Hotel With Cruise Parking
Do any of the hotels in Galveston offer free parking and shuttle to the cruise terminal? Trying to decide if we want to stop Friday night on the other side of Houston and drive in the morning or push through to Galveston and sleep in Saturday morning.

Moody Gardens has a special Stay and Cruise package. Many hotels along Seawall Blvd also offer the free parking and shuttle service if you book at least a one night stay for the night before your cruise. We stayed at the La Quinta on Seawall and loved the ease of the hotel’s shuttle.

You may have already been on your cruise, but looks like others have already provided you with good answers. If you haven’t gone yet, I would suggest staying in Galveston before the cruise…avoid the hassle of driving and the traffic before time.
A night in Galveston is nice if you have not visited previously and as the list Gehrig provided you have a variety of options. I like his suggestion of the Hilton.
The comfort suites on seawall charges for their shuttle but the parking is sheltered under the hotel and the beds and breakfast were good.

The port of Galveston has two terminals and is used by several cruise lines including Carnival, Disney, Princess, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean. Interstate 10, Highway 146, and Interstate 45 link Galveston to mainland Texas and there is ample parking at the port with a guaranteed place for every cruise passenger who requires it.

Port Or Hotel Elevated Parking Garage For Cruise
Are any of the cruise port parking lots in an elevated parking garage & if so can you make reservations for them? Also what hotels offer free parking for the week in an elevated parking garage if you stay one night pre cruise? How likely are any of the regular, not in an elevated garage, parking lots to flood in the event of a hurricane? Thanks for any information!
If I recall correctly , most of the cruises that leave Galveston depart after Hurricane Season ends . The cruise port is on the north side of the island, less likely to flood than the south side, which is open to the Gulf of Mexico. I’m not aware of any elevated garage parking, although someone more familiar with hotel parking on the island than I may know of some. Also, ask yourself how often hurricanes which enter the Gulf of Mexico actually make any kind of hit on Galveston–lately, there are more hitting the Atlantic Coast than the Gulf Coast . Personally, I would sail without worries .

The bad news? There arent a ton of hotels right at the port . The good news? Galveston isnt that large, so in reality, every hotel is just a few minutes away.
The island has a wide variety of places to stay, from historic hotels like Hotel Galvez to modern-day hotel chains that are abundant on Galveston. There are also a few resorts with large pools, restaurants, and more. No matter your budget or what youre looking for, Galveston has something to fit your needs relatively close to the port.
Most Galveston hotels are along the Seawall. After the hurricane of 1900, the entire island was built up, with a protective barrier along the island facing the Gulf of Mexico. Today the main boulevard on the island runs along the Seawall, and hotels next to it offer unfettered views.
There are also hotels on the mainland, just 15-20 minutes from the island. While these dont offer the views or atmosphere of staying in Galveston, they can be affordable and convenient as they are on the way from Houston.
One thing to know is that a number of hotels in the area offer parking at their hotel while you cruise. So stay a night, and you can leave your car there for little or no cost. If youre driving into the port, its hard to beat this deal.
