Expect Onboard
When not out exploring the world, your floating home offers an abundance of floor to ceiling windows to take in the ever-changing view.
The 2146-passenger has three pools to recline by, a spa, and 12 dining options.
Theres also a rockclimbing wall, mini golf and a basketball court. Staterooms range from suites with giant balconies and all the perks including a concierge service, priority boarding and dedicated entertainment seating to the more budget-friendly interior rooms.

Myth : World Cruises Feature Long Stretches Of Sea Days
These cruises traverse countries and continents, so do expect several sea dayswhere you’re not in port and free to lounge or relax on the ship all dayin order to do it but theyre carefully spaced out, with often no more than one or two such days in a row. Take Viking’s 161-day Miami to London world cruise on Viking Sun, departing December 14, 2020: You’ll average just one sea day between ports, and some segments, such as Venice to Corfu, or Naples to Grenada, don’t have any. And truth be told, on most cruisesespecially a world cruiseyoull welcome the down time after constant touring and other activities on land.

Do You Have To Do The Whole Thing
Generally no. A world cruise is, in reality, a collection of segments. Theres only a limited number of people who can afford months away even if they can afford the fare so some companies promote the segments. While some cruise ships call a port home others, particularly upmarket ones, sail the world and each cruise can be linked to the next.
Often, though, a world cruise segment can be more entrancing than a regular cruise as theres a real feel of travelling the distance tends to be greater and you start and finish in very different places. That can also be a downside, though, if airfares not included.

Seen against a sunrise or sunset, the boulders make for a mesmerizing, otherworldly image, much enjoyed by photographers. The image is an unmissable sight for anyone visiting New Zealands South Island.
